Project Manager - London - up to £45,000 (V03774)

This business has been designing and building commercial offices for over 10 years. Family run, their culture is really important to them as they are essentially a company of likeminded people who believe that everyone deserves a great place to work.

They are currently looking to expand their projects team with a project manager with at least 3 years' experience within the office design industry. You will need to integrate into an established company team, be supportive of the companys desire to grow and be pro-active, reliable and determined member of the team.

They have a dedicated Project Manager on every site so you will be assigned to a particular project and will be required to be based there until project completion. Depending on the size of project you may be allocated an Assistant Project Manager.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Good IT capability and able to design and manage a programme (ASTA Powerproject ideal)
  • Good communication skills are essential, both with in house team and client facing
  • An understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations and M&E systems
  • Ability to read construction drawings from various trades
  • SMSTS and First aid trained
  • Experience of managing office relocations, refurbishments and fit-outs including IT infrastructure
  • Good people management skills
  • Good understanding of health and safety and risk management policies and procedures
  • Strong contracts and tendering experience
  • Good commercial acumen - legal knowledge and negotiating with multiple vendors
  • Flexible approach to travelling and staying away from home on a regular basis

This company specialise in producing high-end bespoke furniture and joinery from concept through to design, manufacture and installation, covering a wide variety of projects both domestic and commercial as well as one-off commissions.

With a busy workload they are seeking:

1. A Project Manager who will be overseeing projects through the detailing stages and on to production and installation of the final product.
Other responsibilities will be:

  • Organising the detailed schedule of works
  • Ensuring all design drawings can be used as accurate shop rods for the workshop through detailed site surveys and sound methods of construction
  • Procurement of materials
  • Health and Safety - Preparing Rams and O&Ms
  • Liaising with site-fitters and workshop staff throughout the manufacturing process
  • Managing installations on site
  • Delivering presentations to prospective clients to showcase the companys expertise

2. Workshop Coordinator who will be based mainly in the workshop coordinating with the team there and the drawing office, organising programmes and all relevant administration.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Experience from the furniture or joinery industry
  • IT literate and numerate
  • Able to read CAD drawings
  • Good project management and interpersonal skills

This British Company manufactures beautiful bespoke furniture, cabinetry and specialist joinery work for a global network of clients. Their large purpose-built manufacturing complex is home to traditional cabinet making, veneering, carving and gilding skills, complemented by modern design, manufacturing and finishing techniques.

They work on both classical and contemporary interiors including dressing rooms, staircases and libraries, cinemas, wine rooms, games rooms and yachts and the role of Production Manager is pivotal to the smooth and efficient running of their workshops.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning production between multiple departments, across multiple locations
  • Making efficient and effective use of resources based on skillsets, availability and other factors
  • Ensuring effective flow between departments
  • Working with Project Managers and Department Heads to ensure they meet their clients' timescales and expectations
  • Assisting the Head of Operations with process improvements

Person / Experience Required:

The successful candidate will be a positive, enthusiastic and resourceful self-starter, who excels in planning, and understands the interdependencies between work, departments and critical path planning. Tenacity, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills are required to perform the role successfully.

You will need relevant experience and skills in planning and managing resources. Manufacturing knowledge is a strong preference as is experience within a bespoke environment.
