They are currently seeking a CAD Technician who is able to demonstrate that they can competently work within the high-end residential market as this role needs accurate detail drawings incorporating design for manufacture. There are great career prospects available and the company have an excellent approach to work and their staff.

Summary of Person / Experience Required:

  • A clear understanding of design for manufacture
  • A working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
  • Competent using AutoCAD
  • Good communication skills
  • A background in cabinet making, shopfitting or boatbuilding is preferable

This global leading international specialist in the design and furnishing of office and working environments create exceptional workplace spaces and the key components to their success are design excellence, trend setting and a team of expert employees.

Their London office is currently looking for an all-round Designer who can combine space planning, 3D CAD Visualizing and specifying of furniture. You will be expected to liaise with suppliers, clients, production, sales and the factory to help generate original, innovative ideas that combine aesthetic appeal and functionality.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Technical competence and the ability to create space plans following any regulations
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D Studio and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Able to create high quality renders of products and spaces (experience of producing rendered walkthrough videos would be useful)
  • Commercial design experience preferably working with office furniture and understanding the sometimes complex nature of this product type
  • Knowledge of Revit or BIM software would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with regards written and spoken English

Package:

  • £30k to £35k base salary dependent upon experience
  • Company bonus scheme payable annually based upon company performance
  • Company pension (applicable after the successful completion of probation period)
  • Death in Service (applicable after the successful completion of probation period)
  • 25 days annual leave, 3 of which have to be taken over the Christmas period

You will be preparing drawings for the purposes of pre-sales, production and installation, creating BOMs, preparing mock-ups and product customisation and providing client facing technical support with Sales teams.

Person / Experience Required:

  • This would suit either a graduate with relevant work experience or a designer with 1-2 years' post study experience
  • The individual must be a self-starter, demonstrate critical thinking and attention to detail
  • An excellent communicator verbally, written and visually with the persona to work with clients
  • Knowledge of and aptitude for sheet metal fabrication and timber panel manufacture

This ambitious company is growing to meet the worldwide demand for its luxury furniture. With state of the art in-house production facilities and a creative and technical studio they are seeking to fill two roles:

1. Furniture Design Engineer
The successful candidate will take inspiring design concepts and using CAD software turn the designs into a set of engineering drawings for in-house manufacture including CNC, laser work, hand making, leatherwork and finishing as well as outsourced parts made by external sub-contractors. Also preparing a bill of materials to be sourced and ordered by purchasing.

2. Project Manager
The successful candidate will manage the engineers within the team and oversee project management and delivery of a projects from concept design to handover of iconic yacht and residential projects worldwide.

Person / Experience Required:

Furniture Design Engineer

  • At least 5 years' bespoke furniture making and construction at a luxury level
  • Fluency in both 2D and 3D CAD software with Rhino being an advantage
  • Ability to work to budgets for completion of engineering drawings
  • Ability to travel and be competent at taking on-site measurements.

Project Manager

  • Ability to manage furniture projects to a value in excess of  £1m from design concept through to client handover
  • Ability to plan and schedule with your team to exceed client's expectations
  • At least 5 years' bespoke furniture making and construction at a luxury level
  • Proven experience of 2D CAD software skills with 3D Rhino an advantage
  • Excellent leadership, management, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work and travel worldwide outside normal working hours when required

The company offers:

  • Salary of £30k-£38k for the Design Engineers
  • Salary of £38k-£52k for the Project Managers
  • Share of discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance
