CAD Setting Out Draughtsperson - Kent - up to £60,000 (V03974)

Since the early 1990’s our client has evolved their own unique approach to creating handmade truly bespoke kitchens, bedrooms, studies, wine rooms and other bespoke furniture.
 
With a constantly increasing level of business, they are now looking to recruit a full time CAD Setting Out Draughtsman of Bespoke Joinery.
 
You will be producing Setting Out Drawings and Production Cutting Lists for the manufacturing of bespoke high-end joinery including Kitchens, Bedrooms, Studies and Wine Rooms.
 
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Joinery Fitter with experience working as a Bench Joiner and/or have experience producing Setting Out Drawings and creating Cutting Lists. 
 
You will be working as part of a Drawing Office team and with their Kitchen and Furniture Designers. Full training will be provided for the right candidate which may include a period of working alongside their current installers and bench joiners as required.
 
Candidates must be IT Literate and fluent in both written and oral English.

Furniture Production Manager - London - up to £45,000 (V03969)

Our client is an innovative gallery of original and unique contemporary furniture design and products who are currently seeking a Production Manager with strong technical knowledge of furniture construction and production methods. 
 
You will be planning production schedules, managing the production process on individual pieces, controlling the quality standards and interpreting sketches and drawings, liaising with clients and the workshops. They are open to considering an experienced candidate ready to step up to become a Production Manager after a short lead in time.
Skills and Experience needed for the Production Manager:
 
  • Ability to interpret sketches and drawings
  • Ability to multitask and project manage the production of luxury sculptural / artistic furniture and products
  • Strong planning and organisational skills 
  • Computer literate ideally with 2D and 3D CAD skills (they use Rhino and Adobe)
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills
  • Knowledge of handling a variety of materials such as bronze, wood, stainless steel, resin
  • A knowledge of other languages would be desirable (French, Italian, German)
In return you will be working on unique and artistic creations for high profile and well-known clients within the Design field. Our client designs and manufacturers contract furniture including meeting tables, credenzas, storage & lockers, chairs, booths & banquette seating. They have a showroom in Central London and a manufacturing facility in Lincolnshire and are currently recruiting for a Furniture Designer.
 
You will ideally be based in London, but they will consider Lincolnshire as the base if a more convenient location.
 
You will be producing furniture for the office, educational and institutional markets using AutoCAD for 2D drawings and creating production drawings using Inventor. You will be responsible for producing BoMs, renders and creating 3D models for their product portfolio. There will also however be occasions to produce space plans for clients and visuals using SketchUp and/or 3D Studio Max.
 
Skills and experience needed for the Furniture Designer:
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Inventor or similar software like SolidWorks
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Good communication skills
  • An interest in the technical aspects of products and their design
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines (once up to speed in the job)

Main areas of responsibility for the Furniture Designer include:

  • Generating clear and accurate approval and production drawings

Skills and experience sought from the Furniture Designer:
  • 5+ years’ experience in producing detailed drawings of bespoke furniture for manufacture
  • SolidWorks proficient or similar
  • A strong understanding of furniture production methods and materials 
  • Able to generate accurate, detailed production drawings 
  • Able to work to timescales and deadlines

Deputy Workshop Manager - Props & Furniture - London - up to £35,000 (V03946)

Their showroom in Uxbridge, s within easy access of all the major London film studios and they have created a new role of Deputy Workshop Manager.
 
Your role will be to assist the Workshop Manager in leading and managing their friendly in-house workshop team, along with maintaining and repairing the vast stock of antique furniture and accessories. Additionally, due to industry demand, they anticipate expanding this department to incorporate model making so any previous model making experience would be beneficial.
 
The successful applicant will need knowledge of a broad range of construction techniques and materials, as well as excellent woodworking skills and an interest in furniture restoration. You will also be working in conjunction with the Loss & Damage Coordinator to calculate repair costings which will be passed on to their clients.
 
Skills and experience needed for the Deputy Workshop Manager:
 
  • At least two years’ furniture / set / props workshop experience
  • Experience in managing budgets, purchasing and negotiating with suppliers
  • Strong communication skills
  • Initiative to work alone with minimum supervision
  • Positive and flexible approach to problem-solving with attention to detail
  • Computer literate
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Knowledge of upholstery and traditional French polishing would be an advantage
 
In return the Deputy Workshop Manager role has a salary of between £30k to £35k and plenty of training and career progression as the company is expanding both in size and the services it offers.

Skills and experience needed for the Sales Consultant:
