3D Visualiser - Interiors - Somerset - negotiable (V04033)

Our client has an unrivalled reputation and knowledge of interior architecture for historical and period properties and work directly with their clients who come to them for their expertise and beautiful pieces of furniture and architectural joinery. They use wood to shape the character and function of rooms into distinctive and beautifully liveable spaces, every piece is completely bespoke, and their 12,000sq ft modern workshop houses a dedicated team of cabinetmakers and finishers.
 
They are seeking a creative 3D Visualiser, preferably (but not necessarily) with a knowledge of historical interior architecture, joinery or furniture able to create visuals and presentations of interiors showing a variety of materials. This is a junior to mid-level role rather than senior.
Skills and experience sought from the 3D Visualiser:
  • Strong 3D CAD modeller, with material application and rendering (preferably 3DS Max/ V-Ray but not essential)
  • An eye for composition, materials, lighting, storytelling, and multi-media presentations
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
  • 2+ years' professional experience and a portfolio of projects worked on at a high level

We have a new opportunity available with one of the industry leaders in providing show home interior design and installation to the UK’s corporate property development sector.
 
They are now looking to increase their specifying team with a Furniture Specifier who will be working on a variety of Show Home designs in line with each of the clients’ briefs. Alongside a designer, you will be planning the layouts and sourcing the latest in design led furniture.
 
Key responsibilities for the Furniture Specifier include:
  • Working to a design brief to specify, spatially arrange, plan and cost furniture
  • Keeping up to date with furniture suppliers, trends and creative solutions
  • Creating and maintaining budget / costing sheets using Excel
  • Maintaining job files with any changes from original presentation / design
 
Skills and experience needed for the Furniture Specifier role:
  • Experience of working with different furniture suppliers and styles
  • Proficient in Excel with knowledge of VectorWorks / AutoCAD preferred
  • Evidence of a creative, design led background and relevant qualifications
  • Planned and organised with good attention to detail
  • An eye for proportion / colour / balance design and good 3D awareness

CAD Design Draughtsperson - Hybrid - South Yorkshire - up to £32,000 (V04023)

Our client is a designer and manufacturer of office furniture with a wide variety of product ranges including desks, storage units, lockers, tables, upholstered privacy screens and acoustic breakout furniture. They have a showroom in London, but it is for their Head Office and Factory in South Yorkshire that they are seeking a CAD Design Draughtsperson to assist with the production and development of products.
 
You will be working within the design team using SolidWorks to develop products and generate 3D CAD files, technical drawings, assembly visuals and bills of materials for products and parts from across the breadth of their product ranges. You will see products through from drawing to manufacture, liaising with on-site manufacturing, production and administrative teams. 
 
Prototyping new products and product testing will also be part of the role as will the creation of product costings for product launches and special enquiries. They are open to a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.
 
Skills and Experience sought for the CAD Design Draughtsperson:
  • SolidWorks fluency, with a 2D CAD package such as AutoCAD or DraftSight an advantage
  • IT literate with knowledge of MS Excel
  • A technical and enquiring mind with good problem-solving abilities
  • At least 3 years' working professionally in a design or draughting based role
  • An understanding of design for manufacture using woodworking CNCs and machinery advantageous, as would designing fabricated sheet metal components
Salary and Benefits:

Their large purpose-built manufacturing complex is home to traditional cabinet making, veneering, carving and gilding skills, complemented by modern design, manufacturing and finishing techniques.
 
Projects include dressing rooms, staircases and libraries, cinemas, wine rooms and games rooms and they are currently looking for an experienced Furniture Technician to join this team. Depending on level of experience they are also open to remote working with occasional visits to the office.
 
The main responsibilities for the Furniture Technician will include to:
  • Develop the client brief into technical and production drawings and renders
  • Ensure the product is engineered and designed for manufacture and assembly
  • Ensure drawing accuracy and presentation meets the required standard
  • Ensure drawings are published on time and drawing approvals are pursued to program
  • Survey and template site work as required and undertake pre installation checks
  • Review works in progress and prior to delivery for quality and conformance to drawings
 
Skills and Experience sought for the Furniture Technician role:
  • Skilled in 3D CAD using SolidWorks
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a wood based environment - Joinery, shop fitting or cabinet making
  • CNC and or cabinet making experience would be beneficial
  • Good interpersonal skills to create effective working relationships
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail
 
Salary and Benefits:
In return the salary will be £30k to £40k plus profit share scheme, contribution to pension and long service additional holiday.

They are currently seeking a Furniture Production Controller who will be coordinating and controlling the flow of work and information between departments, from design through to manufacturing and workshop production conclusion. The ideal candidate will have an appreciation of the expectations of high-end, wealthy clients.
 
This also involves: Taking the design brief and communicating to the CAD external team; Determining Bill of Material (BoM) requirements and availability of materials; Facilitating production order launches; Being responsible for quality and timelines of CAD design and production drawings; Performing a variety of drafting activities including preparing / updating CAD drawings for client approval and manufacturing drawings / cutting lists / BoMs for production.
They are also open to bringing on board a recent graduate and train them up.

The role will require close communication with both the design and production team so you will be working mainly in the office although there is the possibility for some flexibility.
 
The successful applicant will be responsible for working on all the engineering aspects of standard and bespoke products for customer approval and manufacture. Cad Designer's duties:
  • Working closely with the Sales Designer to produce detailed drawings of bespoke furniture

  • Ensuring all technical details are translated
  • Specifying technical elements (hinges, slides, covers etc.)
 
Skills and Experience for the CAD Designer / Junior Sales Designer:
  • Sound knowledge of CAD software, Cabinet Vision would be an advantage but not a necessity
  • Detail orientated and a team player
  • Some experience gained already from the residential or fitted furniture marketplace
  • A knowledge of quality kitchen appliances, work surfaces and sanitaryware would be beneficial
Salary and benefits:
They will provide plenty of training and guidance. The salary will be up to £35k depending on experience. This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week with 29 days holiday (including Bank Holidays), plus 1 additional day for every 5 years' employment served.
