This international company design and source premium products for promotional purposes on a global basis and are looking for a middleweight product designer. You would be expected to design a wide range of items, including fashion accessories, and some graphics and packaging design. They are looking for someone who is a strong conceptual thinker, with a flexible approach and the ability to deliver multiple projects simultaneously to tight deadlines.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Excellent visualisation skills and ability to express and illustrate
  • Minimum of 3+ years' commercial experience in a product design related role
  • Good level of knowledge in Adobe CS and MS Office
  • A broad knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
  • An interest in new technologies, fashion trends and forecasting are essential

CAD Technician and Kitchen Designer roles - Hertfordshire - negotiable (V03326)

A second generation family company, they have been designing and installing quality kitchens for almost 20 years. Clients include architects, interior designers, developers and private clients, their attention to detail and creative flair makes the whole process of creating new kitchens enjoyable and stress free. 

They have two Showrooms in South Hertfordshire and are seeking candidates for both:

1. Full or Part time (at least 3 days per week) CAD Technician. This is not a sales role although you will be meeting and greeting clients. Salary between GBP16,000 to GBP18,000 per annum (based on 5 days)

2. Full time Designer - Monday-Friday (no Saturdays required at present) to work alongside the director with developers on the contract side of the business. Salary will be GBP24,000 per annum + 10% GP commission on personal sales. Potential for OTE of GBP45,000 to GBP50,000.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Good hand drawing and CAD skills - they use both Planit and ArchiCAD
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Previous experience in industry relevant to the roles
  • Smart and professional
  • Self-motivated and happy to work on your own when needed
  • Numerate

This company designs and installs luxury interiors for retail, hospitality, residential and commercial properties. With over 25 years' of experience their reputation is built on personal recommendation and results. They have an in-house joinery facility and offer a completely bespoke service. It is for this division that they now seek an experienced draughtsperson, mainly for high-end interior retail fit outs. Although they will consider someone with a little less experience they are ideally looking for knowledge of joinery fabrications on retail projects.

The candidate should have several years of experience in creating manufacturing level drawings and cutting lists for complete bespoke items ranging from kitchens to jewellery showcases, to staircases, to reception desks, to bathroom cabinets. 


Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • To carry out site surveys and create new site setting out drawings based on site measures
  • Attend design meetings
  • To overlay all trades on the drawings to ensure there are no clashes
  • Create new drawings and cutting lists for joinery production
  • To create materials schedules and sketches for any special order items
  • Monitor the clients' drawings to identify any variations
  • To monitor factory production to ensure compliance to the drawings

Person / Experience Required:

  • Good strong technical skills with experience of producing joinery drawings, ideally on retail projects
  • AutoCAD knowledge in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to understand how a whole array of materials can work together including timber, glass, metal, stone, plastic
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to liaise with individuals within the company and external to the company
  • Meet deadlines
  • Enthusiastic / Flexible / Dynamic

Person / Experience Required:

  • At least 5 years' experience in an Interior Designer role
  • Good design skills that are balanced with practicalities of site
  • Innovative in both design and problem solving
  • Genuine interest in trends within the house and interior design sectors
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Financially aware and able to adhere to budgets
  • To have good problem solving skills, a good communicator - both written and oral

The ideal candidate will come from a product / furniture design background with a minimum of 2-3 years' industry experience.
