As a leading recruitment agency for the design industry we at Careers in Design know that our clients are constantly on the look out for new and exciting applicants with a flair for the creative.
Graduate positions among design firms both large and small are an ideal way for a newly qualified designer to get their foot in the door of this ever-changing sector. Often it can be the first rung on a career ladder that will take you through more senior designer positions, through to project management and beyond, stretching, testing, and improving your own design skills as you progress.
Graduate jobs are usually junior posts and involve working as a member of a team. It’s unusual that you would be working on a company’s flagship product or in a highly creative role initially. It’s more likely that you will be involved in secondary or tertiary projects for the company where you have a chance to demonstrate your skills, whilst utilising a safety net.
Securing a graduate designer job can be more difficult than a mid-level appointment. Often you have little practical experience and are applying on the strength of your degree.
However, this is precisely what companies are looking for when they advertise for graduate vacancies in their firms. They want bright, enthusiastic, and creative young minds that are coming to the industry without any preconceptions. Fresh eyes and fresh ideas are a must along with a willingness to learn and work hard.
With limited experience, your CV needs to read well, in order to get you to that all important interview stage. By registering with Careers in Design you ensure that your CV is read by a real human being, not just stored in a database. We will help you make it as good an advert for your skills as possible, as well as matching you with graduate vacancies on our files.
Use the menu filters above to find the graduate positions we currently hold, and take the first step towards the career of a lifetime.
