With their origins in the trading and command and control room sectors, they are now also a recognized supplier of workstations for general office environments and seek a junior technical designer to work closely with the internal business teams.

You will be preparing drawings for the purposes of pre-sales, production and installation, creating BOMs, preparing mock-ups and product customisation and providing client facing technical support with Sales teams.

Person / Experience Required:

  • This would suit either a graduate with relevant work experience or a designer with 1-2 years' post study experience
  • The individual must be a self-starter, demonstrate critical thinking and attention to detail
  • An excellent communicator verbally, written and visually with the persona to work with clients
  • Knowledge of and aptitude for sheet metal fabrication and timber panel manufacture
  • Previous space planning experience and knowledge of the office interior fit out process
  • AutoCAD and Solid Edge (or similar 3D modelling) is essential, with the Adobe Creative Suite beneficial

1. The Technical Design Assistant will provide speedy technical advice on products. It is a varied role and will involve creating technical literature and establishing design feasibility for projects, producing 3D models and drawings. They will also be liaising with suppliers, architects and contractors and therefore will need excellent verbal and written communication skills.

2. The Bespoke Design Engineer will be responsible for taking a project from order stage, once the initial design has been agreed, all the way through to the finished product, representing the client and ensuring the final product is built to the clients expectations. A strong technical understanding will be needed where the finer details of the design has been considered and resolved. They will also be involved in liaising with suppliers, architects and contractors, therefore excellent communication skills both verbal and written is essential.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design or a similar discipline
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience/ placement within a relevant professional environment - Graduates will be considered
  • Have a good working knowledge of 3D CAD Software (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Able to understand technical information
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

You will be working closely with the Product Development Team, presenting ideas at various stages of the design process, including budget costs. After meeting with external clients, you will be producing concept ideas and developing the most effective ideas into GA drawings using Cinema 4D and SolidWorks. You will also be responsible for researching into market trends, considering gaps in the market, making the products reliable, safe and visually attractive and finding environmentally friendly methods to produce them. Commercially aware you will be compiling budget cost reports for purchase and sale, completing Product DNA sheets and adhering to UK and International specifications to confirm compliance.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Product Design
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in Product Design
  • Experience and sound knowledge in Cinema 4D and SolidWorks
  • Proven design flair and a creative eye for shape and colour
  • An understanding of different materials (especially steel, plastic and foam) and production methods
  • Technical, practical and engineering / scientific knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English
  • The ability to work out costings and work to budgets

The role of the Production Engineer mainly focusses on the successful co-ordination and implementation of new products within their manufacturing facilities, whilst also offering support for existing products and processes. Person / Experience Required:

  • Previous engineering experience along with an understanding of engineering and New Product Development (NPD) implementation principles
