Responsibilities include:

  • Creation of hand sketches, 2D drawings and 3D visuals for client proposals
  • Producing accurate elevation drawings
  • Visiting clients on site to create measured surveys
  • Working closely with key suppliers, sourcing new materials and inspiration from the wider industry
  • Concept creation, design development and client-facing presentations
  • Producing specifications and schedules for design projects

Person / Experience Required:

  • Architecture or Design related degree
  • 1-2 years of design-based work experience
  • Good CAD software skills 2D + 3D, ideally in VectorWorks (training can be provided), Photoshop and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent presentation skills and confident to present design work to clients
  • A creative flair and ability to create engaging hand sketches demonstrating concepts
  • Demonstrable knowledge of materials and basic construction techniques
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with suppliers
  • A full, clean UK driving licence

This specialist supplier to schools, academies, nurseries and libraries in the UK create inspiring spaces for readers which is fundamental to developing the reading habit.

Although they are primarily seeking a Library Designer, there is also a business development requirement so you should have good commercial awareness and the vision to anticipate and satisfy customer needs. You will work with prospective customers across the UK, to design exciting and innovative classroom and libraries reading areas from the conceptual design phase, using the products featured in their range, through to producing the finished drawings using CAD software.

In addition, you will be integral to the introduction and design of new products to enhance the range, and to designing bespoke focal pieces for large scale installations.

The role is considered to be a key one and the post holder will establish trust, confidence and rapport with customers in order to fully meet their requirements within agreed timescales and budgets.

Person / Experience Required:

  • A formal relevant design qualification
  • A minimum of two years' experience of furniture / interior design.
  • To be a confident and commercially astute designer
  • To be competent with SketchUp, InDesign, Excel and Word
  • Have excellent creative and interpersonal skills

This is a full-time role, hours are 37.5 per week, Mon - Fri around a core time of 9am - 4pm. Travel is an essential part of this role so a full, clean driving licence is required. A company pool car is provided for customer visits.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Managing the design and development process and effectively running many different projects simultaneously

This family run business produce and deliver a diverse range of sets and props for events, product launches, exhibitions, sampling campaigns and experiential marketing projects with high levels of customer service and quality finish. Their in-house services include event design and production, project management, spray finishing, sewing and costume, operations, logistics and storage. They also love dogs and have a special dog creche on site.

As the Workshop Manager you will be responsible for the full end to end production build for all projects - taking the lead on production builds from brief through to delivery. Managing the workshop space, outside yard and storage containers you will oversee a sub contract production team which can vary in size from 1 to 20, depending on each project.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Ideally from a theatrical or exhibition background with experience in production of a broad range of sets, props and modular units, at a senior level
  • Adaptable, flexible with an accommodating attitude
  • An understanding of the ever changing demands of high-end brands is essential
  • Strong leadership and production skills and able to work under pressure with often tight deadlines
  • Experience with software including AutoCAD / SketchUp would be an added benefit
  • Qualification or experience in health and safety compliance and buildings maintenance would be an added benefit but is not essential

This individual will work closely with the sales and design team to assist with turning enquiries into concept drawings and designs that can be costed before gaining the client’s approval.

The successful applicant will be responsible for producing SolidWork drawings and modeling of standard, tailored and bespoke products for customer approval and manufacture. This will involve liaising with customers, sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure all design solutions are in order, the designer will also be generating space plans, 2D drawings, some graphics and concept imagery in response to their customers’ specific requirements.

For the right person there will be an opportunity to be involved in new product development as well.


Person / Experience Required:

  • 2+ years' experience from the design sector using SolidWorks

To help with their growth and react to their increasingly busy workload they have created a new key position of Prototyper. The main remit is to build and amend prototypes for new products being developed. This includes building prototypes from new as well as amending existing items.

Duties include constructing new Prototypes from sketches or manufacturing drawings, amending existing prototypes received from suppliers, advising on foams / webbing / construction of frame, advising on improvements with regard to design and upholstery at concept stage and providing input for value engineering.

They ideally want someone that likes a challenge and has lots of initiative as well as upholstery skills. There will be other projects apart from upholstery so they need you to be flexible also

To successfully apply for a position as a furniture designer, you will be expected to demonstrate your creative skills, your technical ability, and your commercial awareness of this sector.
