Senior Product Designer - Dorset - up to £40,000 (V03586)

This fast growing provider of domestic lighting to National Retailers and its own brand label is looking for a dynamic individual with an eye for detail, creative thinking and brand understanding to join them as a Senior Product Designer.

They are looking for an energetic individual with infectious creativity who displays real passion and pride in all aspects of their work. You will require a resourceful can do attitude and a hands-on approach, balanced with advanced 2D and 3D skills and manufacturing awareness to help effectively communicate your thinking and designs.

Working within their product team, you will be tasked with developing lighting products from initial concept, through to final prototypes for internal brands and leading national accounts. This role holds responsibilities and real career progression.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Degree in Product Design or Industrial Design
  • A minimum 5 years' hands-on experiences from sketching / ideation to final production
  • Knowledge of current design software and techniques in both 2D and 3D. They use Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Creo, SiemensNx, Rhino and 3DSMax
  • Experience with rendering packages such as KeyShot
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate these into a usable format for manufacture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge and experience in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite

From their riverside workshop in Berkshire, this company create elegant lighting to grace gorgeous hotels, restaurants and private residences worldwide. Their designs combine lightness and strength, exquisitely realised in hand-cut crystals, delicate metal chains, fine silks and hand-wrought metalwork.

They are now looking for an organised, diligent and articulate Sales Account Coordinator who can build relationships with key people in each client organisation and establish how to unlock the relationship / parameters that will drive future order growth. You will be responsible for answering client telephone and email enquiries, taking orders, quote requests and payments where needed and offering follow-ups as appropriate. In addition to this, you will raise quotations, revise quotations, raise invoices and enter orders. Finally, you will represent the Company at trade shows (e.g. Decorex) and host showroom drop-in appointments.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with key people in each client organisation
  • Manage commercial arrangements for each trade account
  • Update the company's CRM system
  • Become an expert on their products and answer clients' telephone and e-mail enquiries
  • Project-manage delivery of orders and follow up after orders are delivered to ensure client satisfaction
  • Build target lists of existing customers and greenfield customers, growing the company's mailing list

Candidates will:

  • Bring a high level of energy and operating tempo to the role
  • Have experience of delivering excellent account management and sales administration
  • Be organised, consistent and have excellent attention to detail
  • Be confident, pro-active and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Have an excellent telephone manner and experience of client service
  • Have fantastic verbal and written communication skills
  • Have excellent IT skills and be an expert user of MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows Explorer
  • Be ready to grow with them - this role would suit someone who is looking for the opportunity to build a career

Product Designer - Hampshire - up to £26,000 (V03557)

This company manufacture very high quality lighting and furnishing products for the interior design and specifier marketplace, their products have earned a reputation of being extremely well made and beautifully designed.

The company is now looking for a Product Designer to join their small design team, primarily assisting with the design and development of the company’s new product ranges. This will include producing concept renders, reverse engineering and product design plus the generation of technical drawings for manufacture. You will also be required to solve engineering problems should they arise and comfortably manage your own time and workload in a fast-paced design environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a creative working environment, in a role that would offer an individual the chance to develop their own skills in the high-end interior industry.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Fluency in SolidWorks and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Approx 2 years' experience in design for manufacture
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and materials
  • Experience of working with lighting products will be a distinct advantage
  • Able to communicate well to a wider team as well as to manufacturers
  • The ability to project manage and problem solve
  • A keen eye for quality and design with great attention to detail
