Business Development Manager (Field Based) - Essex - up to £36,000 (V03978)

As a thriving online business their website is their “shop front” and they need to increase their design sales force to meet the demand for their products.
 
They currently have a few opportunities in different regions to join their field-based team including a Business Development Manager for the county of Essex.  All leads will be generated in-house and you will be given an average of 40 enquiries per month to contact, arrange visits and convert into design and sales.
 
Skills and experience needed for the Business Development Manager:
 
  • A minimum of 5 years' proven experience in designing and selling within the luxury interiors sector 
  • CAD literate
  • Happy and able to be mobile with your own car to visit clients
  • You should be well-presented to generate a first impression creating confidence with their discerning clients
  • Able to manage your own diary and arrange client visits, punctual and courteous
  • A good listener to understand the specific storage needs, design and requirements of your client
  • Meticulous and accurate to be able to take precise site measurements and relay your design solutions to the in-house Drawing and Quotation Team
 
In return they are offering an attractive remuneration package of:
 
  • Basic £36k per annum
  • Commission 3% of sales plus bonus' on a sliding scale
  • Travelling expenses and extensive training and support for you to succeed and the ability to work from home. 
  • Realistic OTE £80,000.00+ per year

This bespoke interior design practice over the last 12 years has flourished into a multi-million pound business with a reputation for great original ideas and design. They work for many major and high-end developers across the country, with their core business being forged in London.
 
This steady growth has up until now been without the need for advertising or a sales team, however in order to move forward further, they are seeking a dedicated Sales Account Manager. The main remit will be to secure new business from the mid-range market with national housebuilders and developers nationwide. They are also however increasingly working in the “dress to sell market” and on private residential, communal and leisure facilities.
 
They are ideally looking for someone already with a proven track record in sales within the interior design industry for this mainly field based role.
 
Requirements for the Sales Account Manager role:
  • Proven experience with selling to the interiors marketplace
  • A strong appreciation or past experience within design
  • Experienced in handling and presenting to clients
  • Organised and numerate with strong administrative skills for keeping records / diary entries
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (oral, written and presentational)
  • Happy to travel nationwide but to visit their studio in the Midlands regularly
  • Able to operate self-sufficiently in a partly field based role

Salary will be negotiable with a bonus/commission structure, car/car allowance, mobile, laptop, pension and healthcare scheme.

Design Account Manager - Worcestershire - up to £55,000 (V03952)

Based in the Midlands they are currently looking for an account manager or director to liaise with existing new build customers on Showhomes and to progress new leads. The client base will be National House Builders across the UK, except Scotland. Most of the existing clients are in the North of England, they don’t have fixed geographic regions.
 
Summary of responsibilities for the Account Manager: 
  • Taking Briefs
  • Liaising with Designers
  • Carrying out presentation to customers
  • Liaising with customers regarding dates / changes
  • Doing customer handovers of the showhome

This would particularly suit an individual who has an interior design or creative background wanting to expand their career in an account management and business development route.

 
Skills and experience needed for the Account Manager:
  • The candidate will need to have a design background, sales experience and a warm and friendly personality

In return:

The Director is currently looking for a creative and organized individual to support the Director handling suppliers, sourcing new products, arranging meetings with clients, assisting with the preparation of various projects, design coordination and general administrative duties. This is a very varied role and would particularly suit someone who has worked in a support role within an interior design practice, luxury fabrics showroom or within FF&E.

There will be plenty of opportunities for progression as the role develops.

Day to day responsibilities for the Studio Design Assistant also include:

  • Sourcing fabric samples
  • Procurement of orders and authorising invoices for payment
  • Arranging shipments and collection of deliveries
  • Logistics and on-site installation works

Backround and skills needed for the Studio Design Assistant:

  • A good understanding and ability to use of Excel and able to issue sales invoices
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience from a London residential interior design practise

  • Attention to detail, organised and efficient with high level administrative skills
  • Excellent research skills and the ability to compile and present that information

Our client is passionate about beautiful bathrooms and offer a carefully curated collection of bathroom furnishings and finishes. They sell products via their website, over the phone or by email. The items sold are a mixture of in-stock items and items that are made-to-order through a trusted network of craftsman and suppliers.

Due to the volume of sales and the growth of the business they are now looking for a senior manager to take over duties from the founder in managing the business processes and people for delivering customer orders; from the initial point of client contact through ordering and to final delivery and after sales care.

It is a full-time role and will require the successful candidate to work from the Head Office with appropriate Covid related protections. There will be some flexibility for home working and the possibility of a 4-day week for the right candidate.

Overall Responsibilities for the Business Manager:

You will be required to manage a team of 3 people which includes hiring, structuring and training more people as the company continues to grow over the next few years. Your priorities will sit equally in sales (providing clear information to customers and staff when dealing with customers) and in operations (all the processes that happen behind the scenes for the smooth ordering and delivery of products to customers). This role is all about managing people and processes and ensuring the business operates smoothly and will best suit someone who gets a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction from setting up and managing IT systems, data and processes.

Skills and Experience Required for the Business Manager:

  • People Management experience
  • Driven with high standards for quality and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service ethos and manner and ability to handle high-end clients with high expectations
  • Positive attitude, calm demeanour and not easily flustered
  • Previous experience managing business processes and teams in order to deliver a product or service to customers

General Employment Terms:

  • Full-time and permanent, there is some capacity to work from home and/or a 4-day week
  • Salary range £50k to £60k pa
  • Statutory 28 days paid annual leave each year plus when the office is closed between Christmas and New Year
  • Annual bonus in relation to business growth and profitability

Due to natural growth and an increase in business again, they are seeking an additional Kitchen Designer. The role will allow flexibility with some home working and although all the leads will be provided, you must be able to and be prepared to drive to visit customers' homes.

Skills and experience needed for the Kitchen Designer role:

  • Strong and proven track record within kitchen design and sales
