Bathroom Sales Designer - London - up to £40,000 (V04108)

Our client offers one of the most comprehensive design services in the Bathroom sector, with the widest selection of products paired with a tailored approach to each project.
 
Known for their expertise with the mid to upper marketplace, inspiration comes from grand spaces to bijou wet rooms, in a myriad range of styles from modern to traditional or transitional. They supply anything from tubs to taps, showers, tiles, furniture, wall coverings, colour schemes, accessories and storage.
 
They are currently seeking a Bathroom Sales Designer for each of their showrooms in SW London.
 
Main Duties of the Bathroom Sales Designer:
  • To meet with clients and offer a full design and sales service
  • Follow-up on leads, quotations and order payments
  • Provide detailed information and advice on world renowned luxury bathroom brands
  • Build strong relationships with clients in both Trade and Retail to generate repeat business
  • Developing business and being proactive by approaching new / old trade clients to generate new leads
Skills and Experience needed from the Bathroom Sales Designer:
  • Previous bathroom sales and design experience dealing with known luxury bathroom brands
  • A strong flair for selling and design with a high degree of motivation
  • CAD literate (they use Virtual Worlds and SketchUp)
  • Customer-focused, with a positive attitude and good people communication skills
  • Confident in working with high-net worth clients where discretion and a high level of professionalism is required
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work on several projects at the same time

Sales Designer - North East England - up to £28,000 (V03971)

Our client is part of the largest and longest established kitchen supply and manufacturing business in the UK with 500,000 sq.ft. of in-house manufacturing premises at their headquarters in the North-East of England.
 
They have created the new role of Sales Designer to be responsible for bringing in new business, both B2B and private customers. They have an extensive range of design choices to offer clients and they will provide training in technical drawing if needed. This is a mainly office-based role.
 
There is also an opportunity for a Technical Kitchen Designer which is a non-sales role to join the team.
 
Skills and experience for the Sales Designer role:
  • At least 2 years' proven sales track-record ideally within the KBB or Interiors marketplace
  • An efficient, professional communicator - both verbally and in the written form
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
  • A problem solver and lateral thinker who thrives under pressure
  • Motivated, with the ability to both self-manage and work as part of a team
  • Ideally, competent in using Winner and/or EQ software packages
In return there is a salary of c£28k on offer with an OTE of £38k+ (£25k for the Technical Designer), company pension and staff purchase scheme.

Sales Account Manager - Remote working - up to £35,000 (V03967)

This bespoke interior design practice over the last 12 years has flourished into a multi-million pound business with a reputation for great original ideas and design. They work for many major and high-end developers across the country, with their core business being forged in London.
 
This steady growth has up until now been without the need for advertising or a sales team, however in order to move forward further, they are seeking a dedicated Sales Account Manager. The main remit will be to secure new business from the mid-range market with national housebuilders and developers nationwide. They are also however increasingly working in the “dress to sell market” and on private residential, communal and leisure facilities.
 
They are ideally looking for someone already with a proven track record in sales within the interior design industry for this mainly field based role.
 
Requirements for the Sales Account Manager role:
  • Proven experience with selling to the interiors marketplace
  • A strong appreciation or past experience within design
  • Experienced in handling and presenting to clients
  • Organised and numerate with strong administrative skills for keeping records / diary entries
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (oral, written and presentational)
  • Happy to travel nationwide but to visit their studio in the Midlands regularly
  • Able to operate self-sufficiently in a partly field based role

Salary will be negotiable with a bonus/commission structure, car/car allowance, mobile, laptop, pension and healthcare scheme.

Whilst the majority of vacancies posted here at Careers in Design are weighted towards the creative aspects of the design industry, we have a whole section of posts available for sales, admin and support positions in the same sector.

The nature of any given sales job will depend very much on the parent company and how it operates. With some, their products are designed with a mass market appeal, and the role of the sales team is to encourage wholesalers and retailers to purchase in bulk orders and often liaising with the supply chain on pricing policies.

With other companies, what you will be selling is the ability of their creative team. You will be there in the field, promoting the company as their ambassador, convincing other businesses that they should take your company on as designers for a given project. These meetings can be crucial for the success of your business because, while the minutiae of the deal will be thrashed out by a project or commercial manager the principles of the agreement are established by you and your team as a way of getting your collective feet in the door.

Successful applicants will be expected to be engaging and determined, ideally with a track record of success in the area of sales. They will need to demonstrate a knowledge of the design sector and to be able to pitch them convincingly to a third party. Despite not being part of the design team, knowledge of the design process will be an advantage.
