Interior Designers - London - negotiable (V03558)

This Architectural and Interior Design Company has a strong reputation within the residential and property development marketplace and also have their own Interior Design showroom.

Two new opportunities have arisen within their busy design team for a Senior Interior Designer and for a Graduate Interior Designer. For both roles you will need your own transport to travel out to see clients and carry out site surveys.

Responsibilities for the Senior role will include:

  • Developing and managing private client interior design briefs
  • Liaison with suppliers and the in-house Customer Service team
  • Preparing client budgets and costings
  • Attending client meetings, installations and managing the onsite fitting team
  • Being a multi-faceted role, there will be a need to be able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally


Responsibilities for the Junior role will include:

  • Preparing presentations and mood boards including digital presentations for clients
  • Attending client and site meetings
  • Sourcing, preparing, designing and implementing schemes for private clients and showhome properties
  • Preparing client budgets and costings
  • Attending client installations and assisting the onsite fitting team
  • Undertaking surveys and measurements as required

Experience Required:

Senior Interior Designer:
You should come with a proven strong background of more than 10 years' experience in interior design for private residential, developers and show home clients. You will have led and managed successful projects and have also managed a team of junior designers. Furthermore, strong FF&E experience across a broad spectrum of price points is important along with strong spatial awareness skills and attention to detail. You should also have detailed knowledge of fabric and wallpaper companies and experience in designing, measuring and carrying out quotations and proposals. IT literacy should ideally include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Photoshop.

Junior Interior Designer:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in a creative field such as interior design or architectural interior design and some with experience already gained within their sector. You should be highly organised and coordinated with a great passion for elegant, high end design and for soft furnishings. Strong attention to detail, commitment and dedication is important. Excellent competency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Google SketchUp, InDesign and Illustrator is asked for along with good numeracy in order to make accurate calculations.

As a young but established start-up company it is a really great time to join them and they are currently recruiting for an Architectural Graduate still fairly early on in their career.

For the first 6 months you will work with the Design and Sales team getting to understand the Company's present customer base so you are able to contribute to the continual growth and development of the Brand. At the end of this period your role will have evolved and where best your talent and energy should be focused can be discussed.

The main remit of the job will be: assist with Auto CAD drawings, visiting architectural practices, taking briefs on new projects - visiting sites under construction and answering technical queries and taking site photos. You will also take responsibility for their showroom in terms of maintaining and improving its impact, managing how best to present samples on display, sending samples out to clients and managing larger samples out on loan. This showroom showcases their products to the architect and design community.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with Part 1 Architectural Degree
  • AutoCAD - good knowledge of basic construction drawings
  • A confident decision maker
  • Strong Excel capabilities
  • Proactive and highly organised
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and meet assigned tasks
  • Excited by the design industry

Furniture Designer - Devon - up to £27,000 (V03544)

This well-established company of furniture designers and makers are based in East Devon and manufacture custom-made furniture for high-end residential projects throughout the UK and abroad. An exciting opportunity has just come up for an experienced Furniture Designer / CAD Technician to join the existing team and provide support to the project managers and the workshop.

Main areas of responsibility would include:

  • Client liaison
  • Design Development
  • Site survey work
  • Researching and integrating fittings
  • The production of presentation and working drawings
  • Briefing makers and regular visits to the workshop

Ideally they seeking a candidate with at least 3 years' experience but they might also consider a recent graduate / newly qualified furniture designer for a more junior role.

 

Person / Experience Required:

  • Qualified in Furniture Design
  • Literate in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of producing detailed drawings of bespoke furniture for manufacture
  • Experience of making furniture would be advantageous

This award-winning multi-disciplinary workplace interior design consultancy continues to grow and are looking for two Interior Designers to join the team. Their offices are within easy access to both public transport and the motorway, with secure onsite parking.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Translation of conceptual planning into working drawings
  • Designing, detailing bespoke furniture and joinery
  • Specification of furniture and finishes
  • Creation of project mood and finishes boards
  • Accompanying a senior designer / director to presentations and meetings with clients

Person / Experience Required:

  • Understanding of the complete design process
