Our client creates luxury furniture for super yacht and residential projects worldwide. The company is known for combining innovative design with exceptional craftsmanship. They are looking to recruit a lead designer that can share their vision and direction with an existing design team. The designer will be responsible for leading and working as part of a team (of three designers) in the development and execution of bespoke furniture projects to both traditional and contemporary design briefs.

The candidate will have a degree in Product / Furniture design and at least 3 years commercial experience working in a luxury residential or yacht interior design studio. The candidate will need to be a proficient user of AutoCAD, Rhino (or other 3D software) and Adobe Creative Suite. In addition hand sketching skills are necessary to communicate ideas for presentations and client facing. A working knowledge of interior or architectural design and photography art direction/post production would also be beneficial. The role requires: excellent written and spoken English, confident client facing skills, attention to detail and accuracy, a calm manner under pressure and ability to maintain effective working relationships with the design and procurement team.

This leading upholstery manufacturer in the UK works with many of the major furniture retailers and is seeking to strengthen their Design Team. Reporting directly to the Head of Design and working closely with the design team the successful candidate will have a good understanding of textiles for use in upholstery together with a passion for blending together shape, texture and colour for the upholstered furniture market. Responsibilities will include liaising with fabric suppliers and agents on existing collections whilst also reviewing new collections, attending fabric shows and developing the full colour palate on selected fabric ranges.

Qualified and experienced with textiles for upholstery / furnishings, you will be creative with an eye for trends, colours and palettes and have at least 1 years' industrial experience.

They specialise particularly in playground equipment, but are involved in many other industries that have a requirement for machined plastic parts. They are looking to recruit a new designer with good 2D and 3D CAD skills such as Solidworks / SolidEdge to join the team. Working from a brief you will be seeing the projects through from concepts, engineering, Bills of Materials, prototyping and on to production.

Degree qualified in Industrial Design / Product Design you will also need a track record in technical product design with clear team working experience and 2+ years proven ability in product design. This design led, market driven manufacturer of public seating solutions has a strong emphasis on the passenger airport terminal market and transport waiting area seats. Their innovative contract furniture products can be found in airports, rail and bus stations, cruise terminals and waiting rooms around the world. They are currently seeking a designer/design engineer to work on design projects from concept generation through to working prototype and first off production. There will be some space planning and seating layout work involved, but knowledge in this area is not essential. The company also exhibits widely, so there will be exhibition stand design, detailing and coordination work involved. You will also be jointly responsible for supporting/managing a junior designer and intern.

They are looking for a designer with excellent design development and 3D modelling skills (Solidworks, Adobe Creative Suite and AutoCAD). In addition you will have at least 2 years’ experience in product/furniture/industrial design engineering. The appropriate candidate will also be proficient in generating detailed technical drawings for production. A good technical understanding of contemporary and traditional materials and manufacturing processes is also very important.

This British lighting and furniture designer has its own workshop and along with selling to private individuals, work alongside interior designers, architects and other independent retail companies to assist in creating unique items for their clients. Every piece is made to order and they offer a finishing and restoration service to the trade. Their products are produced by highly skilled craftsmen in their London workshop and are currently looking for a full time individual to join their small, friendly and creative team.

Based in the office at the workshop, you will be responsible for processing and managing client orders, liaising between the client, the workshop and the company directors. You will need to have an understanding of workshops and preferably metalworking, fabrication and lighting manufacture. Tasks would include: Processing client orders, creating job sheets, quality checking finished items prior to dispatch, organizing workshop material collections and undertaking visits to clients and discussing orders.

They are seeking a conscientious and self-motivated person who is qualified to degree level or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the lighting / design manufacture or luxury goods industry.
