Interior Designer (Showhomes) - Hereford & Worcester - up to £30,000 (V03679)

This interior design, showhome and flooring business have an experienced team of creative design professionals dedicated to creating impactful designs.

They have invested in a first class fabric library and utilising the latest design software they are always looking to innovate. They also have their own soft furnishing production facility where they can design and print bespoke wallpaper and produce high quality custom wall art.

With an ever increasing workload they are currently looking to recruit an experienced designer, ideally with a fairly contemporary style.

Objective and experience required:

  • You will be working on your own projects from brief through to presentation and installation so will need to be organised with good project management skills
  • Previous experience from within the showhome / residential design industry, ideally at least 4 years is sought
  • Designs will be created both as hand drawn sketches and using Photoshop and InDesign
  • Good communication skills are required in order to liaise with clients and suppliers
  • You will be working both as part of a team and as an individual

Using advanced design and presentation technology, they are able to take a customer's idea, add to it, then produce a unique concept completely tailored around their individual project. As well as retail clients, their regular customers also include property developers, architects and interior designers with designs ranging from the modern lustre and contemporary simplicity, to the sophistication and charm of the classic styles in their own handmade ranges.

Due to a healthy level of business they need to increase the number of designers in their showroom and seek an individual who has relevant creative design experience they can bring with them as well as excellent client facing and selling skills.

Ideal skills and experience includes:

This company is a successful business designing and manufacturing rooflights and roof windows for the UK construction / specification market.

They have an in-house design team responsible for creating one-off designs to their clients' requirements which are manufactured in the UK and assembled at their premises. They work alongside some of the top architect firms in the country and their products often feature on award-winning architectural buildings throughout the UK.

They are looking for a Product Design Engineer who can handle the challenges of delivering bespoke rooflight and roof window designs to the architects' and contractors' specifications. It is a highly technical role which requires a practical and motivated individual with excellent organisation and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to work at a fast pace.

The right candidate will be able to:

  • Design, develop and detail feasible solutions and products for manufacture to customer specifications
  • Produce fully detailed 3D models, in SolidWorks, for manufacturing purposes
  • Undertake all necessary simulations, thermal calculations and prototyping to ensure products are fit for purpose
  • Support and assist the internal teams and suppliers to ensure successful bespoke projects from order through to dispatch to agreed quality standards
  • Provide a high level of technical advice or project support to internal and external customers where required
  • Manage their own workload to meet agreed deadlines
  • Communicate well at all levels

You will ideally have 3 years' experience working full-time within a design environment for a technical/specialist products company but they might also consider a recent graduate with work experience. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication would be an advantage.

Their work includes sets and props for events, product launches, exhibitions, sampling campaigns and experiential marketing projects such as a 5m high giant lipstick, a billboard sized chocolate bar and a UK tour of experiential mud huts for a leading charity.

They are seeking a Production Manager to ensure that all their projects are delivered as designed on time and on budget and to enable production to improve and increase capacity through more efficient production processes.

This is a pivotal hands-on role managing a hardworking and committed production team. You will be responsible for the full end-to-end production for all projects - taking the lead on production and project management from brief through to delivery and working effectively with the client, production team and sub-contractors on a daily basis.

Person / Experience Required:

Candidates would ideally come from a proven theatrical or exhibition background and have experience in production management of a broad range of sets, props and modular units, from conception through to execution. Working with an adaptable, flexible, accommodating attitude is a must and understanding the ever-changing demands of high-end brands is essential.

Candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in exacting manufacturing projects
  • Experience in supervising and motivating a team of workers
  • Good computer skills around MS office, AutoCAD skills an advantage but not essential
  • Experienced in the planning and executing of projects based around strict budgets and deadlines
  • Ability to deliver reports on scheduling and costs
  • Monitoring of product standards and implementation of quality-control programmes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Driving and fork lift licence would be helpful but not essential

With offices based in West Sussex and London this position although predominantly to work out of their Southern Office, will need to have easy travel to London and sometimes work out of the London office. It is likely to be a 50/50 split with travel expenses covered to London.

Their in-house services include event design and production, project management, spray finishing, sewing and costume, operations, logistics and storage. As the Workshop Manager you will be responsible for the full end-to-end production build for all projects - taking the lead on production builds from brief through to delivery.

Objectives and Requirements:

  • Maintain and organise the workshop space, woodstore, outside yard and storage containers
  • Man management experience will be needed in order to oversee the team in the workshop along with a sub contract production team which can vary in size from 1 to 20, depending on each project
  • A theatrical or exhibition background would be useful as you will need knowledge of production for a broad range of sets, props, joinery and modular units
  • A friendly, respectful and accommodating personality will suit the culture of this company
  • As this is working with the ever-changing needs of brands you will often be working under pressure to tight deadlines
