Senior Product Design Engineer - London - up to £50,000 (V04091)

Our client are leaders in the field of specialist art lighting. They specialise in the design and manufacture of LED products that transform works of art within private residences, stately homes, galleries and museums, with commissions for high-end commercial spaces.
 
They currently have an opening for a Product Design Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development and production of architectural LED lighting products. This will include inputting products into the MRP system, creating manufacturing drawings, updating BOMs, product prototyping and product testing. This would particularly suit a technically minded individual with knowledge from the architectural lighting product design marketplace.
 
Skills and Experience needed for the Product Design Engineer:
  • 5+ years' relevant experience to include lighting
  • Knowledge of product engineering / manufacturing processes / techniques
  • Ideally knowledge of MRP/ERP software systems and production of BOM’s
  • Solid organisational skills
  • Problem-solving capability
  • Fluent with SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Adobe CS

Our client is an international furniture company who are constantly growing and have long-standing collaborations with renowned international designers. In the UK they have three teams that work from their two showrooms to provide clients the ideal furniture, furnishings and interiors through their retail, bespoke and contract teams.
 
They are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to work on projects within London for their contracts team. The role is likely to be 65% office based and 35% onsite dealing with developers and contractors so good strong diplomacy and negotiating skills will be needed.
 
Profile:
  • Ambitious and driven person who is looking to be part of a prestigious brand where success is recognised and rewarded
  • Ability to work in a team with a positive outlook
  • Able to manage projects independently and take responsibility for decisions
Some key responsibilities for the Project Manager: 
  • To prepare quotations and tender returns for multiunit projects
  • To collate data for pricing and prepare pricing documents using excel or other estimating software
  • To prepare information packages, containing drawings, details and any other information needed for the site team to carry out installation
  • To place orders with the factory and check order confirmations
  • To visit site and liaise with site managers making sure design details have been clearly understood by the site team and make site reports
  • To meet deadlines for submission dates provided by clients for drawings and quotations
  • To manage Client interfacing, following project from tender stage through to practical completion
Skills and experience needed for the role of Project Manager:
  • Project Management experience of £1m+ projects and multiple sites simultaneously
  • Able to collate information from different sources / suppliers to prepare costings
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and able to read construction drawings
  • PC literate - Word / Excel / PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills and analytical thinking
  • Ability to navigate Aconex, Sentryk, Asite, V4P etc.
  • Experience of managing Kitchen, Wardrobe and other joinery packages
  • Good presentation skills with the ability to understand a brief and to explain and present ideas
In return the salary range on offer is £40k to £50k with full business travel expenses paid and a company pension. There will also be full product and company training provided in London and in Italy.

The company is in the process of acquiring and setting up a new workshop and are seeking a Production Manager who relishes a challenge. You will be working across a variety of machinery and processes and will be involved at the ground floor level of an exciting new operation to service a large existing customer base.
 
The role of Production Manager will be pivotal to the smooth and efficient running of the workshop and the successful candidate will ideally have the below skill sets:
  • An ability to interpret sketches and drawings
  • Strong planning and organisational skills in order to project manage the production of furniture and cabinetry
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills
  • An ability to set up and operate machinery, including panel saws, surface planers, mortisers, thicknessers, tenoners, spindle moulders, rip saws, pillar drills and band saws to cut and shape a variety of wood and wood substitutes
  • Have an understanding of the finishing / spraying / oiling processes
The successful candidate should be a positive, enthusiastic and resourceful self-starter, with relevant experience and skills in planning and managing resources.

Increasingly busy with lots of exciting new projects starting they are looking for an additional Interior Designer to join their team. This will be a at a mid-weight level and requires strong technical skills and VectorWorks fluency.
 
You will be responsible for creating conceptual joinery packages, lighting and general arrangement plans and detailed layouts. You will also be liaising with suppliers, carrying out site surveys and coordinating throughout the project design process. This would suit an interior designer who has a few years’ experience working in the residential sector and is seeking a role with varied responsibilities with room to grow and progress. It is not an FF&E role.

  • A team player but also self-motivated and proactive
 
Although they are based near a train station, they would prefer the candidate to have their own car for the occasional visit to clients, suppliers and their warehouse. Salary on offer is likely to be between £30k and £35k. Skills and experience sought for the CAD Furniture Technician:

Experienced in all aspects of joinery manufacture and installation, they work closely with main contractors, designers and architects on both classical and contemporary interiors including dressing rooms, staircases and libraries, cinemas, wine rooms and games rooms.
 
Ever busy, they are currently seeking a Project Manager to manage and maintain programmes to meet both Company and Client objectives. As well as running these projects and being responsible for their team's performance and output the Project Managers also assist in the bidding / winning process in order to maximise the commercial advantage. They might consider someone working hybrid with 2 or 3 days per week from home, but you would need to be living in the South East of England.
 
Experience and skills needed from the Project Manager:
  • Project Management experience from within cabinet making / furniture / joinery / interior design industry
  • The ability to manage and lead internal members of a project team
  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of financials around projects
  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of AutoCAD to read and amend drawings for manufacture
