The Role of Furniture Designer:

  • Plan and design fitted furniture that fits to a client’s spec and the company's range of products
  • Visit sites to measure and evaluate the customers’ needs prior to creating detailed drawings which are ready for manufacture
  • Correctly process site surveys, designs, samples, delivery dates and stock requirements
  • Communicate with clients and the team throughout the design phases and manufacturing processes

Requirements and skills for the Furniture Designer:

  • At least 4 years' experience of using AutoCAD
  • Experience in designing kitchens, wardrobes, vanity units, cabinets, desks and other furniture items
  • Experience working on contract kitchens would be an advantage
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the workplace and with clients
  • Strong creativity skills
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Driving licence

Summary for the Furniture Designer:

They are looking for a Designer with the ability and experience to carry out site surveys on construction sites and create designs and working drawings for their client’s furniture in AutoCAD.

In return they are offering a salary of between £25k and £30k, plus contribution to pension scheme, 24 days holiday, rising to 26 days after five years and team incentives and outings.

Furniture Project Coordinator - London - up to £25,000 (V03777)

This company manufacture and supply high quality contract furniture for hotels, private rented sector apartments, serviced apartments and student accommodation.

They work with major brands in both the UK and Dubai markets and seek a Project Co-ordinator to work on a variety of projects coordinating and managing the production of furniture for various contract projects as part of a team. The role will be fairly admin based and all relevant training will be provided as part of the role.

They are offering a one year contract with the possibility for extension based on performance.

The role of the Project Co-ordinator will include:

  • Putting together quotations, managing procurement, FF&E specification, planning, product drawings and presentation boards
  • Coordinating and managing the project through to installation and after-sales

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in a design related subject and experience in a similar role
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Knowledge and the ability to draw up floorplans using AutoCAD
  • Great initiative and resourcefulness
  • Good PC skills and working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to conduct oneself professionally with clients and in project team meetings

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a design graduate with a passion for design and marketing. They will be based at the Morgan headquarters in Southbourne, near Chichester. They will have good organisational skills, ability to work to deadlines and understand the requirements and importance of promoting a brand and following brand guidelines. Photoshop and Illustrator skills are required.

Project Manager - London - up to £45,000 (V03774)

They are currently looking to expand their projects team with a project manager with at least 3 years' experience within the office design industry. You will need to integrate into an established company team, be supportive of the companys desire to grow and be pro-active, reliable and determined member of the team.

They have a dedicated Project Manager on every site so you will be assigned to a particular project and will be required to be based there until project completion. Depending on the size of project you may be allocated an Assistant Project Manager.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Good IT capability and able to design and manage a programme (ASTA Powerproject ideal)
  • Good communication skills are essential, both with in house team and client facing
  • An understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations and M&E systems
  • Ability to read construction drawings from various trades
  • SMSTS and First aid trained
