Contract Kitchen Designer - South Yorkshire - up to £28,000 (V03948)

This brand leader in the manufacture of high-quality beautifully designed fitted kitchens and furniture supply British-made kitchens through specialist retailers across the UK and direct to Housing Developers. Their purpose-built manufacturing complex uses the latest technology and computer-controlled facilities to create an exciting range of modern and classic kitchens that feature the very latest innovations and design features.
 
They currently have an opening for a Contract Kitchen Designer to work with their Housing Developer clients. You will be responsible for producing designs and estimates for developers from a client's own brief and architects' drawings.
Main duties of the Contract Kitchen Designer:
  • Liaising with Developers and the Sales Team
  • Producing accurate designs and estimates for kitchen layouts 
  • Preparing completed designs / estimates into a tender presentation
  • Scaling from Architects' drawings supplied by the Developer
  • Establishing an installation budget and plan within contract guidelines 
  • Undertaking showroom tours as and when required
Skills and experience for the Contract Kitchen Designer:
  • Familiar with scaling from plans and designing kitchens
  • Fully proficient using a CAD system (they use ArtiCAD)
  • Possessing creativity and design flair to create a functional, attractive kitchen from scratch
  • Understanding of kitchen component parts would be advantageous
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.) or similar
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Photoshop desirable but not essential
This role will be based in their Head-Office and they are looking for a Contract Kitchen Designer with a “can do” attitude and a friendly, sociable personality. In return you will be working Monday to Friday with no weekends as this is not a retail role and on top of your salary they have an employee benefits system and company pension contributions.

With a busy workload they are currently seeking to recruit an FF&E Designer to handle all FF&E elements of projects and purchasing. This will include: collating artwork and accessories; ordering samples and handling suppliers; creating trade accounts; listing, specifying and inputting into schedules. They use EstiMac so you will need to be both IT and commercially minded.
 
Key skills and experience for the FF&E Designer:
  • 3 to 4 years’ relevant industry experience
  • An understanding of managing project budgets and timelines, including the FF&E procurement process
  • Good organization and administration skills
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and resolving problems

This vibrant design and build company create and fit out bespoke high impact office interiors and seek additional Interior Designers to strengthen the team and work on some new projects they have recently won.
 
They are seeking both a Senior Interior Designer and a Mid-weight Interior Designer. With offices based in West Sussex (near the coast) and in London both positions will include working from home and from both offices in the work-life balance pattern.
 
The roles will have a wide variety of responsibilities with the senior taking projects from initial enquiry and concept pitch through to realisation of the design and drawing packages and on to installation and completion. The mid-weight will be working as part of the team at all these stages of the project cycle.
 
Key skills and experience sought for both Interior Designer roles:
  • To be a confident presenter and pitcher (senior)
  • Have the technical knowledge of how to realise a conceptual design
  • The ability to lead a project design team (senior)
  • Commercial workplace design experience (2+ years for the mid-weight and 6+ years for the senior) 
  • Good hand drawings and sketching skills
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and the ability to carry out site-surveys
  • Ability to bring innovative ideas to the table, challenge the brief and push the boundaries
  • Hands-on individuals with a strong team-work approach
  • Flexible to travel to both offices and have a current driving licence
These are permanent roles within an excellent studio environment and with an immediate start available. Salaries on offer are £25k to £30k for the Mid-Weight Interior Designer and £40k to £55k for the Senior Interior Designer.

The Senior Designer is currently looking for a kitchen designer to support them in a non-sales role. It would be showroom based Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm. No Saturdays required at present, as they work by appointment only.

Based in a lovely location near Peterborough you will be assisting with designing to the brief, producing 3D visuals, pricing and preparing the quotation for checking, setting out mood boards for client meets, handling suppliers and sample ordering. In return additional training will be given and the chance to progress.

Skills required for the Kitchen Design Support role:

  • Good listening skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to which project needs working on, organised so deadlines still get met
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience designing kitchens using Fusion 2020 CAD
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with pricing kitchens, ideally using EQ
  • SketchUP would be an advantage

Skills and Experience needed for the Interior Designer:

  • They are ideally looking for 3+ years’ experience of residential interior design
  • FF&E experience across a broad spectrum of price points is important along with strong spatial awareness skills and attention to detail
  • It will be an advantage if you have knowledge of fabric and wallpaper companies and can measure up for window treatments
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • Knowledge of residential furniture and lighting brands would be a distinct advantage but is not essential
  • You will need your own car for travelling to clients and carrying samples (business expenses will be paid)

Salary will be dependent on experience with an end of year discretionary performance related bonus, a staff discount scheme and Company pension scheme.
