Kitchen Designer, Technical Designer & Sales Consultant roles - London - negotiable (V03820)

This company has a passion for fine furniture and create handcrafted fitted furniture that address all scales of rooms and developments.

With new investment they are opening a brand new and exciting showroom later this year in a multi-purpose building alongside other luxury brands, a hospitality suite and events space.

For this venue they have a few openings left for a Kitchen Designer (client facing, sales and design role), a Technical Designer (non-sales role working alongside the designers) and a Sales Consultant (front of house, lead generating and welcoming clients).

Person / Experience Required (depending on the role):

  • Kitchen Designer - professional, well-presented, motivated and creative designer with excellent communication and customer service skills gained within the kitchen industry in a showroom environment.
  • Technical Designer - strong CAD (AutoCAD or AutoKitchen) skills who is able to produce layouts and detailed technical drawings with experience from a kitchen or residential design company.
  • Sales Consultant - professional, well-presented with strong customer service and sales skills gained from working with luxury brands.

Salaries:

  • Kitchen Designer - c£35k plus commission, OTE c£100k
  • Technical Designer - c£30k plus bonus, OTE c£40k
  • Sales Consultant - £25k to £30k plus commission

This family-run business has been working within the kitchen marketplace for many years and last year refurbished all of their showrooms based around the Midlands to a very high standard.

Due to natural growth they are seeking an additional Kitchen Designer to work from their showroom just South of Birmingham when they are able to reopen for business. The role will allow flexibility with some home working although you must be able to drive to visit customers' homes to discuss designs and take a site surevy.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Strong and proven track record within kitchen design and sales
  • Able to work to deadlines and targets
  • A natural flair for design, presentation and customer service
  • Good IT skills and CAD literate 
  • A confident, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a positive work ethic
  • Full driving licence essential

As one of the world's leading artisans in professional home kitchens, this company takes pride in creating handcrafted pieces in their sleek industrial style, each kitchen showing off a bespoke design, sophisticated mechanisms and the experience of premium restaurant cooking.

Having just moved to a new centrally located showroom they are seeking an additional designer to help grow the team.

This role would suit a designer who has already had exposure to this marketplace and understands how important attention to detail is. It will be a client facing role so your presence, communication and interpersonal skills will be important. Regular travel to clients, trade shows and to visit Head Office in Italy will be expected so being able to speak Italian is important.

There will be excellent chances of progression as they are still growing their coverage of the UK marketplace.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience
  • Qualifications in Interior Design or similar
  • Literate with the Adobe CS and / or CAD

As the interior design sector as a whole appears to blossom, there are two areas of particular interest for design applicants. Both kitchen sales designer jobs and bathroom designer jobs have increased considerably of late, with many companies, both large and small, looking to recruit talented and original design staff to fulfil these roles.

Some of these companies are small, independent studios who cater for high-end clients looking for an all-in-one, unique kitchen design solution. At the other end of the market, we have the large national and international kitchen and bathroom retailers and outfitters who are on the lookout for people who can create stylish, attractive, and timeless pieces suitable for the mass consumer market. Somewhere between the two, we find bespoke craftsmen – cabinetmakers, bathmakers, and the like – who create one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture for use in the bathroom or kitchen, that are as much a work of art as a functional item of room decoration.
