This company's Italian inspired designs for bespoke bedroom and bathroom furniture and state-of-the art manufacturing facilities have earned them an enviable reputation with major UK housebuilders and the A&D community.

Based on the West Sussex and Surrey Borders they are on the hunt for two experienced Designers with a proven track record and that understand joinery and manufacturing. You will be both developing concepts for housebuilders and taking design drawings from architects / interior designers to develop them into detailed manufacturing drawings and issue them to the CNC machinist.

Person / Experience Required:

  • The successful candidates will be expected to undertake the design and development of bespoke furniture from concept stage through to manufacture, including material and component specifications, production of prototypes and drawings as necessary to suit the brief
  • With at least 5 years' industry experience within a similar environment
  • You will be competent in 3D software (SolidWorks) with good 3D visualisation and rendering skills an advantage
  • A high level of attention to detail will be expected and good technical draughting skills
  • You will possess the interpersonal skills to maintain customer-facing relationships and be able to advise them on design finishes

They work directly with their clients who come to them for their expertise and beautiful pieces of furniture, joinery and workmanship for their Country and London Town Houses across the UK and abroad. Everything they design is completely bespoke, and their modern 12,000 sq.ft. workshop houses a dedicated team of cabinet-makers and finishers.

They currently have a newly created opening for a recent graduate who has great digital design skills and can create imagery for client presentations from 2D CAD drawings. The remit will be to make 3D models look like a water colour or an oil painting or whatever image / visual is suited to the particular client.

The role has the potential to grow and develop into other aspects within their business.

Key Requirements:

  • Furniture, Interiors or Architecture degree
  • Strong digital design skills
  • Knowledge of Autodesk packages, in particular able to use SketchUp
  • Understanding of architectural interiors, joinery and fitted furniture
  • A creative, enquiring mind and an interest in historical research of architecture and period properties

Experienced in all aspects of joinery manufacture and installation, they work closely with main contractors, designers and architects on both classical and contemporary interiors including dressing rooms, staircases, libraries, cinemas, wine rooms and games rooms.

They are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Cabinet Maker who has a good eye for detail. You should have a passion for making high-end furniture and be skilled in using a variety of materials. This is an ideal position for a person who is creative and enjoys making custom cabinetry from conception to creation.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Experience and confident with the use of wood-working machinery
  • Able to work from CAD production drawings
  • Good communication skills
  • Veneering experience preferable
  • Should have a positive approach and be able to problem solve
  • Aware of Health and Safety practices in the workshop and knowledge of the appropriate PPE required
  • Able to complete final inspection of jobs and sign-off for delivery

Salary will be paid on an hourly rate plus time and a quarter for overtime, quarterly profit share and additional holiday awarded for long service.

They are recruiting for an experienced and talented metalsmith craftsperson to join their creative and friendly production workshop team. This is a position which would suit a person who is time-served working in fine art bronze foundries or artist / design studios, involved in manufacturing high quality functional interior products or sculpture, in metals such as bronze, brass and steel.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Metalworker

  • Fabrication of brass lighting or furniture from raw materials
  • Fabrication of steel or iron lighting or furniture
  • Ability to train others in metalwork processes
  • Assembly of cast bronze components to create functional sculptural products
  • TIG Welding, Silver Soldering, Soft Soldering and Metal Chasing
  • Jig and pattern making
  • Fabrication of brass components
  • Lathe Work and polishing

Person and Experience Required for the Metalworker:

  • Typically 10 years' experience particularly in bronze and brass
  • Experience within the arts or interior product manufacturing is important
  • Proven experience in making high-end sculptural products

Operating nationwide from their factory and offices just outside London, they offer total management of joinery packages, from initial site survey through to installation.

They are currently seeking an experienced Technical Designer to work with their progressive team of designers and makers.

Objectives / Requirements:

  • Creating concept designs, rendering in KeyShot and turning them into ready-to-manufacture technical drawings for the in-house joinery workshop
  • Producing complete and checked technical drawings using Solid Edge 3D design software (Fluency in SolidWorks will be considered)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Accuracy in take offs for CNC milling and other outsourced material production will also be required directly from the CAD drawings
  • Connecting with joiners to discuss and get feedback on the practicality of joinery items designed, so hands-on experience from the joinery sector is needed and hands-on knowledge of manufacturing and assembling would be desirable
  • A genuine interest in the marketplace and a willingness to take part in interdepartmental discussions
