Redman Whiteley Dixon is a Superyacht design studio based on the South Coast, looking to employ a talented Creative Interior Designer to work on bespoke yacht interiors.

The successful candidate should be bursting with creativity with proven experience in interior and furniture design. Ideally with experience in high end luxury residential or commercial interiors.

Versatility and design agility are key skills in our studio, with hand drawing equally important, as is SketchUp, Photoshop, Rhino and AutoCAD. Clear communication of ideas is essential.

As a fast-paced design studio, we are looking for someone who is passionate about design, integrates well within the team and for whom quality of work is everything. The successful candidate will need to be adaptable and enthusiastic to play a significant role in our busy and unique studio. At RWD we have a genuine team ethic where work is demanding and rewarding in equal measures. The studio is idyllically located in the New Forest for a great life/work balance. There will be frequent international travel to visit our global client base and shipyards.

Technical Draftsperson - Furniture - London - up to £30,000 (V03082)

They are currently looking for a Technical Draftsperson. This is a pivotal role which enables concept furniture designs to be realized into detailed technical drawings and specifications allowing the items to be manufactured.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed technical drawings to enable the production of furniture, fitted furniture, polished goods, panelling, upholstery, product design & hardware design
  • Communicate with the design team, production team and workshop
  • Assisting with the review and sign off of manufacturer/suppliers drawings & specifications
  • Maintain solid knowledge of luxury brands/trends and have an understanding of the evolving trends
  • Provide technical support and advice to the concept designers

Person / Experience Required:

  • Comprehensive and advanced knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Experience from the furniture industry or similar sector
  • Not essential but helpful to have some knowledge of Solidworks or other 3D programs
  • Self-starting and proactive
  • Team player

They are experimental and innovative and are currently looking for a Project Manager for their fitted furniture division.

This role requires the person to manage multiple projects from the pricing stage through to completion. It involves a high level of organizational skills, the management and sourcing of external suppliers and a good eye for detail whilst demonstrating a strong level of commercial awareness.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review technical construction drawings and product specification
  • Breakdown of projects into components, produce costings/budgets and formulate project timelines
  • Take part in supplier selection, produce/coordinate tender packages for pricing, monitor and control progress and costs
  • Visit workshops and clients' properties to manage and review construction
  • Review internal work hours completed/profitability on projects and report back
  • Seek out new suppliers and review existing supplier performance

Person / Experience Required:

  • Site experience with ability to deal with main contractor and other trades on site
  • Microsoft Office including Word & Excel
  • AutoCAD (2D) would be preferable
  • The ability to learn to use and utilize for reporting purposes any new procurement & accounting software the company may acquire
  • Self-starting and proactive
  • Having had accountability for the smooth running of projects

Our client is an international interior design consultancy with offices worldwide and handles high-end residential and large scale commercial projects. The London studio comprises mainly of the Design and FF&E teams and the company has been established for over 30 years. They are looking to fill two roles. 

1. Assistant Designer - FF&E

To assist the development of concept and production of presentations, development of schematic design up to and including FF&E design. Also to liaise with suppliers, assist in the production of drawings, specifications and FF&E, and assist in the preparation of listings for the FF&E scope. Qualities required are:

  • Recent graduate in Interior Design or similar
  • 6 to 12 months experience within residential design / fabric showroom / interior furnishings
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Able to draw and put together sample boards
  • Prepared to carry out administrative and office duties

2. Design Assistant - FF&E

This award-wining architectural interior design practice is known for designing and building some of the world's finest homes and are looking to hire a Senior Interior Designer to work on a broad range of projects within the high end residential sector. It will be client facing, so strong interpersonal skills and fluent English are a must. You must also have strong technical knowledge and demonstrate a good understanding of all aspects of the Interior Design process from concept through to implementation. You will be working closely with an experienced team of in-house designers, architects, external consultants and contractors, taking the lead on projects so will have natural gravitas.

With excellent conceptual and technical skills you will need an understanding of FF&E and procurement, have a passion for design and strong presentation skills. You will also need an interior design or interior architecture degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience within the luxury residential sector. A full UK driving licence and the availability to travel will be required for this role.
