Junior Product Designers - Oxfordshire - up to £22,000 (V03519)

With a great reputation for taking on designers early in their career and allowing them to develop and learn, they are now seeking two such designers to fill the roles of Technical Design Assistant and Bespoke Design Engineer.

1. The Technical Design Assistant will provide speedy technical advice on products. It is a varied role and will involve creating technical literature and establishing design feasibility for projects, producing 3D models and drawings. They will also be liaising with suppliers, architects and contractors and therefore will need excellent verbal and written communication skills.

2. The Bespoke Design Engineer will be responsible for taking a project from order stage, once the initial design has been agreed, all the way through to the finished product, representing the client and ensuring the final product is built to the clients expectations. A strong technical understanding will be needed where the finer details of the design has been considered and resolved. They will also be involved in liaising with suppliers, architects and contractors, therefore excellent communication skills both verbal and written is essential.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design or a similar discipline
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience/ placement within a relevant professional environment - Graduates will be considered
  • Have a good working knowledge of 3D CAD Software (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Able to understand technical information
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

This company specialises in the design of investment properties, showhomes and private residential projects. They have a comprehensive range of interior design services and products creating and managing any project from designing or supplying a single item of furniture to undertaking a complete refurbishment.

With a steady increasing workload, they are currently looking for an interior designer (recent graduates will be considered) to take on a permanent role working as part of a lively and busy team.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Relevant qualifications
  • Excellent design flair and creative conceptual skills
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and commercially aware
  • IT literate; competent in PowerPoint and CAD packages
  • Current Driving Licence and car

Interior Designer - Warwickshire - up to £35,000 (V03448)

This award-winning multi-disciplinary workplace interior design consultancy continues to grow and are looking for two Interior Designers to join the team. Their offices are within easy access to both public transport and the motorway, with secure onsite parking.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Translation of conceptual planning into working drawings
  • Designing, detailing bespoke furniture and joinery
  • Specification of furniture and finishes
  • Creation of project mood and finishes boards
  • Accompanying a senior designer / director to presentations and meetings with clients
  • Working with an external project team and other consultants
  • Coordination of building services
  • Liaising with contractors and suppliers through to completion of project

Person / Experience Required:

  • A creative designer with a minimum of 5 years' professional workplace commercial design experience
  • Excellent communicator able to question intelligently
  • Initiative with good problem solving skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Experience of the complete project cycle from pitch, brief through to construction
  • Good product, furniture and finishes knowledge
  • Commercial understanding
  • Knowledge of building regulation standards
  • Literate in: AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign
  • Familiar with NBS
  • A team player in creative design projects, as part of a flexible team or on their own

They are also looking for a more Junior Designer who has creative skills and passion for design. They would be working closely with the design team translating conceptual planning working drawings, compiling mood boards and liaising with suppliers.

The Junior Designer will have the following skills:

  • Some commercial interior design experience
  • Excellent communication and problem solving abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Understanding of the complete design process
  • Can thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Literate in AutoCAD, Photoshop and InDesign
