A great full time opportunity has arisen for a CAD Setting Out Draughtsperson to work on bespoke joinery projects.

At Chamber Furniture, we combine the finest materials with outstanding craftsmanship, and a host of clever details and features for all our fitted furniture and joinery throughout the home.
Due to a steady increase in business we require an experienced person to produce Setting Out Drawings and Production Cutting Lists for the manufacturing of bespoke high end joinery including Kitchens. Bedrooms, Studies and Wine Rooms.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Joinery Fitter, have had experience working as a Bench Joiner and/or have experience producing Setting Out Drawings and creating Cutting Lists. You will need to be computer literate and familiar with CAD packages. Full training will be provided for the right candidate which may include a period of working alongside our current installers and bench joiners as required.

Working as part of a Drawing Office team and Furniture Designers the CAD Setting Out Draughtsperson will be based at our Factory and Showroom in Halstead, Kent.

This family-run business has been working within the kitchen marketplace for many years and over the last couple of years has been refurbishing all of their Midlands based showrooms to a very high standard.

Due to natural growth and an increase in business again, they are seeking an additional Kitchen Designer. The role will allow flexibility with some home working and although all the leads will be provided, you must be able to and be prepared to drive to visit customers' homes.

Skills and experience needed for the Kitchen Designer role:

  • Strong and proven track record within kitchen design and sales
  • Able to work to strict deadlines and targets
  • A natural flair for design, presentation and customer service
  • Good IT skills and CAD literate (they use Compusoft Winner and EQ)
  • A confident, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a positive work ethic

This family-run kitchen business has four showrooms based around the West Midlands, all having been through a period of refurbishment and upgrading over the last couple of years.

Due to natural growth and an upturn in business they are seeking a Project Manager with the ability to manage an average of 4 kitchen installations per week. There is a surveyor and an order processor as part of your team, so you will be responsible for arranging the installation date and all related trades and deliveries for the project and managing the customers through to completion.

Skills and experience for the Project Manager role:

  • Knowledge and experience from within the kitchen industry is essential

Their goal is to help shape remarkable interior beauty by nurturing, inspiring and enriching their relationships with artisans, craftspeople and partners (the communities they support) and their clients.

They are now recruiting for a Design Estimator to support the Senior Design Estimator responsible for the costing of materials and processes for the manufacturing of their pieces. A good understanding of design, form, colour and materials will be needed alongside the ability to interpret production drawings. You will be cost engineering products, maintaining excellent quality whilst providing the best costings and efficiency for product manufacturing.

Based in their offices near the workshop and showroom, you will need to have a good rapport with all stakeholders in the business, both in-house and externally with suppliers to maintain and develop good working relationships. You will also have an eye for optimum costings and be able to form an efficient database administration.

Skills, Experience and attributes needed for the Design Estimator: 

  • Adobe packages: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator

  • Degree in Product Design, Architecture or similar
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar environment
  • Highly numerical

They currently have an opening for a Furniture Designer with excellent technical knowledge of furniture construction to join their design team.

They are seeking an individual who will relish working within a dynamic environment and be flexible to accommodate daily priorities. You must be a strong team player and it is essential that you have a positive, can-do attitude. Knowledge and experience of VectorWorks is preferable but they will consider other similar CAD programmes.

Main duties for the Furniture Designer / Draughtsperson include:

  • Supervising the design team to produce working drawings
  • Production of accurate working drawings
  • Production of design concept drawings to be used in the sales process
  • Managing and co-ordinating makers and subcontractors
  • Occasional working on-site: site surveying, fitting and construction

Skills and Experience needed for the Furniture Designer / Draughtsperson:

  • Strong knowledge of both furniture manufacturing techniques and materials
  • Site installation experience is desirable, as well as practical cabinet-making or bench skills
  • At least 5 years’ experience in furniture or woodwork manufacture
  • Good hand sketching ability would be helpful

This includes: Interior design for private clients and developers; Architectural services as a RIBA Chartered Architects practice; Show Home design. They also have a dedicated Furniture, Lighting and Interior Design showroom and a separate Tiling Studio offering a vast selection of unique tiles.

An opportunity has now arisen for an Interior Designer to join the team based in their design studio above the showroom in North London. Reporting directly to the Design Director you will be managing private client and showhome interior design briefs - sourcing, designing and implementing interior design schemes.

