Production Assistant / Furniture Technician - London - negotiable (V04284)

Our client is an innovative and pioneering gallery specialising in original, contemporary furniture design and collectable works. Championing leading international artists, architects, and designers (both emerging and world-renowned) the Studio has built a strong reputation for producing exceptional, museum-quality pieces.

The Studio is now seeking a highly motivated Production Assistant with strong technical knowledge of furniture construction, materials, and production methods to support its Production team across a wide range of projects.

The Role
Working closely with the Production team, artists, suppliers and workshops, the Production Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of bespoke furniture, lighting and sculptural works to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities include to:

  • Provide administrative and practical support to the Production Team across multiple projects
  • Process quotations, purchase orders and invoices
  • Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, workshops and artists
  • Assist with exhibition and fair planning, installations and de-installations
  • Organise domestic and international transport of furniture, lighting, sculpture and samples
  • Generate renders and visuals to support the gallery sales team
  • Source new suppliers and manufacturers

Skills & Experience required by the Production Assistant:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills
  • Strong planning, organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to interpret sketches and technical drawings
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AdobeCS, Rhino 3D, KeyShot and/or V-Ray
  • Strong knowledge of materials and production processes, including bronze, wood, steel, resin and decorative finishes
  • Experience producing luxury, bespoke, or limited-edition sculptural furniture, lighting or accessories

About the Role
Working as part of a collaborative design hub, you’ll play a key role in bringing imaginative playground concepts to life. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating thoughtful, accurate CAD layouts and costings, based on client briefs and site information
  • Ensuring all designs meet UK and international safety standards, alongside internal company standards

About You

The Role

This is a hybrid role and the role will focus primarily on brand rollout programmes within the retail and hospitality sectors, particularly food & beverage.

The Role:
Working closely with the Senior Design Team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawing packages and supporting statutory application processes across multiple fast-paced projects.

Key Responsibilities are to:

  • Produce detailed working drawings and technical packages to a high standard
  • Prepare and submit statutory applications including Planning, Building Regulations, Listed Building Consent, Advertisement Consent, Licensing and Warrants
  • Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, consultants, and contractors to progress applications and resolve technical queries
  • Prepare pavement licence drawings and as-built drawings for Health & Safety files
  • Work closely with Designers and the wider Design Team to deliver coordinated drawing packages
  • Assist with measured surveys and building surveys, independently or alongside senior staff

Skills & Experience:

  • Ideally 5 years’ experience within an architectural or design-led environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, detailing and building systems
  • Proven experience producing detailed technical drawings and technical packages
  • Good understanding of Planning and Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and design risk assessments
  • Experience in project coordination and an understanding of project delivery structures

Software Skills:

  • AutoCAD is essential with VectorWorks an advantage

The Role

Key Responsibilities for the Junior AV Designer include to:
