Furniture Designer / CAD Technician - london - up to £30,000 (V03964)

Our client designs and manufacturers contract furniture including meeting tables, credenzas, storage & lockers, chairs, booths & banquette seating. They have a showroom in Central London and a manufacturing facility in Lincolnshire and are currently recruiting for a Furniture Designer.
 
You will ideally be based in London, but they will consider Lincolnshire as the base if a more convenient location.
 
You will be producing furniture for the office, educational and institutional markets using AutoCAD for 2D drawings and Inventor / Excel for production drawings and Bills of Material for order processing and stock control.  This role will mainly be producing production drawings, BoMs, renders and creating 3D models for their product portfolio. There will also however be occasions to produce space plans for clients and visuals using SketchUp and/or 3D Studio Max.
 
Skills and experience needed for the Furniture Designer:
 
  • Familiarity with Autodesk products
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Good communication skills
  • An interest in the technical aspects of products and their design
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines (once up to speed in the job)

With an increase in business, they are seeking a Kitchen Designer / Interior Architect to join the team based in their showroom. In this role you will need to demonstrate a flair for creative solutions with both design and practicality in mind. You will have a fine eye for design and detail and be extremely thorough in the delivery of your projects.
 
Skills and experience sought for the Kitchen Designer / Interior Architect:
  • A knowledge and appreciation for fitted furniture, joinery and internal architecture
  • 2+ years’ experience on bespoke, handmade kitchens and/or fitted furniture 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • CAD user preferable (Revit or similar) 
  • Able to think for yourself and come up with practical solutions
  • The ability to generate innovative design ideas with attention to detail
 
The role will be working Monday to Friday with 2 Saturdays a month (day off in lieu). Technical Production Assistant - Props + Events - Essex - up to £28,000 (V03942)

This small family-run company specialise in Experiential Design, Production and Installation and are proud to count large brands and leading marketing agencies amongst their clients. Providing a range of services from exhibition stands, product launches and bespoke sampling stands to PR stunts, sampling bins and giant props, the company is theatrical in its approach and enjoys encouraging both clients and staff to be different.
 
Based near the Essex and Hertfordshire borders, they are currently looking for a Technical Production Assistant to support the Production Team. You will be creating CAD drawings, art working, proposals, pitch work and design costing. You will also be project managing smaller projects from brief through to delivery, ensuring successful realisation of projects adopting a hands-on approach to working in the production workshop.
 
Other duties for the Technical Production Assistant include:
  • Design interpretation, creating mood boards if required and basic visualisations
  • Performing practical tasks in the workshop such as prop making, finishing, vinyling, painting, sewing and basic carpentry
  • Creating CNC files and supervising CNC machining when required 
  • Assisting with the creation of content for social media posts and stories 
  • Assisting with the recruitment of new subcontractors, updating availability / task sheets and bookings
  • Liaising with suppliers  
 
Skills and experience needed for the Technical Production Assistant:
  • Experience of using a CAD software package, CNC and Adobe Illustrator
  • Good administration and project management skills
  • Able to demonstrate a hands-on approach at all times 
  • A team worker, highly organised and flexible in their approach
  • An understanding of the fast paced, ever-changing demands of high-end brands and clients 
  • Be health and safety compliant at all times 
  • Positive, sociable and adaptable

This creative Design & Build consultancy works within the food & beverage, hospitality and leisure industry. The services they provide include interior design and brand development, catering equipment design, build and interior fit out, equipment supply and installation and project management.
 
Due to a sustained increase in workload, they are currently seeking an enthusiastic Interior Designer to join their team. The role will be varied and will involve working throughout all project stages from concept to completion alongside the design and project delivery team. The role is full time / permanent and will be primarily office based, however they operate a hybrid working system and the role will also involve attending site visits throughout the UK.
 
Working as part of a team you will be responsible for generating concept proposals, creating presentation documents, concept visuals, developing FF&E specifications and sample boards, producing drawing packages for tender and construction and providing design support from concept to completion.
 
 
Experience and skills sought for the Interior Designer:
  • At least 3 years' commercial interior design experience 
  • Creative with excellent technical awareness
  • An understanding of the food service /commercial catering environment would be an advantage
  • You should be confident meeting with both clients and contractors
  • Fluent in VectorWorks / AutoCAD, SketchUp and the Adobe CS
  • A good understanding of statutory approvals (building regulations, planning & CDM2015) would be an advantage
Working hours are 37.5 Hours per week, with 20 days annual leave increasing for each year of service to 25days. In addition to a competitive salary there is private healthcare, pension and a discretionary bonus depending on performance.

Main areas of responsibility for the Furniture Designer include: 
  • Design development for Bars, Reception Counters, Wall Panelling, Feature Ceilings and Banquette Seating 
  • Researching and integrating components / fittings 
  • Generating clear and accurate approval and production drawings
  • Sketching out specific details, ideas and sections to present options for the construction of an item 
  • Researching the required materials taken from the finishes schedule

  • Booking and attending model reviews, following an item through into production
 
Skills and experience sought from the Furniture Designer:
  • 5+ years’ experience in producing detailed drawings of bespoke furniture for manufacture
  • SolidWorks proficient or similar
  • A strong understanding of furniture production methods and materials 
  • Able to generate accurate, detailed production drawings 
  • Able to work to timescales and deadlines 
Working office hours will be 8:30am to 5pm and in return they offer a salary of between £25k and £32k, company pension, Christmas bonus scheme and hamper plus a summer BBQ and Christmas party!

The Project Manager will also:
  • Ensure client satisfaction, handing over each project on time and without complaint

  • Hand over MEP drawings and ensure the proper execution of them
  • Carry our regular inspections on site
  • Work closely with Sales Designers and the General Manager to plan the works
  • Help coordinate delivery of materials

  • Resolve problems and implement improvements
 
Skills and experience sought for the Project Manager:

  • Able to maintain a high level of quality 
  • A team worker, highly organised, flexible and IT competent
 
Your monthly renumeration will be made up of a salary (tax free), rent allowance, medical insurance, transportation, life assurance, company mobile phone and fuel allowance. There is also an annual return ticket back to the UK and accommodation provided initially when you arrive until you can arrange your own. The company will also process the successful candidate's work permit.

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic technically minded furniture designer to join a design-led manufacturer of vanity units, wardrobes and dressing rooms designed for housebuilders, main contractors and developers.
 
With the mark of the FSD, all their wood-based products are from sustainable sources. They have invested heavily in a state-of-the-art biomass plant which recycles all their wood waste and uses it to heat the factory. This means minimal landfill and reduced fossil fuel usage. 
The successful candidate will receive full training on Imos and AlphaCAM CAD systems.

  • Designing products and modelling components on AutoCAD
  • Producing drawings and costings from models
  • Producing manufacturing data from CAD

They are currently seeking an Interior Architect or Interior Designer and are open to part home / part office flexible working although you will need to be living within a commutable distance of their offices in South Hertfordshire. They are close to the Train Station for public transport and have a large car park if you prefer to drive.
 
Typical tasks would include:
  • Taking a client brief
  • Conducting research/surveys to refine client requirements
  • Developing initial proposals to include existing and proposed layouts
  • Creating visuals in the form of mood & finishes boards
  • Pitching proposals to clients
  • Design development & construction drawings
Experience and skills set for the Interior Designer / Interior Architect:
