Interior Designer & Project Manager - Essex - up to £45,000 (V04050)

As a multi-disciplinary design-led practice our client boasts an impressive portfolio including blue-chip national and international clients specialising in all areas of the hospitality sector delivering projects throughout the UK and into Europe. Projects include bars, restaurants, hotels, casinos and cafes and they are based within easy commuting distance to London.
 
They are currently seeking an Interior Designer & Project Manager. The role would be both a creative and logistical role to head up a contract and be client facing. Ultimately you would be the main client creative lead of a brand / concept development. This could mean seeing some projects from concept all the way to completion or on other occasions overseeing the delivery as part of the team with support of a PM.
 
They operate a development programme of review with a projection to an individual’s three-year target. Salary on offer is c£45k plus pension, bonus scheme and use of pool cars for client visits. Hours are 9am - 5.30pm, Mon- Fri. 
 
Skills and Experience needed for the Designer & Project Manager:
  • Good project running experience with an understanding of logistics for project delivery
  • Understanding of the RIBA work stages
  • Experience with managing client relationship and undertaking presentations
  • An understanding of Health & Safety management in Construction
  • Knowledge gained through working on hotel and/or hospitality projects
  • Clean Driving Licence
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar
  • Excel and Microsoft literate

They use wood to shape the character and function of rooms into distinctive and beautifully liveable spaces, every piece is completely bespoke, and their 12,000sq ft modern workshop houses a dedicated team of cabinetmakers and finishers.
 
They are currently seeking a Project Manager whose core responsibility is to profitably deliver projects from commissioning to completion, on time, to specification and always exceeding their clients’ high expectations. It will involve both UK and International travel.
 
The Project Manager should be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Leadership skills and self-motivation
  • Experience in presenting to and negotiating with clients
  • Experience in delivering high-end and complex building and joinery works
  • A detailed understanding of building and timber technology, M&E / HVAC systems
  • Numerate and with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident working with contractors, consultants, professional and technical staff
  • Enthusiasm and positivity, with the ability to solve complex and challenging problems
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and an understanding of AutoCAD

They are currently seeking a Furniture Production Controller who will be coordinating and controlling the flow of work and information between departments, from design through to manufacturing and workshop production conclusion. The ideal candidate will have an appreciation of the expectations of high-end, wealthy clients.
 
This also involves: Taking the design brief and communicating to the CAD external team; Determining Bill of Material (BoM) requirements and availability of materials; Facilitating production order launches; Being responsible for quality and timelines of CAD design and production drawings; Performing a variety of drafting activities including preparing / updating CAD drawings for client approval and manufacturing drawings / cutting lists / BoMs for production.
They are also open to bringing on board a recent graduate and train them up.
 
Skills and experience for the Furniture Production Controller:
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications and effectively communicate the requirements to a production team 
  • Understanding of cabinet making and a good knowledge of timber products, glass, metal, stone and fabrics
  • Proficient with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD draughting 
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Pro-active and self-motivated
  • Good organisational skills, process driven
  • Commercial awareness
  • Able to work with Excel

Day-to-day responsibilities for the Operations Manager will be:

  • Leads and Opportunities - Management and allocation of leads and opportunities and the sales pipeline in general
