Product Design Engineer - Buckinghamshire - up to £30,000 (V04018)

Well-known for creating finely detailed and high-quality commercial furniture for the workplace, our client is currently seeking a Product Design Engineer to work on a variety of prestigious and challenging projects. The role will require close communication with both the design and production team so you will be working mainly in the office although there is the possibility for some flexibility.
 
The successful applicant will be responsible for working on all the engineering aspects of standard and bespoke products for customer approval and manufacture. This will involve the generation of CAD models, production drawings, manufacturing detailing for the CNC machines and helping to refine value engineering and new solutions to the drawing and production process.
 
This role will evolve around the individual’s strengths and skills with opportunities down the line to be involved in design, presentation and visualisation work if of interest.
 
Skills and experience needed for the Product Design Engineer:
  • At least 1 year of experience from the furniture, product or industrial engineering sectors
  • Strong drawing and technical detailing skills
  • SolidWorks is essential, AutoCAD and 3D Studio an advantage but not a necessity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of initiative and organisational ability would be expected with good problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of CNC machining would be useful

Senior Interior Designer - Warwickshire - up to £50,000 (V04017)

Key responsibilities for the Senior Interior Designer:
  • Managing a team of Designers working on the client’s new stores
  • Responsible for the production of and consistency of the schematic / feasibility layouts and full drawing packs
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with the client’s manual & design developments
  • Liaising with the supply chain for design development, procurement, quotes, stock etc.
  • Creative ideas for new concepts and evolution of design development
  • Project Management and workload planning
 
Skills and experience required for the Senior Interior Designer:
  • Experience working in a similar supervisory Interior Design role
  • Experience of designing projects in the hospitality sector
  • Able to liaise with clients, contractors and multiple stakeholders
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office, Adobe CS, AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • An understanding of the whole design process from brief to completion
  • Ability to provide creative solutions whilst also meeting technical requirements
  • Good project management ability
  • Strong analytical planning and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills, a clear and confident communicator
In return the salary on offer is between £40k to £50k with some hybrid working opportunities. There is also Perkbox membership and a Pension scheme. They have a car park and the office can also be reached by public transport.

Head of Design - West Midlands - up to £50,000 (V04016)

This award-winning interior design studio specialises within the residential marketplace tailoring the design and service around their clients' needs. They have built up over many years a trusted network of partners to create tailor-made joinery, upholstery, artwork and soft furnishings. They are also able to offer CGI imagery, styling and a full installation and fit-out service.
 
They are currently looking to fill the role of Head of Design which will encompass both residential and commercial projects. You will be responsible for both the in-house designers and the freelance designers which form their design team, ensuring all design schemes meet the company standards and profit goals, as well as ensuring the design department runs smoothly and efficiently.
 
Main responsibilities for the Head of Design include:
  • Overseeing the design of all showhome projects
  • Project leading on all commercial projects

As the Head Office based in the Midlands, the ideal candidate would be living within a 1 hour commuting time as you would be expected to be in office at least 3 days per week. You will be provided with a laptop and mobile phone and the salary on offer will be between £45k and £50k.

The Design Manager role is to work directly with a luxury automotive client to support them with creating and developing their corporate and visual identity standards across their wider businesses, providing them with deliverable design solutions. They offer flexible working arrangements either hybrid or remote.
Key Responsibilities for the Design Manager (CI):
  • Responsible for the quality of the Corporate and Visual Identity guidelines and how they are applied across all projects within their portfolio
  • Providing architectural guidance so that all projects comply with their Corporate and Visual Identity guidelines
  • Providing recommendations on architectural drawings and design schemes
  • Supporting the development of any updates to their Corporate and Visual Identity manual
  • Support and guidance on the design intent pack process and managing the approvals process
  • Developing and maintaining a tracking system for the projects and drawings reviewed
  • Liaising with key regional and market stakeholders
  • Managing compliance of facility plans, advising globally and locally where appropriate

Skills and Experience required for the Design Manager (CI):
  • Client-focussed with excellent client management skills
  • Experience already gained managing clients and in a similar commercial interiors marketplace
  • Fully proficient in design software, such as 2D AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp
  • Flexible in approach and willing to travel, including outside of the UK as required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills, focused and the ability to multi-task, prioritise projects and meet deadlines in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
  • Experience in 3D Studio Max, Revit and Adobe Illustrator would be desirable

Furniture Designer / Junior Kitchen Designer - London - up to £35,000 (V04012)

Inspired by the beauty and precision of historical detail and experienced in the use of modern materials and techniques, our client is an award-winning maker of bespoke furniture and architectural joinery.
 
They are currently seeking a CAD Designer who is keen to progress their career and have the opportunity to work on some truly bespoke and creative projects. They use a wide variety of materials and design styles to meet the client's brief and work in both modern and period houses. It will therefore be useful if you have a good understanding of historical furniture, period detailing and joinery construction, so your schemes work in harmony with the architecture of the building.
There is an opportunity to move into a sales role down the line but only if the candidate is interested otherwise it can stay a technical and support role.
 
Cad Designer's duties:
  • Working closely with the Sales Designer to produce detailed drawings of bespoke furniture
  • Attending client & internal meetings taking detailed notes to understand the design brief
  • Producing services drawings for sites
  • Ensuring all technical details are translated
  • Specifying technical elements (hinges, slides, covers etc.)
 
Skills and Experience for the CAD Designer / Junior Sales Designer:
  • Sound knowledge of CAD software, Cabinet Vision would be an advantage but not a necessity
  • Detail orientated and a team player
  • Some experience gained already from the residential or fitted furniture marketplace
  • A knowledge of quality kitchen appliances, work surfaces and sanitaryware would be beneficial
Salary and benefits:
They will provide plenty of training and guidance. The salary will be up to £35k depending on experience. This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week with 29 days holiday (including Bank Holidays), plus 1 additional day for every 5 years' employment served.
