Senior Furniture Designer / Head of Design - South West England - negotiable (V03859)

This company is a specialist in architecture joinery and fitted furniture for historical and period properties. They work with a variety of beautiful buildings across the UK and abroad. Everything they design is completely bespoke, and their 12,000sq.ft. modern workshop houses a dedicated team of cabinet-makers and finishers.

They are currently seeking to fill a key role for the business so the successful candidate will need plenty of experience within the furniture and joinery sector in a client facing role.

It is important that you have knowledge and a firm grasp of historical furniture and architectural details both in a classical and contemporary setting.


Other skills and experience:

  • Proven experience within the interiors marketplace, able to sketch out designs freehand and draw up space plans using AutoCAD
  • Strong leadership skills and communication skills
  • Confident in handling client presentations in a client facing role
  • An ideas person with good listening skills and the ability to generate concepts sympathetic to the client’s needs and home
  • You will need to be well-organized and committed, able to work to deadlines and manage a number of projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of building design and architecture a distinct advantage

This new business currently based in London but shortly moving out to Ascot, design, develop and make luxury furniture for both the Residential and Commercial marketplaces.

With a growing level of business they are looking for an additional upholsterer to join the team.

You should have at least 4 years' experience in this role and ideally with good knowledge of seaming and fabric cutting as well.

This bespoke interior design practice over the last 10 years has flourished into a multi-million pound business with a reputation for great original ideas and design. They work for many major and high-end developers across the country, with their core business being forged in London.

In order to develop further, they are seeking a dedicated sales manager / account manager with the main remit to help in securing new business from the mid-range market with national housebuilders and developers nationwide.

They are looking for someone already working within the design or property development industry with a proven track record in sales. They may consider a designer however who is ready to move their career forward into a new business development role and has strong client liaison, negotiating and sales skills.


Requirements for the Sales Manager:

  • Proven experience with selling to the interiors marketplace
  • A strong appreciation or past experience within design
  • Experienced in handling and presenting to clients
  • Organised and numerate with strong administrative skills for keeping records / diary entries
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (oral, written and presentational)
  • Happy to travel nationwide but to visit their studio in the Midlands regularly
  • Able to operate self-sufficiently in a partly field based role

This well-established architecture and interior design firm based in Bahrain is currently seeking an experienced Interior Designer to manage its interior design division, overseeing a range of residential, retail and hospitality projects for the company's discerning clients across the Gulf region.

With a clear vision and an eye for detail, they incorporate crisp, clean architecture with rich textures and exceptional furnishings, creating spaces that are both sophisticated and warm. The Designer will work directly with principals to manage and oversee all interiors, finishes, furniture and decoration from project conceptualization through installation.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Minimum 7 years' previous experience in high-end Interior Design
  • Strong custom furniture, upholstery and drapery detailing and installation experience
  • Excellent communication skills dealing with clients, contractors and other vendors
  • Capable of delegating and leading junior designers / assistants to carry out multiple projects
  • Strong work ethic with a great attention to detail
  • AutoCAD and SketchUp skills and proficiency with software such as PowerPoint, Adobe CS and Microsoft Office
