Junior Designer - Somerset - negotiable (V04078)

Our client specialises in interior architecture for historical and period properties and have become leaders in their field. They have worked in a variety of beautiful period buildings across the UK and abroad, everything they design is completely bespoke, each property offering the exciting challenge of how to fit them for modern life without compromising their historic elegance and value.
 
They are currently seeking a Graduate / Junior Designer to join their busy design team.
 
Main Responsibilities for the Junior Designer:
  • Assisting in the development and preparation of design schemes, through research and communication of design ideas
  • Gathering content for internal design reviews
  • Developing sketch ideas using 2D and 3D software
  • Assisting with in-house documentation for new business enquiries, client presentations, specification sheets, appliances and schedules
  • Producing 3D printing files for mock ups and ergonomic testing
  • Administrative  project support
 
Skills and experience needed from the Junior Designer:
  • Degree or equivalent in Interior Design, Furniture Design or Architecture
  • Creative with an eye for detail and colour
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Able to use MS Excel and Word
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
  • 3D software would be advantageous such as Autodesk Fusion, Rhino, Sketchup

Our client, as part of a larger group in the KBB sector, specialises in the distribution of design-led, commercially relevant kitchen components for B2B trade partners sold through multiple sales channels and brands. Product development, innovation, and exceptional customer service, continue to be the driving force behind the business.
 
They currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic interior or kitchen designer to join their in-house design team and assist in delivering stunning showroom design solutions for its large and diverse trade customers.
 
The briefs vary from individual kitchen designs to multiple kitchen displays, as well as the development of the company’s own market-leading design centres. You will be producing 3D designs and visuals to demonstrate the design, 2D technical drawings and product breakdowns for order placement and production.
 
Skills and experience needed from the Showroom Designer:
  • 1 - 3 years’ kitchen design experience or a recent design graduate
  • Knowledge of kitchen planning software such as Compusoft Winner, EQ, ArtiCAD, Fusion 2020 or Virtual Worlds
  • Passion for design and impeccable eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork and proactiveness
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Full driving licence
  • AutoCAD or SketchUp would be an advantage but not a necessity
 
Salary:  c£22k plus company pension and life assurance.

Our client is a growing, family-run business who design and create luxury, bespoke kitchens and interiors, specialising in period houses of all sizes. They have a personal, end-to-end, bespoke service that starts with the architecture of the space, working with clients looking at every detail through to making it in their own workshop and the final installation.
 
They are currently recruiting for a Junior / Midweight Production Systems Design Engineer to help in converting kitchen and other furniture bespoke customer project designs into the format required for efficient, high quality and on schedule in-house manufacture.
Skills and Experience sought for the role of Production Systems Design Engineer:
  • 2D/3D modelling design experience in an engineering / manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of furniture manufacture and cabinetmaking would be an advantage
  • Practical understanding of CAM / CNC
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Team orientated with good interpersonal skills
  • Drive, determination and a positive attitude
In return they are offering a salary of £24k to £30k plus 21 days holidays + bank holidays and can help with relocation expenses.

This vibrant design and build company create and fit out bespoke high impact office interiors and seek an additional Interior Designer to strengthen the team and work on some new projects they have recently won.
 
They have three current requirements: a Technical Interior Designer, a Midweight and a Junior Interior Designer. The roles will have a wide variety of responsibilities with the Technical Interior Designer working on projects from design brief through to realisation of the design and drawing packages and on to installation. The Interior Designers will be involved in attending client meetings, space planning, concept generating including mood boards sketches and visuals, site surveying and working through to installation.
 
They offer flexible working where possible and aligned with training; you will be working from either their West Sussex or London office as your base location with travel expenses covered to the secondary office and dedicated projects. Where possible working from home is offered 1 day a week.
 
The junior Interior Designer will be a graduate with an Interior Architecture or Interior Design Degree having completed a placement or with industry experience within the workplace design sector.
 
The Midweight Interior Designer will need at least 2 years commercial experience and the Technical Designer should have a bias towards all technical aspects of projects.
 
In addition you will need

  • Knowledge of SketchUp and 3D visualisation would be beneficial
  • Strong team-work approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • A current driving licence to visit site
