They are currently recruiting a Bespoke Design Engineer to work on bespoke orders undertaking the design, development and detailing of feasible solutions, and their associated products, for manufacture. Also providing a high level of technical advice / project support to internal and external customers which includes working closely with the customer and internal departments in establishing the feasibility and realisation of product design specifications. You will also be undertaking simulations, thermal calculations and prototyping and producing fully detailed 3D models for manufacturing purposes.

Person / Experience required:

  • Degree qualified in Product Design or Industrial Design, or similar discipline
  • 3+ years' experience working within a design environment for a technical / specialist products company
  • Experience using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Experience and understanding of sheet metal fabrication and its impact on design would be beneficial
  • Have a solution based approach with strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills for the successful completion of projects
  • Good sketching skills would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills, able to identify customers' needs and understand technical information

This British furniture and home accessories retailer with a number of stores nationwide and an online website source their luxury pieces with an eye for beauty, comfort and unique style.

They are currently seeking a product / furniture designer to work with the creative directors in the design studio based at their Head Office just south of Oxford. The individual will work on a variety of creative and artistic ideas for their whole range both current and new. The role requires someone to think creatively but be able to design and translate technically with the aid of CAD software and the Adobe CS suite. Tasks usually include: sketching initial design ideas; making samples or working models by hand; researching materials, processes or market requirements and travelling to companys production facilities, occasionally abroad.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Degree in Furniture Design, Product Design or 3D Design
  • A logical and pragmatic approach to problem solving and designing functional solutions
  • Knowledge of mechanics, joinery, machine cutting, material finishes along with at least 3 years' industry experience in a workshop scenario or a mixed technical / creative role
  • Knowledge of 2D & 3D routing CAD software
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD and rendering packages such as Rhinoceros and AutoCAD
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
  • Able to work in a fast-paced design / production practice
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal, sketch and presentation
  • Ideally an all-round general knowledge for product development of plastics, metals, resins and woodwork

You will be working on the low to mid-priced products for the retail clients that are manufactured in China and have a fast turnaround on design. This will involve following clients briefs and identifying and creating new lighting products, producing the CAD drawings to send to the factory, obtaining samples, making any amendments required and seeing it through to production and delivery.

This is an ideal role for someone just starting out in industry and offers plenty of room for progression.

Person / Experience Required:

  • A recent graduate in Industrial Design or Product Design
  • Work placement experience in a manufacturing environment would be ideal

With a busy design and engineering team they are now seeking a designer who is enthusiastic, creative and with an eye for detail. This individual will work closely with the sales team to assist with turning enquiries into concept drawings and designs that can be costed before gaining the client’s approval.

The successful applicant will be responsible for detailing standard, tailored and bespoke products for customer approval and manufacture. This will involve liaising with customers, sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure all solutions are in order, to secure future projects, the applicant will also liaise with the Sales Team to generate CAD models, space plans, 2D drawings and concept imagery in response to their customers’ specific requirements.


Person / Experience Required:

  • 2+ years' experience from the furniture / interiors sector
  • Furniture or Product Design degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good concept design and 3D modelling abilities
  • A high level of initiative and organisational ability would be expected with good interpersonal skills
  • A good working knowledge of SolidWorks will be needed, with AutoCAD and 3D Studio an advantage although not essential

Along with selling to high net worth individuals they partner with interior designers, architects and other luxury retail companies, creating unique lighting and furniture.

They are currently recruiting for a Design Estimator who will be responsible for raising quotations for the purpose of pricing up unique items custom made in-house in their North London atelier workshops.

You will need to collect and analyse data in order to estimate the time and materials required to manufacture a product. Responsible for issuing quotations to the Sales Team you will work closely with the company Creative Director with an emphasis on retaining the integrity, quality and exclusivity of company designs. As the Design Estimator you will need to ensure clear instruction for feasible manufacturing processes and accurate purchasing information is conveyed to enable made-to-order pieces are produced within specification according to budgeted costs.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Experience to include estimating / costing and design within manufacturing of interior products for the luxury goods design sector
  • Ideally 5 years plus experience
  • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and costs
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
  • Analytical, problem solving and time management skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English, with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to write detailed reports and a strong ability in mathematics is essential

You will be responsible for taking projects through the full design cycle, from designing and costing the playground, producing detailed AutoCAD layouts and on to producing 2D/3D visualisations, image boards and presentations, ready for the area sales managers, the customers and public consultations. You will work as an individual, but at the same time collaborating with a team of eight designers and twenty area sales managers to produce work to the highest possible standard.

Person / Experience Required:

  • A creative eye with the ability to freehand draw
  • A design related degree, e.g. Landscape Design, Product Design or Interior Design
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and 3DS Max (or similar) plus experience in Adobe Creative Suite and Vray
  • A recent graduate with up to 2 years' experience in play or another related design industry
