This company designs and produces some of the best door furniture and ironmongery in the world used on exclusive residential and hospitality projects. Their core ranges are designed and manufactured in Britain and are the result of a history of innovation combined with decades of experience.

They are currently looking to expand their team by recruiting a Product Design Assistant to help re-arrange, fix and produce fully accurate CAD files and technical drawings for existing components and products. Once this initial backlog of drawings has been completed the successful candidate will then go on to assist in the development of new products and the design of bespoke products.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Product Design or Engineering degree
  • A good knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, however they would consider SolidWorks as an alternative
  • Experience of producing technical drawings for manufacture
  • Good flair for design
  • Logical, methodical, solution oriented, technical minded and practical

Person / Experience Required:

  • A fantastic communicator with experience in a client facing design role

  • A proven ability to build client relationships, win new business and grow accounts

· Strong technical skills and some previous experience within signage design and environmental branding

Commutable from both Bath and Bristol, they have an opening for a Project Designer to work from the initial client meeting and be responsible for the creative responses to that brief, not just the specific function of one room in isolation, but how it relates to the rest of the building and be at the forefront of communications with their clients. The role will progress through drawings, specifications, costings, presentations and then completing any revisions before handing over to the production team and overseeing the project to completion.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Proficient AutoCAD 2D user
  • Experience of Interior measured surveying
  • You will need to demonstrate a flair for creative solutions to design conundrums
  • An acute attention to detail is needed and extreme thoroughness in the design and delivery of projects
  • A good understanding of furniture and joinery detailing from the Georgian period forward
  • Knowledge of timber, wood veneers, wood finishes, cabinet making and joinery
  • An understanding of mechanical and electrical services required to be connected to fitted furniture, kitchens, and bathrooms
  • Excellent written and spoken English as all communication needs to be correct in terms of grammar, punctuation, and spelling

Furniture and Joinery Designer - Berkshire - up to £25,000 (V03374)

This leading manufacturer of aesthetic, high quality bespoke joinery operates nationwide and offers total management of joinery packages, from initial site survey through to installation.

Due to an increase in business they are seeking a Technical Designer who can produce detailed 3D models, renders and 2D technical drawings of furniture and joinery via the draft stages. Once finalised, the drawings are then used for the manufacturing processes in their onsite factory and site fitting. Take offs for CNC milling and other outsourced material production, will also be required directly from the 3D models into a CAD format, so accuracy is vital.

Person / Experience Required:

This role would be ideal for a technical designer with experience of bespoke joinery and resistant materials, who is passionate about problem solving the complexities of bringing different materials together to realise the client's aspirations.

  • Experience of 3D packages is needed, SolidEdge would be a bonus, but SolidWorks is easy to transfer over from
  • Knowledge of Keyshot would be an advantage
  • Between 2 and 3 years' experience in bespoke furniture design / kitchen planning would be ideal
  • Knowledge of a wide range of materials will be beneficial as they deal with timber, panel products, solid surfaces, stone, glass and steel
  • Good at problem solving
  • A good sense of humour!

Production of the component parts takes place in small workshops around the UK which are then assembled to order at their Berkshire HQ. They are now seeking a Technical Manager to be responsible for the technical management of products, ensuring that all products meet legislative and quality requirements. This role would suit someone who is looking for the opportunity to build a career and grow with the company.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Ownership of Bill of Materials, Instructions, Product Technical Files and Specifications.
  • Responsible for managing change control process.
  • Responsible for delivering live product enhancement projects and dealing with any design or quality issues that arise.
  • Key involvement in new product development projects, supporting MD in product design.
  • Involvement in set up, installation, and (where necessary) break-down of exhibition stands, showroom displays, photography sets and showcase displays.
  • Responsible for in-house testing of products, liaise with third party test houses.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Have experience of working in a similar role in a relevant production environment.
  • Experience of the lighting industry and in particular BS EN 60598-1 an advantage but not essential.
  • Be very organised, consistent, and have excellent attention to detail. Confident, pro-active and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Have excellent IT skills, be an expert user of MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Windows Explorer and CAD.
