Our client is an enthusiastic, culture-driven Design & Build interior refurbishment company creating inspiring interior schemes for both educational and commercial clients.
 
Continuously growing they have ambitious plans for further development. To help these plans, they are looking for an Interior Designer to create amazing yet functional design schemes for clients in collaboration with Project Directors & Project Managers.
 
Daily duties:
  • Creative space planning and design schemes
  • Concept and mood imagery
  • Presentations and pitch documents
  • Visualisation - but not an essential requirement!
Skills and Experience sought from the Interior Designer:
  • 5+ years’ experience in workplace design
  • Proactive, organised and hard working as well as being happy to work in a small business environment
  • Proficient with CAD (they use AutoCAD) and SketchUp 3D
  • Ability to absorb pressure in busy times

Designer and Project Coordinator - London - up to £40,000 (V04105)

Our client is an international furniture company that work with private clients, architects, developers and interior designers providing an extensive choice of furniture including wardrobes, library systems, kitchen and furniture for the whole home.
 
Constantly busy, they are currently looking for a Designer and Project Coordinator to join their expanding team within the new bespoke division. The role combines design and technical skills with the ability to organise workload efficiently to facilitate the smooth running of the projects. You will be preparing drawings, presentations and quotations as well as managing live projects from design to completion, working both in the office and on site.
 
Duties and responsibilities for the Designer and Project Coordinator will include:
  • Preparation of design proposals, preparation of technical prints, visuals and presentations
  • Preparation of drawings and assisting with costings and quotations
  • Liaising with architects, suppliers and contractors
  • Handling CGI consultants to produce interior design concepts and visuals where needed
  • Assisting with producing technical information and the presentation material to win the contracts and subsequently to manage the project to the highest standards to completion
  • Assisting in the design phase, orders to the factory, checking confirmations, site visits and preparatory documentation for installations
 
Skills and Experience needed for the Designer and Project Coordinator role:
  • 5+ years’ experience working on high-end projects in a design related project management role
  • Knowledge of kitchens and wardrobes
  • Strong project and time-management skills
  • A good eye for Design, interest in Design trends and the design community
  • Good presentation skills and ability to understand a brief and to explain and present ideas
  • Accuracy and attention to detail when finalising prints and designs
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (space planning and joinery detailing)
  • Experience in preparing quotations
  • Proficiency with the Adobe CS for presentations
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials, and methods of surveying and inspection
  • Experienced in set up of FFE schedules

Increasingly busy with lots of exciting new projects starting they are looking for a additional Interior Designers to join their team.  Both will be at a mid-weight level; one is for a Technical Designer and requires strong detailing skills and VectorWorks fluency, the other is for an all-round Designer able to handle suppliers and clients.
 
The Technical Designer will be responsible for creating joinery packages, lighting and general arrangement plans and detailed layouts. You will also be carrying out site surveys and coordinating parts of the project design process. For the Interior Designer role you will be working as part of the team on projects from concept to completion. Both role have the potential to grow and expand into other areas of responsibility.
