Design and Sales Consultant (Field Based) - North West England - negotiable (V03870)

This leading supplier of beautiful bespoke wardrobes and dressing rooms for luxury residential properties has a clientele from across the UK. They work from concept to installation, bestowing a personable approach with every design reflecting the individual lifestyle and storage needs of each client.

As an online business their website is their “shop front” and despite the current challenging economic conditions, they are thriving as a business and need to increase their design sales force to meet the demand for their products.

Ideally based within a 20 miles radius of Macclesfield your area will stretch as far as Preston and Liverpool, across to Leeds and down as far as Leicestershire. All leads will be generated in-house and you will be given an average of 40 enquiries per month to contact, arrange visits and convert into design and sales.

Experience and Skills Required for the Design and Sales Consultant:

  • A minimum of 5 years' proven experience in designing and selling within the luxury interiors sector (kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms or other fitted furniture)
  • CAD literate, ideally VectorWorks, AutoCAD or ArtiCAD
  • Happy and able to be mobile with your own presentable car to visit clients
  • You should be well-presented to generate a first impression that creates confidence with their discerning clients
  • Able to manage your own diary and arrange client visits
  • A good listener to understand the specific storage needs, design and requirements of your client
  • Creative and able to produce high-quality designs to achieve customer specifications and budget
  • Meticulous and accurate to be able to take precise site measurements and relay your design solutions to the in-house Drawing and Quotation Team

In return:

They offer an attractive remuneration package for the right candidate. You will have a choice of:

  • £25,000 basic plus 5% commission on sales
  • No basic and a straight 10% commission on sales

Realistic OTE is £60,000 per annum, plus travelling expenses. You'll get extensive training and support for you to succeed and have the ability to work from home.

This bespoke interior design practice over the last 10 years has flourished into a multi-million pound business with a reputation for great original ideas and design. They work for many major and high-end developers across the country, with their core business being forged in London.

In order to develop further, they are seeking a dedicated sales manager / account manager with the main remit to help in securing new business from the mid-range market with national housebuilders and developers nationwide.

They are looking for someone already working within the design or property development industry with a proven track record in sales. They may consider a designer however who is ready to move their career forward into a new business development role and has strong client liaison, negotiating and sales skills.


Requirements for the Sales Manager:

  • Proven experience with selling to the interiors marketplace
  • A strong appreciation or past experience within design
  • Experienced in handling and presenting to clients
  • Organised and numerate with strong administrative skills for keeping records / diary entries
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (oral, written and presentational)
  • Happy to travel nationwide but to visit their studio in the Midlands regularly
  • Able to operate self-sufficiently in a partly field based role

This well-established architecture and interior design firm based in Bahrain has a clear vision and an eye for detail, creating crisp, clean architecture with rich textures and exceptional furnishings, creating spaces that are both sophisticated and warm. Fundamental considerations for the studio include light, space planning, and the ideal mix of materials and colours to achieve harmonious and functional spaces.

They also own a prestigious store in Bahrain which offers kitchens, bedrooms and walk-in closets displayed in very contemporary surroundings. It is for this showroom that they are seeking an Interior Designer / Showroom Manager to run it.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Residential interior design experience to include kitchens
  • Good sales skills
  • Organised, with strong management skills
  • Knowledge of running a showroom on a daily basis
  • Smart, presentable with excellent customer facing skills
  • Multiple language skills a bonus but not essential