Responsibilities for the Interior Designer also include:

  • Liaising with suppliers and working on pricings and quotations
  • Undertaking surveys and measurements as required
  • Assisting the Design Director in managing workflow
  • Attending client meetings, installations and managing the onsite fitting team
  • Being a multi-faceted role, you will be building good relationships at all levels, internally and externally

Skills and Experience needed for the Interior Designer:

  • They are ideally looking for 3+ years’ experience in interior design for private residential, developers and show home clients, although they might consider someone more junior
  • Strong FF&E experience across a broad spectrum of price points is important along with strong spatial awareness skills and attention to detail
  • It will be an advantage if you have knowledge of fabric and wallpaper companies and can measure up for window treatments
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • Knowledge of residential furniture and lighting brands would be a distinct advantage but is not essential
  • You will need your own car for travelling to clients and carrying samples (business expenses will be paid)

Salary will be dependent on experience with an end of year discretionary performance related bonus, a staff discount scheme and Company pension scheme.

Our client is an innovative gallery of original and unique contemporary furniture design and products, and are currently seeking a Production Coordinator with technical knowledge of furniture construction and production methods.

You will be planning production schedules, monitoring the production processes and control the quality standards, also interpreting sketches and drawings, ideally able to produce CAD drawings in Rhino when required. Other duties include: preparing shipping samples; organising international and domestic transport and delivery of furniture and sculptures; managing the measurements and weights of both products and packing.

Skills and Experience needed for the Production Coordinator:

  • Ability to interpret sketches and drawings
  • Ability to multitask and project manage the production of luxury sculptural / artistic furniture and products
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Computer literate ideally with 2D and 3D CAD skills
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality

Our client is one of the world’s leading artisans in professional home kitchens. They create handcrafted pieces in their renowned sleek industrial style, each kitchen showing off a bespoke design with sophisticated mechanisms.

Their UK Showroom is based centrally in London and is by appointment only. Their clients are mainly commercial and include Architects, Interior Designers, Joinery Manufacturers and Developers from all over the UK and Ireland.

They have a newly created role for an Account Manager & Project Manager that they are looking to fill. This would particularly suit an interior designer or kitchen designer whose career has moved onto Project Management with a stronger sales element.

Your remit will be to oversee all commercial aspects and the logistics of the orders. It will start with talking through the brief with the client and putting together an initial plan and layout of the design. On order acceptance these drawings will then be sent to Head Office to be fully drawn up and the manufacturing drawings produced as required for the factory. You will then be overseeing the project through to installation.

Although the role will be based in the Showroom you will be required from time to time to carry out site visits as well as booking meetings with clients to network, establish new business relationships and build upon existing ones.

Skills and experienced for the Account Manager & Project Manager role:

  • In order to have the gravitas and knowledge base you will need at least 8 years' industry experience
  • A background in Interior Design or Kitchen design
  • An excellent understanding of the luxury bespoke kitchen marketplace
  • Literate with the Adobe Suite and ideally AutoCAD
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Professional and smart in appearance
  • Proactive, self-motivated and organised

Salary will be c£35k to £45k plus travel and business expenses. There will also be occasional trips to Head Office in Italy (when permitted again).

Our client is a Designer and Maker of bespoke fine furniture hand made using the finest materials. They operate a large workshop and showroom and have worked with clients from cabinet making, free standing pieces right through to large scale bespoke residential and commercial interior projects.

They currently have an opportunity for a Senior Production Technician who has extensive experience of Cabinet Vision and knows how to design units from scratch parametrically and who is confident to build up a library of designs, set up reports, bid centres and manage a junior user. They are also open to remote working.

The Senior Production Technician will be responsible for the building and monitoring of their technical library in Cabinet Vision. You will be fundamentally influential in defining efficient and technically accurate methodologies for operations.

Main Duties also include:

  • Creating and monitoring all connections and libraries within Cabinet Vision
  • Building the bid centre for accurate pricing models
  • Research and Development of furniture hardware
  • Supporting the Design and Production Technician in understanding CV and CNC machine capabilities
  • Technical resolution and problem solving for the Operations Director
  • Overseeing the technical works created in Cabinet Vision from the Production Technician
  • Capturing trial data for additional funding

Skills and experience required for the Senior Production Technician:

  • Cabinetry technical knowledge to a senior level
  • Cabinet Vision fluency with other software skills that may be used in the future
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting
  • Good mentoring ability in order to coach others in Cabinet Vision
  • Structured, methodical and process driven
  • Calm, rational and knowledgeable
  • Good communicator internally and externally

They would ideally like a local candidate, but are open to remote working as long as the Senior Production Technician is able to come into the office as required (ideally 1-2 days a week). They are a very friendly company with plenty of social events organised (when permitted) and food supplied on Fridays.
