Person / Experience Required:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • A forward thinking, positive attitude
  • Office space planning experience within the office fit-out sector
  • Happy to work independently once given direction on a project
  • Able to collaborate with the design team and communicate with the construction team
  • Planning and building control experience
  • Knowledge of a 3D design package would be an advantage as would the Adobe Creative Cloud

This company design, supply and install inspiring, engaging interiors for private schools. They are passionate about what they create which includes furniture, storage systems and fit-outs for both educational and commercial clients. Their own brand is recognised as one of the leading educational storage systems in the UK and the company has ambitious plans for further development.

This position is an exciting opportunity to become a key part of a close-knit team with the following responsibilities:

  • Leading the design and presentation part of the sales team, reporting to the Sales Manager
  • Taking design briefs, visiting clients, space planning, compiling mood and finishes boards and planning the project in 3D
  • Checking the quality of the designs are Functional (do they work?), Visually appealing (WOW factor) and Incorporate the latest innovations
  • Mentoring and managing a junior designer
  • Infusing the team with the creativity and passion that wins projects


Person / Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years' workplace design experience
  • Experience in using 3D CAD (ideally SketchUp)
  • Pitching and presenting projects
  • Proactive, organised and hard working as well as being happy to work in a small business environment
  • Own car for the sole purpose of travelling to the office

In the world of space planner recruitment, certain things never go out of style. For one, virtually every business project – no matter the size – will require the attention of a qualified space planner. Whether working as a dedicated individual for a larger project, or blending your skills into the more general role of interior designer for a smaller contract, space planning jobs are as essential now as they've ever been.

Careers in space planning follow a number of paths.
