This ever-growing Design team is currently searching for a Junior Designer / Space Planner to start as soon as possible. Working on multiple projects at any one time, this role is to provide support from initial brief to handover of a project and all stages in between. An enthusiastic applicant is required with bags of potential, as a large portion of your work will be supporting the team with upcoming work on their latest and largest business wins to date.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing the brief into a design scheme
  • Keeping abreast of new products including features and benefits for future specification
  • Keeping up-to-date with new ways of working and understanding how this affects the end user
  • Providing space plans to aid specification, procurement and the installation processes
  • Aiding / Creating presentations to support specification, sales and the tender process
  • Providing building / as built / furniture and storage surveys
  • Keeping abreast of IT innovations and updating / managing in-house IT issues

Person / Experience Required:

  • Must have proven experience of working on multiple projects
  • At least 1 year of experience ideally on commercial office interiors
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Revit, PowerPoint, InDesign and Photoshop would be a bonus
  • A strong passion about design and delivery
  • A proactive and ambitious attitude
  • Good communication skills

Due to customer demand they are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed and talented designer / 3D Visualiser to join their team of playground designers creating innovative, imaginative and bespoke play spaces and sport & fitness areas.

You will be responsible for taking projects through the full design cycle, from designing and costing the playground, producing detailed AutoCAD layouts and on to producing 2D/3D visualisations, image boards and presentations, ready for the area sales managers, the customers and public consultations. You will work as an individual, but at the same time collaborating with a team of eight designers and twenty area sales managers to produce work to the highest possible standard.

Person / Experience Required:

  • A creative eye with the ability to freehand draw
  • A design related degree, e.g. Landscape Design, Product Design or Interior Design
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and 3DS Max (or similar) plus experience in Adobe Creative Suite and Vray
  • A recent graduate with up to 2 years' experience in play or another related design industry
  • Sociable, helpful, with a can do attitude and a positive outlook

Salary plus 20 days holiday (with a day increase each year up to a max of 25 days), 3 day xmas shut down, BUPA, pension and an annual profit sharing bonus scheme.

In the world of space planner recruitment, certain things never go out of style. For one, virtually every business project – no matter the size – will require the attention of a qualified space planner.
