This small family run company specialise in Experiential Design, Production and Installation and are proud to count large brands and leading marketing agencies amongst their clients. They provide a range of services from exhibition stands, product launches and bespoke sampling stands to PR stunts, sampling bins and giant props and are theatrical in their approach. They even have a room / crèche dedicated to the staff's dogs so they can bring them to work!

Based at their offices close to the borders of Essex and Hertfordshire, the Project Manager will be working as part of small Project Management team and the position would suit a candidate who wants to contribute to a growing enterprise and be part of a fun, family-led, often fast-paced production company. You will gain fast, hands-on experience quickly moving to handling smaller and then larger projects working directly with new and existing clients.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Background from a theatre based course ideally
  • Experience in Project / Production Management, Stage Management, Event Management and/or Technical Theatre
  • Project Management skills including working with a production workshop
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Able to manage and realise projects from costings for budgets through to installation
  • Must be able to effectively liaise with and manage clients and their expectations
  • Ability to maintain a high level of quality control along with a cost effective, best practice and ecological approach

Assistant Project Manager - London - up to £35,000 (V03774)

This business has been designing and building commercial offices for over 10 years. Family run, their culture is really important to them as they are essentially a company of likeminded people who believe that everyone deserves a great place to work.

They are currently looking to add to their Project Team with an individual who is experienced within the area of Commercial Office Design and Build. You will be site-based working alongside the site Project Manager and sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Setting up site and keeping it clean and tidy at all times
  • Arranging team, site and client meetings
  • Managing an Information Required Schedule (IRS)
  • Managing all subcontractors and trades on site and overseeing the Health & Safety
  • Instructing sub-contractors and suppliers on site/project works
  • Issuing small orders and updating the program of works on a weekly basis
  • Reviewing and commenting on drawings
  • Booking of sub-contractors onto the project to meet the program
  • Snagging and raising issues with works teams

Person / Experience Required:

  • Up to 3 years' experience of site working
  • Good capability with Microsoft Office
  • Good communication skills are essential, both with the in-house team and client facing
  • An understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations
  • A general understanding of M&E systems and how they work
  • A general understanding of how to read construction drawings
  • Flexible approach to travelling and staying away from home on a regular basis
  • Full and ideally clean driving licence

This company specialise in producing high-end bespoke furniture and joinery from concept through to design, manufacture and installation, covering a wide variety of projects both domestic and commercial as well as one-off commissions.

With a busy workload they are seeking:

1. A Project Manager who will be overseeing projects through the detailing stages and on to production and installation of the final product.
Other responsibilities will be:

  • Organising the detailed schedule of works
  • Ensuring all design drawings can be used as accurate shop rods for the workshop through detailed site surveys and sound methods of construction
  • Procurement of materials
  • Health and Safety - Preparing Rams and O&Ms
  • Liaising with site-fitters and workshop staff throughout the manufacturing process
  • Managing installations on site
  • Delivering presentations to prospective clients to showcase the companys expertise

2. Workshop Coordinator who will be based mainly in the workshop coordinating with the team there and the drawing office, organising programmes and all relevant administration.

  • Experience from the furniture or joinery industry
  • IT literate and numerate
  • Able to read CAD drawings

Their large purpose-built manufacturing complex is home to traditional cabinet making, veneering, carving and gilding skills, complemented by modern design, manufacturing and finishing techniques.

They work on both classical and contemporary interiors including dressing rooms, staircases and libraries, cinemas, wine rooms, games rooms and yachts and the role of Production Manager is pivotal to the smooth and efficient running of their workshops.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning production between multiple departments, across multiple locations
  • Making efficient and effective use of resources based on skillsets, availability and other factors
  • Ensuring effective flow between departments
  • Working with Project Managers and Department Heads to ensure they meet their clients' timescales and expectations
  • Assisting the Head of Operations with process improvements

Person / Experience Required:

The successful candidate will be a positive, enthusiastic and resourceful self-starter, who excels in planning, and understands the interdependencies between work, departments and critical path planning. They are now seeking two individuals to take on Production Manager roles, one at mid weight level (level 3) and one higher (level 2). You will be managing the production of projects taking the lead on production and project management from brief through to delivery. Person / Experience Required:

Candidates would ideally come from a proven theatrical or exhibition background and have experience in the project management of a broad range of sets, props and modular units, from conception through to execution.
