To successfully apply for a position as a furniture designer, you will be expected to demonstrate your creative skills, your technical ability, and your commercial awareness of this sector.

You should be able to sketch out ideas for initial brainstorming sessions, as well as produce more technical design work, often utilising CAD software.

Some positions require only your design skills, where others might involve your skills as a craftsperson, producing the items, as well as designing them.
