The Lead Designer’s role is to provide creative design solutions that develop the tender scheme to provide design led, industry leading commercial interiors. Partnered with a Technical Designer on each project, you will be responsible for approving their drawings, running with the project from handover, setting project bid schedules, supplier and client liaison, and supervising work on-site.

A proven track record from a consultancy background and commercial office interiors experience is essential as is the ability to pitch in a competitive situation. With a confident manner and the ability to lead the design process you’ll need to be well organised, efficient and collaborate well with team members and external teams.

A driven, creative team player with a great work ethic is what they require and literacy in AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp and InDesign would be an advantage.

The right candidate will need at least 4 years’ experience (6+ years’ would be preferable) on high-end residential projects, have a good knowledge of FF&E and be proficient in AutoCAD and Photoshop. You’ll be able to conceptualise, put together detailed working drawings and collate supporting documentation as well as having strong presentation skills. Able to project manage, you’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to manage budgets and problem solve. Our client is an expanding creative design and build company specialising in the commercial food and beverages sector including bars, restaurants and cafés. Their client base is varied including the business and industry sector, education, leisure and retail clients. Due to an ever increasing level of projects being won they seek an experienced Senior Interior Designer who can manage their own projects and help manage others in the team.

With a proactive and enthusiastic personality, you will understand what it takes to produce great design solutions, with an ability to be inventive, demonstrate creative thinking, show awareness of the market trends and understand branding.

They are looking for someone with a minimum of five years’ experience of interior design projects including significant experience in hospitality design and fluent in AutoCAD or Vectorworks (Photoshop, SketchUp and/or InDesign would also be useful). You should have good sketching and visualisation ability, excellent design and spatial planning skills, strong technical skills, understanding of materials and suppliers, co-ordination and development of FF&E schemes. Commercially aware, you’ll need an understanding of the catering design process relative to delivery of an operation type and proven communication skills as the job involves liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and local authorities.

They are exceptionally busy and need to expand their design / project management capacity with vacancies for both a middleweight interior designer and a senior interior designer. The designers have full project responsibility from start to finish, yielding a high level of job satisfaction.

With a minimum of 3 years’ experience in residential / hotel design, you should have excellent interpersonal skills, able to present to clients, both private and corporate. Articulate with excellent English, qualifications in design, you will also need a good knowledge of fabrics, furnishings and be spatially aware with an eye for colour and detail.

Pay and conditions are good and include an element of bonus based on company and individual trading results. Additionally they offer flexitime and 29 days hols (incl. Bank Holidays) rising to 33 days with service.
