Senior Interior Designer - London - negotiable (V03806)

Due to an internal promotion they are currently searching for a confident Senior Interior Designer to join their Design team. This is a permanent, full-time role, starting as soon as possible.

The Senior Designer will be providing design solutions from initial brief to handover of a project and all stages in between. A trustworthy and safe pair of hands is required as a large portion of their upcoming work will be delivering on some of their latest and largest business wins to date.

The main responsibilities of the Senior Interior Designer include to:

  • Take and question briefs and then develop them into a design schemes
  • Keep abreast of new products including features and benefits for future specification
  • Utilise knowledge through design process to improve saleability and cost margins
  • Use experience and knowledge to aid furniture specification singularly or within team groups
  • Provide space plans to aid the specification, procurement and installation processes
  • Create visuals and presentations to aid the sales / tender process
  • Keep abreast of IT innovations and update / manage in-house IT issues
  • Retain and improve relations with suppliers

Candidates must have proven experience and records of winning and working on large projects. They must have commercial office interior experience and have worked on projects c£1m plus. Proficiency on AutoCAD, PowerPoint, SketchUp, InDesign and Photoshop will be essential.

The Senior Interior Designer will be a confident individual who can take the lead. Along with a strong passion about design and delivery, a proactive, dedicated and ambitious attitude is sought. They must have the ability to work with a number of colleagues outside of the Design department and have good communication skills.

Product Design Engineer - London - up to £40,000 (V03804)

They are currently looking for a design engineer to support the Design Manager, maintaining and building the CAD infrastructure, supporting day-to-day design work and interfacing with other sales, design and customer support functions. The role will also progress into designing and developing new products.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced design engineer with a strong knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, i-Logic programming (preferably) and 3D visualisation to work within the lively in-house design team. You will need to be an excellent communicator with a mix of technical skills and an understanding of design and aesthetics, the sort of individual that is keen to learn and thrives in a busy and close team. Experience working with furniture is also needed.

Main responsibilities for the Design Engineer are:

  • Working with the sales team and clients to provide solutions for customer driven design briefs
  • Customer site visits and surveys
  • Designing customised products for specific client requirements
  • Producing assembly diagrams and instructions
  • Producing detailed space plans and extracting product data
  • Providing lists of components and quoting

  • Producing 3D visuals from assembly drawings

They are recruiting for an experienced and talented metalsmith craftsperson to join their creative and friendly production workshop team. This is a position which would suit a person who is time-served working in fine art bronze foundries or artist / design studios, involved in manufacturing high quality functional interior products or sculpture, in metals such as bronze, brass and steel.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Metalworker

  • Fabrication of brass lighting or furniture from raw materials
  • Fabrication of steel or iron lighting or furniture
  • Ability to train others in metalwork processes
  • Assembly of cast bronze components to create functional sculptural products
  • TIG Welding, Silver Soldering, Soft Soldering and Metal Chasing
  • Jig and pattern making
  • Fabrication of brass components
  • Lathe Work and polishing

Person and Experience Required for the Metalworker:

  • Typically 10 years' experience particularly in bronze and brass
  • Experience within the arts or interior product manufacturing is important
  • Proven experience in making high-end sculptural products
  • Knowledge of luxury furniture and lighting manufacturing
  • Demonstrable skills, taking a brief through to completion
