Technical Kitchen Designer - London - up to £28,000 (V03949)

This independent kitchen company understands that the kitchen is the heart of every home, where the family gathers. With over 15 years of experience in the industry they bring in-depth knowledge of kitchen design and materials and work with budgets from £30,000.
 
As part of their growth plan, they are in the process of refurbishing their East London showroom and are also looking to recruit a new member of the team. As a Technical Kitchen Designer, you will be working alongside the Sales Designers creating technical drawings and kitchen layouts, obtaining pricing information, specifying and collating quotes, co-ordinating installations. It is not a front-end sales role but pivotal in helping the business expand and meet customer demand. You will be the hub of the company based in the showroom.
 
This would suit a technically minded individual who is happy to get involved and participate in projects. You will also need to be comfortable with working on your own at times when the designers are out of the showroom.
 
There is also the potential to create social media posts and blogs if of interest.
 
Skills and Experience for the Technical Kitchen Designer:
  • Experience of kitchen design and plans
  • Able to carry out surveys, draw up designs and liaise with both the suppliers and the workshop
  • Good attention to detail
  • SketchUp and CAD literate, they use ArtiCAD
  • A team player with good communication skills

Their purpose-built manufacturing complex uses the latest technology and computer-controlled facilities to create an exciting range of modern and classic kitchens that feature the very latest innovations and design features.
 
They currently have an opening for a Contract Kitchen Designer to work with their Housing Developer clients. You will be responsible for producing designs and estimates for developers from a client's own brief and architects' drawings.
Main duties of the Contract Kitchen Designer:
  • Liaising with Developers and the Sales Team
  • Producing accurate designs and estimates for kitchen layouts 
  • Preparing completed designs / estimates into a tender presentation
  • Scaling from Architects' drawings supplied by the Developer
  • Establishing an installation budget and plan within contract guidelines 
  • Undertaking showroom tours as and when required
Skills and experience for the Contract Kitchen Designer:
  • Familiar with scaling from plans and designing kitchens
  • Fully proficient using a CAD system (they use ArtiCAD)
  • Possessing creativity and design flair to create a functional, attractive kitchen from scratch
  • Understanding of kitchen component parts would be advantageous
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.) or similar
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Photoshop desirable but not essential
This role will be based in their Head-Office and they are looking for a Contract Kitchen Designer with a “can do” attitude and a friendly, sociable personality. In return you will be working Monday to Friday with no weekends as this is not a retail role and on top of your salary they have an employee benefits system and company pension contributions.

They have a newly created role that they are looking to fill and it would particularly suit a commercially minded individual who understands the kitchen sector. Your remit will be to oversee all commercial aspects and the logistics of the orders. It will start with taking the brief and carrying out a site survey, drawing up the plan and handing over the design to Head Office. You will then be directing and managing the sale and project to installation.
 
Although the role will be based in the Showroom you will be required from time to time to carry out site visits as well as nurturing business relationships and future business, also talking to B2B partners and being the “face” of the company for the UK.
 
Skills and experienced needed for the Commercial Manager & Sales Manager role:
  • Solid experience gained from the luxury kitchen marketplace
  • Strong organisational and project management skills

They are currently seeking a Sales Designer for their showroom in Cheshire. In this role you will need to demonstrate a flair for creative solutions with both design and practicality in mind. You will need to have a fine eye and attention to detail and be extremely thorough in the design and delivery of your projects. 
 
They use a wide variety of materials and design styles to meet the clients brief and work in both modern and period houses. It will therefore be important that you have a good understanding of historical furniture, period detailing, joinery design and construction so your schemes work in harmony with the architecture of the building.
The working week will be Monday to Friday and Saturday by appointment.
 
Skills and Experience needed for the Sales Designer: 
  • A knowledge of timber, wood veneers and finishes, cabinet making and joinery construction methods 
  • Minimum 5 years' kitchen design experience 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Proficient Microsoft Office user 
  • Proven sales history 
  • A knowledge of quality kitchen appliances, work surfaces and sanitary ware would be beneficial

Our client designs and makes bespoke kitchens and every single piece of cabinetry is built to last - they are strong believers in sustainability and want their kitchens to be their clients' ‘forever’ kitchens.

Due to the growth of business and looking ahead, they have created a new role which is a Senior Management position and the linchpin between all parts of the business.

Day-to-day responsibilities for the General Manager / Operations Manager will be:

  • Leads and Opportunities - Management and allocation of leads and opportunities and the sales pipeline in general
  • Project Management - Managing client projects from sale through to final project completion. Making sure the projects are delivered smoothly and to the client’s satisfaction
  • Inventory and Stock Management - Ordering of materials and appliances as well as supplier management
  • Quoting and invoicing (not bookkeeping)
  • Client liaison - Pre and post-sales client communication
  • Business process adherence and improvement - As the company grows, the business processes will need to be scaled accordingly
  • Marketing - Marketing strategy and implementation a bonus

Person and Experience needed for the General Manager / Operation Manager role:

  • People management experience
  • Driven with high standards for quality and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service ethos and manner and ability to handle high-end clients with high expectations
  • Positive attitude, calm demeanour and not easily flustered
  • Previous experience managing business processes and teams in order to deliver a product or service to customers
  • Experience of the KBB, furniture and/or joinery market a bonus
