This people centric business designs, manufactures and supplies exceptional decorative lighting to the Hospitality and Residential sectors. They have a strong client base, regularly winning large projects to supply decorative lighting to major names within the hotel and restaurant sector.

You will be attending briefings with the clients' designers to discuss their requirements and offering "intelligent" proposals based on your understanding of both the product and the space it will inhabit. This will include developing new products, reverse engineering and optimising existing products, and generating technical drawings for manufacture. You will also be required to solve design and engineering challenges and manage your time and projects in a fast-paced design environment.

Experience and Skills required for the Junior Product Designer role:

  • Educated in a relevant degree discipline such as Product Design or Design Engineering
  • Experienced user of SolidWorks or similar (Creo, NX, Fusion 360 etc.)
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and designing for production manufacture
  • A keenness to learn and develop skills and knowledge with in product design

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic technically minded junior furniture designer to join a design-led manufacturer of vanity units, wardrobes and dressing rooms designed for housebuilders, main contractors and developers.

With the mark of the FSD, all their wood based products are from sustainable sources. They have invested heavily in a state of the art biomass plant which recycles all their wood waste and uses it to heat the factory. This means minimal landfill and reduced fossil fuel usage.

Responsibilities for the Junior Furniture Designer will include:

  • Designing products on the CAD system from client specifications
  • Modelling components on AutoCAD
  • Producing drawings from models
  • Producing costings from models
  • Producing manufacturing data from CAD
  • Thoroughly checking all work at every stage
  • Liaising with clients to co-ordinate design / installation including other trades

Full training on Imos CAD system, AlphaCAM CAD system and AutoCAD can be given where required.

Requirements for the Junior Furniture Designer:

  • Degree in Furniture Design or related subject
  • A good understanding of furniture construction, ideally fitted
  • Fluent in AutoCAD
  • Able to produce accurate technical drawings with good hand sketching skills an advantage
  • Keen and enthusiastic team player

With a steady growth in business, they are currently seeking an FF&E Designer to join their busy team responsible for all FF&E elements of projects. This will include collating artwork and accessories, ordering samples and handling fabric suppliers, listing and specifying, and inputting into schedules. Working closely with the team you will be seeing your projects through to installation on-site. They use EstiMac for procurement.

You will have a modern approach with a passion for working in the high-end sector and delivering luxury design. The preferred candidate will have proven experience in all aspects of residential and commercial design and you will have worked from concept to completion in accordance with the clients brief with the proven ability to work independently. You must also be confident collaborating with design and architectural teams and working in a client-facing role.

Experience and Skills required for the role of FF&E Interior Designer:

  • Ideally 3 to 6 years’ industry experience
  • Experienced as an FF&E Interior Designer rather than an Architectural Interior Designer
  • Proficiency with Microsoft, Photoshop, AutoCAD, InDesign or similar program for the production of drawings, mood boards and presentation material
  • Eye for colour and design
