This luxury kitchen and furniture company is committed to offering their clients a comprehensive bespoke concept-to-completion service. They are a family-run business going through a period of development so it is an exciting time to join the company.

They are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Designer with plenty of energy and ideas who can bring their own contemporary flair to the designs. Working alongside the Senior Designer, the role will involve liaising with clients and skilled craftsman to coordinate the full design, manufacture and installation of projects. The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong desire to succeed, who is looking to grow and develop within the company and who is able to adapt to the requirements of the role whilst ensuring that all designs are completed to a first-class standard.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Experience in generating detailed and accurate presentation and production drawings
  • CAD literate and experienced with Adobe packages
  • A strong understanding of furniture production methods and materials
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Willingness to learn and research a vast range of appliances and products to compliment designs
  • A degree in Furniture Design / Architecture or similar is advantageous, but not essential
  • As the role will involve travel, a driving licence and access to transport is preferred

As one of the world's leading artisans in professional home kitchens, this company takes pride in creating handcrafted pieces in their sleek industrial style, each kitchen showing off a bespoke design, sophisticated mechanisms and the experience of premium restaurant cooking.

Their London showroom is currently seeking an additional kitchen designer and they plan to open another showroom later this year. There will be excellent chances of progression as they are still growing their coverage of the UK marketplace.

This role would suit a young designer who is still early on in their career but who has already had some exposure to this marketplace. It will be a client facing role so your presence, communication and interpersonal skills will be important. Training will be provided and regular travel to clients, trade shows and to visit Head Office in Italy expected.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience to include kitchens
  • Qualifications in interior design or similar
  • Literate with the Adobe CS
  • Professional and smart in appearance
  • Both creative and technically minded
  • Proactive and self-motivated

This family-run business has been working within the kitchen marketplace for many years and last year refurbished all of their three showrooms to a very high standard.

Due to natural growth and a further new showroom due to be opened in April they are seeking an additional Kitchen Designer. The role will allow flexibility with some home working and although all the leads will be provided, you must be able and be prepared to drive to visit customers' homes. The role will be based in their showroom just South of Birmingham.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Strong and proven track record within sales
  • Kitchen Design experience
  • Able to work to strict deadlines and targets
  • A natural flair for design and presentation and customer service
  • Good IT skills and CAD literate (they use Compusoft Winner and EQ)

One of the leading suppliers of kitchen components and worksurfaces to the UK kitchen industry is currently seeking an enthusiastic kitchen designer to join its dynamic in-house design team and help deliver stunning design solutions for its large trade customer portfolio.

Creativity, innovation and the ability to understand and interpret briefs in an interior and spatial design context are essential, all underpinned by an eye for detail and a sleeves rolled up work ethic. Projects will be varied, from single set kitchen studio designs, or full showroom modelling, to photographic set visualising; as well as the development of the company's own market-leading design centres.

Job requirements:

  • Experience in kitchen, interior or retail design essential
  • Excellent space planning and interior design skills
  • Able to use SketchUp and AutoCAD
  • Experience in co-ordinating projects from initial site survey to installation

This independent design studio creates beautiful bespoke cabinetry for Kitchens, Utilities, Boot Rooms and Bedrooms which are the epitome of custom-made design.

With an ever-increasing workload, they are currently looking for a Technical Designer who is also happy to be client and contractor facing. The position will involve preparing technical and design drawings, carrying out site surveys and visiting sites at various stages of completion. You will also be working out of their showroom so there will be an element of sales involvement when speaking with clients. It is not however an actual sales role.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Fluent in the use of CAD systems
  • Knowledge of cabinetry and furniture, ideally at least one year on bespoke projects
  • Some travel will be expected so a driving licence and own transport is essential
  • Good communication skills and an approachable manner
  • Past customer service experience would be a bonus

As the interior design sector as a whole appears to blossom, there are two areas of particular interest for design applicants. Both kitchen sales designer jobs and bathroom designer jobs have increased considerably of late, with many companies, both large and small, looking to recruit talented and original design staff to fulfil these roles.

Some of these companies are small, independent studios who cater for high-end clients looking for an all-in-one, unique kitchen design solution. At the other end of the market, we have the large national and international kitchen and bathroom retailers and outfitters who are on the lookout for people who can create stylish, attractive, and timeless pieces suitable for the mass consumer market. Somewhere between the two, we find bespoke craftsmen – cabinetmakers, bathmakers, and the like – who create one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture for use in the bathroom or kitchen, that are as much a work of art as a functional item of room decoration.

You will be expected to liaise with customers in a client facing role, be it sales or design, and to produce an effective design based on their specifications.

You will be expected to be familiar with popular CAD software, capable of producing both 2D and 3D examples of your design. You may well be working as part of a team with space planners, lighting designers, and the like, so teamwork and good communication skills are a must.
