Contract clients over the past 12 months have included National Trust, Bespoke Hotels, Jumeirah and London Edwardian Hotels and they are now seeking a Designer to work as part of the design team providing creative and technical designs for clients working across both residential and contract projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creation of hand sketches, 2D drawings and 3D visuals for client proposals
  • Producing accurate elevation drawings
  • Visiting clients on site to create measured surveys
  • Working closely with key suppliers, sourcing new materials and inspiration from the wider industry
  • Concept creation, design development and client-facing presentations
  • Producing specifications and schedules for design projects

Person / Experience Required:

  • Architecture or Design related degree
  • 1-2 years of design-based work experience
  • Good CAD software skills 2D + 3D, ideally in VectorWorks (training can be provided), Photoshop and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent presentation skills and confident to present design work to clients
  • A creative flair and ability to create engaging hand sketches demonstrating concepts
  • Demonstrable knowledge of materials and basic construction techniques
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with suppliers
  • A full, clean UK driving licence

This privately owned English company, has a brand name synonymous with luxury lighting and furniture products and supply to the most prestigious hotel, yacht and residential projects around the world.

As part of small team you will help to expand their creative resources with your excellent hand drawing skills, taking concepts or existing designs, developing and detailing to create exceptional lighting and furniture pieces. Liaising with both creative and technical you'll support the launch of their new collections from many angles including, technical and installation instructions, customisation of product designs and developing Display or Exhibition concept designs.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Relevant degree in product design or equivalent

  • At least 6 months' relevant experience in industry

They are current recruiting for a Product Development Manager that can project manage the delivery of new products to enhance the Company's product range.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Managing the design and development process and effectively running many different projects simultaneously
  • Keeping projects on track and on schedule and using initiative to overcome any set-backs or delays
  • Maintaining relations with suppliers and prototype providers, modifying or adjusting prototypes as needed
  • Liaising with Quality Control to ensure that the products developed conform to the required quality standards
  • Regular contact with customers to retain an in depth knowledge of needs and desires
  • Achieving efficient working and meeting agreed launch deadlines for new products
  • Managing overheads to keep costs within any specified budgets
  • Balancing cost control with quality maintenance to ensure problem-free products

Person / Experience Required:

  • Design degree or equivalent

  • Experience with manufacturing / engineering drawings and AutoCAD
  • Previous experience working with plastics techniques such as rotational moulding and injection moulding is an advantage but not a necessity
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role for an in-house design team in a growing, ambitious business. You will lead a multidisciplinary design team, providing support to the product design and 3D visualisation teams.

  • Leading, line managing and motivating the Product Design and Artwork teams
  • Providing internal training and inductions for new starters, as well as regular product training for the sales team to ensure excellent portfolio knowledge
  • Ensuring all products are compliant with the relevant test standards
  • Leading supplier negotiations on prices and purchasing terms

Person / Experience Required:

  • Degree qualified in Industrial Design / Product Design and a track record in technical product design
  • Fully creative and confident in project managing all that is encompassed in the product design process
  • Experience within the play sector would be an advantage but not necessity
  • APMP or Prince 2 Training would also be preferred but not a necessity
  • The ability to manage the delivery of a number of complex projects simultaneously, thriving under pressure
  • Commercially aware with a with strong presentation and communication skills
  • An excellent knowledge of materials and industrial manufacturing processes
  • Excellent data handling and analysis skills
  • A full, clean driving licence and the willingness to travel if required
  • SolidEdge or SolidWorks and ideally 3D Studio Max

This individual will work closely with the sales and design team to assist with turning enquiries into concept drawings and designs that can be costed before gaining the client’s approval.

The successful applicant will be responsible for producing SolidWork drawings and modeling of standard, tailored and bespoke products for customer approval and manufacture. This will involve liaising with customers, sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure all design solutions are in order, the designer will also be generating space plans, 2D drawings, some graphics and concept imagery in response to their customers’ specific requirements.

For the right person there will be an opportunity to be involved in new product development as well.


Person / Experience Required:

  • 2+ years' experience from the design sector using SolidWorks
