CNC Operator - Cheshire - up to £30,000 (V04202)

Our client is currently seeking a CNC Operator / Wood Machinist to work with a variety of materials, techniques and a state-of-the-art CNC. Your knowledge and skills will be invaluable, whatever the level you are currently at and you will be working with their in-house laser, making, finishing, and leather teams. They will provide you with an opportunity to develop some of the most innovative construction techniques and iconic furniture found today. They are based near the Cheshire and North Wales borders.


Skills and Experience needed for the CNC Operator:

  • An eye for detail and problem solving
  • Experience of working with wood and ideally the use of traditional wood working machines
  • Ability to operate 3-Axis and 5-Axis CNCs to produce furniture components, jigs and fixtures required by production
  • Ability to machine furniture components, jigs and fixtures with precision and accuracy
  • Good communication and ability to discuss constructional details effectively

This young and vibrant Interior Design Consultancy work with private high-end residential clients offering a bespoke service covering interior architecture, design, styling and furnishing. Their client base spans London, Surrey, Hampshire, Sussex, Berkshire and across the South-East England.

Increasingly busy with lots of exciting new projects in progress they are looking for an Interior Architect to be responsible for creating joinery packages, lighting and general arrangement plans, carrying out site surveys and producing detailed layouts. Helping with all technical aspects of the projects.

As a well-established middle weight designer, you would be working alongside the Design Manager in delivery of a fast paced, deadline driven roll-out refurbishment programme.

Lighting Designer:-

As the Senior Design Estimator your remit is to effectively research and select the best practice processes, materials and suppliers for the purpose of manufacturing company designs. Your goal is to ensure maximum profitability for the company with the combination of affordability and outstanding quality for the customer. You will be expected to have a good rapport with all stakeholders in the business both in-house, and externally with suppliers to maintain and develop good working relationships. 


Key Responsibilities also include to:

  • Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time and raw material, equipment, and labour expenses to prepare and submit RRP quotations for the Sales Team.
  • Understand a supplier’s capabilities through research and visits to gather information on materials and outsourcing.
  • Use internal ERP system to calculate estimates.
  • Read off-plan and CAD technical documents to prepare estimates.

Skills and Experience expected for the Senior Design Estimator role:

  • Experience of costing, budgeting and design within the manufacturing of interior products for the (ideally) high-end design sector.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
  • Numerate with good Microsoft Office skills and able to administrate a database.
  • Degree qualified.
  • Analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Furniture Estimator - North West England - up to £40,000 (V04196)

Our client is a British studio and workshop known for their original design, progressive craftsmanship and advanced technologies. They create luxury furniture for residences, yachts, and private aircraft worldwide and due to continued growth are looking for an Estimator to work alongside their Senior Estimator.

Responsible for estimating bespoke furniture and artwork wall panels, this would suit an experienced cabinet maker looking to use their making knowledge and skills to transition into an estimating role. Full training can be given in estimating if needed although you will already need to be IT literate including being able to use MS Excel.

The role of Furniture Estimator will also involve:

  • Providing support to business development, sales, design and project managers from enquiry through to installation.
  • Accurate assessment of the material quantities, processes and labour required to construct furniture.
  • Understanding and interpreting drawings (2D and 3D CAD models, renderings, visuals and sketches).
  • Producing written technical specifications and pricing documents.
  • Revising quotations in response to design alterations and variations to contract.
  • Researching new materials and suppliers when needed.
  • Placing of orders and management of suppliers.


Skills and experience needed for the Furniture Estimator role:

  • Good knowledge of bespoke furniture making and an ability to understand and interpret technical drawings.
  • Over 5 years’ experience within fine furniture making.
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and a methodical approach.
  • Time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritise workload from a variety of different sources.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective, strong, and professional working relationships at all levels.
  • Proactively contribute ideas for improving practices and efficiency.

In return our client can offer a permanent, full-time position. Monday to Friday 8am - 16:15 (37.5-hour week).
