As a young but established start-up company it is a really great time to join them and they are currently recruiting for an Architectural Graduate still fairly early on in their career.

For the first 6 months you will work with the Design and Sales team getting to understand the Company's present customer base so you are able to contribute to the continual growth and development of the Brand. At the end of this period your role will have evolved and where best your talent and energy should be focused can be discussed.

The main remit of the job will be: assist with Auto CAD drawings, visiting architectural practices, taking briefs on new projects - visiting sites under construction and answering technical queries and taking site photos. You will also take responsibility for their showroom in terms of maintaining and improving its impact, managing how best to present samples on display, sending samples out to clients and managing larger samples out on loan. This showroom showcases their products to the architect and design community.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with Part 1 Architectural Degree
  • AutoCAD - good knowledge of basic construction drawings
  • A confident decision maker
  • Strong Excel capabilities
  • Proactive and highly organised
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and meet assigned tasks
  • Excited by the design industry

It is an exciting time for the company and in order for their ambitious plans to work they seek a Design Manager to take on a pivotal role for the company with experience in office furniture / dealer desk manufacture.

You will be responsible for the product output of the business integrating their class-leading furniture frame systems with locally sourced panels and associated elements. As part of a small quality driven team you will be involved in all aspects of the business, from client enquiry through to fulfilment.

Person / Experience Required:

  • A good understanding of furniture manufacture and materials
  • Experience with supply chain management
  • Literate in both AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Ideally knowledge of ConfigurationManager and PDM works
  • Comfortable in meeting and interacting with clients
  • Strong project management and administration skills
  • An understanding of InDesign would be a bonus, but not essential

This company has been producing bespoke furniture and specialist finishes for many years for the high-end London and international markets working for leading interior designers, architects and private clients. They currently have two requirements:

1. Furniture Design Technician with excellent technical knowledge of furniture construction to produce accurate working drawings using VectorWorks and the concept design drawings to be used in the sales process.


2. Senior Furniture Designer who will be supervising the design team and also producing working drawings using VectorWorks and the concept design drawings. The SFD will have responsibility for coordinating makers and subcontractors to ensure timely production of bespoke items.

Persons / Experience Required:

  • Knowledge and experience of VectorWorks or similar CAD program
  • Knowledge of furniture manufacturing techniques and materials
  • Site installation experience is desirable as well as practical cabinet-making or bench skills
  • Good hand-sketching ability would also be desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work with multiple projects
  • Strong analytical, budget awareness and problem solving skills

Salaries: Furniture Design Technician - £23k to £29k, Senior Furniture Designer - £30k to £38k.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and with knowledge of 3D packages (they use Inventor and can provide in-house training)
  • Able to demonstrate a flair for creative solutions to design conundrums
  • Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness in the design and delivery of projects
  • A good understanding of furniture and period joinery detailing, with knowledge of period architectural styles and building techniques an advantage
