Kitchen Designer - London - up to £35,000 (V04038)

This well-established Kitchen Showroom specialise in creating bespoke kitchen, bathroom and bedroom interiors. They have been awarded “Best of Houzz” for exceptional Service and Design year on year and have an enviable staff retention record.
 
They are now looking to recruit a Kitchen Designer with creative flair to help take their business forward. The ideal candidate will be competent using Winner Design software, with experience of designing and ordering Kitchen and Bedroom furniture. They work with several German and UK manufacturers and also offer bespoke-made British furniture.
 
They work normal business hours from their showroom and you will be expected to work two Saturdays per month and be willing to visit properties to conduct surveys and take dimensions. They would also be interested in a recent graduate from a design course or college that has a genuine interest in this sector. In return salary will be £25k- £30k plus bonuses for an experienced candidate and slightly less for a junior candidate.
 
This would be a great opportunity for an individual with a proven background in design who is looking to operate in the upper end of the market, 80% of their business is local with a strong referral rate.
 
Skills and Experience sought for the Kitchen Designer:
  • Ideally between 2 and 4 years’ experience working as a Kitchen Designer or an interior designer within the residential marketplace
  • A flair for design, an eye for detail and a creative approach to selling
  • The ability to generate innovative design ideas with attention to detail
  • An ongoing interest in design and a desire to keep up with new interior / designer trends

Art Technician - London - up to £35,000 (V04039)

Our client is an innovative and pioneering gallery of original and unique contemporary furniture design and products. Championing and showcasing the work of leading international artists, architects, and designers who are both new and world famous, they have grown to be renowned for the work they create.
 
They have recently created a new key role of Art Technician that they are looking to fill as soon as possible.
 
Duties of the Art Technician:
  • Responsible for handling and transporting artworks throughout the gallery space and delivery of small pieces to London client homes where required
  • Responsible for overseeing the deinstallation / installation of works in the gallery by their Fine Art shippers
  • Carrying out condition reports and assessing for damages both at their warehouse (Wimbledon) and gallery sites (Piccadilly & Vauxhall)
  • Booking logistics for the Production Studio and updating the gallery inventory system
  • Packing works and samples were required
  • Ensuring works are correctly labelled
  • Responsible for general gallery maintenance
Skills and Experience needed for the Art Technician:
  • Previous experience working for a gallery, museum or exhibition
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • IT literate
  • Physically able to carry out this role as it will involve some manual lifting and carrying of artwork
 
Salary and Benefits:

Space Planner - Shropshire - up to £27,000 (V04037)

Our client is a provider of specialist education design spaces which help improve both wellbeing and learning outcomes. Supporting the need to tailor the learning environment, they can provide movable, flexible, or modular furniture that allow spaces to be rearranged with ease to reflect the curriculum requirements and for short-term changes of layout and use.
 
They currently have an opening for a Space Planner and can offer the option, should the candidate prefer, of a flexible working arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
 
As a Space Planner you will work closely with the sales team to prepare and deliver innovative space plans for educational and public sector establishments. This will be an interesting and busy role, working with a variety of clients with differing needs involving accurately interpreting the information provided to produce 2D drawings, designs and furniture specifications. You will then be presenting the schemes to clients and keeping up to date with furniture suppliers, trends, and creative learning solutions.
 
Skills and Experience needed for the Space Planner role:
  • Strong space planning skills
  • Proficient in Excel with proven working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Evidence of a creative, design led background and relevant qualifications
  • Knowledge of SketchUp would be an advantage
  • Planned and organised with strong attention to detail
  • An eye for proportion / colour / balance design and good 2D awareness
  • Self-motivated and a positive communicator with good listening skills
 
Salary and Benefits:

  • Ensuring that all products are engineered properly from a prototyping perspective

Our client is a supplier of furniture to the commercial interiors sector working with well-known clients in the Technology, Media, Legal and Finance industries. They have offices in the UK, Europe and Africa and it is for the London office that they are seeking a junior interior designer for. 

You will be working to deliver a number of international projects running simultaneously under the guidance of a lead designer. To deliver these projects, you will be engaging with key stakeholders across various departments throughout all stages of a project. Day to day tasks include space planning, creating product specification packs, visualising settings, product take-offs, as well as creating supporting presentational documents. 

This role will allow you to learn and develop your product knowledge and skills, working on a client account that provides varied opportunities and unique challenges.  

Skills and Experience needed by the Interior Designer:

  • At least 1 years' commercial design experience
  • Able to demonstrate an assertive, self-starting approach
  • Problem solving mindset and eagerness to show initiative
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • A technical understanding of space planning regulations for install purposes

Our client provides show home interior design and installation to the UK’s property development sector. They have a large design studio and work force and have nationwide clients. 

Increasingly busy they are looking to increase their team of Stylists and welcome applicants nationwide although are particularly interested to hear from any living in the South of England. As a Stylist you will manage the final styling and dressing out of a show home following its installation. The role involves sourcing and installing interior design styling products, prints and mirrors in line with their clients’ briefs for their show homes.

 Key Accountabilities for the Stylist include:

  • Working with and understanding a design brief and budget
  • Buying of dressing out items to suit the style of the design presentation
  • Understanding the furniture being installed and planning the dressing out
  • Ordering and purchasing of dressing out items from suppliers and retailers
  • Having a clear understanding of the competition and market dynamics
  • Effective management of own schedule of activity and work

 Skills and Experience sought from the Stylist:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role in the interior design industry
  • A good eye for proportion/colour and balance
  • Organised and able to work to schedules and deadlines
  • Able to operate self-sufficiently in a principally field based role
  • A full UK driving licence
  • CSCS green card required (can be attained via the Company)

 Salary and Benefits:

They are seeking a creative 3D Visualiser, preferably (but not necessarily) with a knowledge of historical interior architecture, joinery or furniture able to create visuals and presentations of interiors showing a variety of materials. This is a junior to mid-level role rather than senior.
Skills and experience sought from the 3D Visualiser:
  • Strong 3D CAD modeller, with material application and rendering (preferably 3DS Max/ V-Ray but not essential)
  • An eye for composition, materials, lighting, storytelling, and multi-media presentations
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
  • 2+ years' professional experience and a portfolio of projects worked on at a high level

Our client is a well-established bespoke lighting business who are looking for a Project Manager to join the team and help expand its operations.
 
As a Project Manager you will be the lead point of contact for nominated key accounts. You will be expected to manage all client project matters from tender/concept stage through to delivery. Other duties include: assisting in the definition of project scope and objectives; developing and delivering to customers a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress; examining current ways of working and seeking to eliminate paperwork and explore avenues to improve communication internally; supplying clients with quotations, updates, photographs, schedules and drawings; arranging and assisting in organising Design Studio client visits.
 
 
Skills and experience needed for the Project Manager:
  • Organised - able to manage multiple concurrent tasks - good at setting priorities
  • Personable and professional - able to build relationships with suppliers, clients and colleagues
  • A background and understanding of manufacturing, particularly in a bespoke business
