An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a unique, design-led luxury interiors brand. The Company has its roots in designing and curating collections of furniture and accessories that showcase the finest in British design and craftsmanship.

As a Project Manager you will be managing both bespoke and fitted projects from initial client meetings through design and manufacture to final installation or delivery. You will be working closely with the Sales, Design and Workshop teams.

Main areas of involvement for the Project Manager will be:

  • Advising Sales & Design
  • Costing & Budget control
  • Manufacture
  • Quality Control
  • Site Management
  • Weekly Team Meetings


Skills and experience needed for the Project Manager:

  • Furniture making / design / project management experience
  • Commercial awareness and knowledge of financials
  • Competency with all basic Microsoft programs
  • Able to read and understand Technical Drawings (AutoCAD knowledge would be useful but not essential)
  • Have a full UK driving licence

As part of their growth plan, they are in the process of refurbishing their East London showroom and are also looking to recruit a new member of the team. As a Technical Kitchen Designer, you will be working alongside the Sales Designers creating technical drawings and kitchen layouts, obtaining pricing information, specifying and collating quotes, co-ordinating installations. It is not a front-end sales role but pivotal in helping the business expand and meet customer demand. You will be the hub of the company based in the showroom.
 
This would suit a technically minded individual who is happy to get involved and participate in projects. You will also need to be comfortable with working on your own at times when the designers are out of the showroom.
 
There is also the potential to create social media posts and blogs if of interest.
 
Skills and Experience for the Technical Kitchen Designer:
  • Experience of kitchen design and plans
  • Able to carry out surveys, draw up designs and liaise with both the suppliers and the workshop
  • Good attention to detail
  • SketchUp and CAD literate, they use ArtiCAD
  • A team player with good communication skills

Their purpose-built manufacturing complex uses the latest technology and computer-controlled facilities to create an exciting range of modern and classic kitchens that feature the very latest innovations and design features.
 
They currently have an opening for a Contract Kitchen Designer to work with their Housing Developer clients. You will be responsible for producing designs and estimates for developers from a client's own brief and architects' drawings.
Main duties of the Contract Kitchen Designer:
  • Liaising with Developers and the Sales Team
  • Producing accurate designs and estimates for kitchen layouts 
  • Preparing completed designs / estimates into a tender presentation
  • Scaling from Architects' drawings supplied by the Developer
  • Establishing an installation budget and plan within contract guidelines 
  • Undertaking showroom tours as and when required
Skills and experience for the Contract Kitchen Designer:
  • Familiar with scaling from plans and designing kitchens
  • Fully proficient using a CAD system (they use ArtiCAD)
  • Possessing creativity and design flair to create a functional, attractive kitchen from scratch
  • Understanding of kitchen component parts would be advantageous
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.) or similar
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Photoshop desirable but not essential
This role will be based in their Head-Office and they are looking for a Contract Kitchen Designer with a “can do” attitude and a friendly, sociable personality. In return you will be working Monday to Friday with no weekends as this is not a retail role and on top of your salary they have an employee benefits system and company pension contributions.

They use EstiMac so you will need to be both IT and commercially minded.
 
Key skills and experience for the FF&E Designer:
  • 3 to 4 years’ relevant industry experience

Deputy Workshop Manager - Props & Furniture - London - up to £35,000 (V03946)

This busy company supplies furniture, props and accessories to the film and television industry covering many eras - from Medieval through to the 1980's. Their showroom is within easy access of all the major London film studios and they have created a new role of Deputy Workshop Manager.
 
Your role will be to assist the Workshop Manager in leading and managing their friendly in-house workshop team, along with maintaining and repairing the vast stock of antique furniture and accessories. Additionally, due to industry demand, they anticipate expanding this department to incorporate model making so any previous model making experience would be beneficial.
 
The successful applicant will need knowledge of a broad range of construction techniques and materials, as well as excellent woodworking skills and an interest in furniture restoration. You will also be working in conjunction with the Loss & Damage Coordinator to calculate repair costings which will be passed on to their clients.
 
Skills and experience needed for the Deputy Workshop Manager:
 
  • At least two years’ experience in theatre, set or scenic construction
  • Experience in managing budgets, purchasing and negotiating with suppliers
  • Strong communication skills
  • Initiative to work alone with minimum supervision
  • Positive and flexible approach to problem-solving with attention to detail
  • Computer literate
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Knowledge of upholstery and traditional French polishing would be an advantage
  • Qualifications or studies in electrical installation would also be an advantage
 
In return the Deputy Workshop Manager role has a salary of between £30k to £35k and plenty of training and career progression as the company is expanding both in size and the services it offers.

Based near the Hertfordshire and Essex border they have an opening for a Product Design Engineer to work on new products for the North American market.

You will be developing products from concept through to approval in accordance with relevant regulations and standards suitable for this territory. This will involve working with the Product Engineering Manager to ensure products are engineered to meet their sustainability principles, supporting the team, working within the given timelines needed to meet customer expectations and seasonal launches. Regular communication with Supplier Liaison Managers is essential within the development of any new product. Everyone in the team and company is encouraged to share their ideas.

They are open to considering either a junior or a mid-weight design engineer.

Product Design Engineer requirements:
  • 1+ years' experience working as a Product Design Engineer.
  • Ability to produce engineering drawings to IEC standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of various manufacturing processes suitable for mass production.
  • SolidWorks literate.
  • Knowledge and basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator for instructions and illustrations.
  • Able and comfortable with taking ownership of projects assigned.
  • Open to giving and taking constructive feedback.
  • Creative engineering flair.

They are seeking both a Senior Interior Designer and a Mid-weight Interior Designer. With offices based in West Sussex (near the coast) and in London both positions will include working from home and from both offices in the work-life balance pattern.
 
The roles will have a wide variety of responsibilities with the senior taking projects from initial enquiry and concept pitch through to realisation of the design and drawing packages and on to installation and completion. The mid-weight will be working as part of the team at all these stages of the project cycle.
 
Key skills and experience sought for both Interior Designer roles:
  • To be a confident presenter and pitcher (senior)
  • Have the technical knowledge of how to realise a conceptual design
  • The ability to lead a project design team (senior)
  • Commercial workplace design experience (2+ years for the mid-weight and 6+ years for the senior) 
  • Good hand drawings and sketching skills
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and the ability to carry out site-surveys
  • Ability to bring innovative ideas to the table, challenge the brief and push the boundaries
  • Hands-on individuals with a strong team-work approach
  • Flexible to travel to both offices and have a current driving licence
These are permanent roles within an excellent studio environment and with an immediate start available. Salaries on offer are £25k to £30k for the Mid-Weight Interior Designer and £40k to £55k for the Senior Interior Designer.
