Senior Product Design Engineer - London - up to £50,000 (V04091)

Our client are leaders in the field of specialist art lighting. They specialise in the design and manufacture of LED products that transform works of art within private residences, stately homes, galleries and museums, with commissions for high-end commercial spaces.
 
They currently have an opening for a Product Design Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development and production of architectural LED lighting products. This will include inputting products into the MRP system, creating manufacturing drawings, updating BOMs, product prototyping and product testing. This would particularly suit a technically minded individual with knowledge from the architectural lighting product design marketplace.
 
Skills and Experience needed for the Product Design Engineer:
  • 5+ years' relevant experience to include lighting
  • Knowledge of product engineering / manufacturing processes / techniques
  • Ideally knowledge of MRP/ERP software systems and production of BOM’s
  • Solid organisational skills
  • Problem-solving capability
  • Fluent with SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Adobe CS

Our client integrates thoughtful and transformative lighting design into interiors, architecture, landscapes and related systems. Most of their projects are high-end and large within the hospitality and retail sector.
 
They have recently moved to a new and exciting office near Hammersmith Tube station. They are serviced offices with their own office within, plus the addition of meeting rooms, communal areas and bike sheds. Team events are held regularly and they also offer discounts at the Virgin Active gym, Bryon Burgers nearby and the coffee shop downstairs.
 
They currently have an opportunity for a mid-weight level Lighting Designer to help develop schemes from initial concept and take them through to site and installation.
 
Skills and Experience needed for the Lighting Designer:
 
  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience gained within the lighting design industry
  • Good client facing and project management skills
  • Both creative and technical, good at creating solutions
  • AutoCAD literate with Dialux and Relux an advantage
  • Able to meet deadlines and work on more than one project at any one time
  • IT literate
Salary and Benefits:
In return they are offering a salary of between £30k and £40k plus pension, company bonus, gym and food discount schemes.

This company specialise in the design and manufacture of lighting products for both the residential and the commercial sectors.
 
Busy with new projects coming in they are currently seeking an experienced individual to take on the role of Design Manager. Managing a small team your remit will include both man-management and project management, liaising with clients, overseeing projects and design work, checking projects are running to deadline and budget.
They are seeking an individual with a product design background and who is looking for more of an overseeing and management role, than hands-on designing.
 
Skills and Experience needed for the Product Design Manager:
  • 6+ years' relevant experience
  • Self-motivated and organised
  • Ability and knowledge of leading a small team
  • Solid project management skills
  • Problem-solving abilities would be useful
  • Experience as a product designer is needed and from the lighting industry preferable
