Furniture Specifier and Space Planner - Cheshire - negotiable (V04027)

We have a new opportunity available with one of the industry leaders in providing show home interior design and installation to the UK’s corporate property development sector.
 
They are now looking to increase their specifying team with a Furniture Specifier who will be working on a variety of Show Home designs in line with each of the clients’ briefs. Alongside a designer, you will be planning the layouts and sourcing the latest in design led furniture.
 
Key responsibilities for the Furniture Specifier include:
  • Working to a design brief to specify, spatially arrange, plan and cost furniture
  • Keeping up to date with furniture suppliers, trends and creative solutions
  • Creating and maintaining budget / costing sheets using Excel
  • Maintaining job files with any changes from original presentation / design
 
Skills and experience needed for the Furniture Specifier role:
  • Experience of working with different furniture suppliers and styles
  • Proficient in Excel with knowledge of VectorWorks / AutoCAD preferred
  • Evidence of a creative, design led background and relevant qualifications
  • Planned and organised with good attention to detail
  • An eye for proportion / colour / balance design and good 3D awareness
  • Self-motivated and a naturally positive communicator with good listening skills
Salary and Benefits:

Job responsibilities for the Product Designer will include to:
  • Design and develop market leading eyewear concepts
  • Develop the visual brand identity
  • Research trends, competitors and market best sellers

  • Liaise with suppliers, primarily in the Far East

  • An eye for exceptional design with a knowledge and understanding of luxury brands and quality
  • 5 years’ experience within a design role
  • Analytical skills and a competent user of the Microsoft Office Suite
Salary and benefits:
Salary range will be between £30k to £40k with a pension scheme, 23 days hols (plus bank holidays), company socials and of course a glasses and sunglasses allowance!

As an Interior Designer / Project Manager your main remit will be to design, procure, specify and deliver furniture, furnishings, lighting and interior products for Interior Design and Showhome projects. They are a very family-friendly business and flexible about working hours, have a low turnover of staff and plenty of repeat business from their clients.
 
Skills and Experience sought for the Interior Designer / Project Manager:
  • At least 4 years’ experience in residential interior design, ideally to include Showhomes
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Good knowledge of fabrics, furnishings, spatially aware with an eye for colour and detail

Our client is a designer and manufacturer of office furniture with a variety of product ranges including desks, storage units, lockers, tables, upholstered privacy screens and acoustic breakout furniture.
 
They are currently looking to expand their design team with a creative Product Designer to work with the development team on new products for their ranges. They are open to a hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office and 2 working from home.
 
You will be working from a brief and seeing products through from concept to manufacture. 
 
Day-to-day duties for the Product Designer will include:
  • Generating design concepts from a brief and detailing the design
  • Designing within manufacturing capabilities
  • Liaising with external suppliers
  • Creating robust SolidWorks parts, assemblies, technical drawings and general arrangement drawings
  • Prototyping and product testing / evaluation
  • Creation of concept and product visuals
  • Product costings
 
Skills and Experience sought from the Product Designer:
  • SolidWorks proficiency (they also use SWOOD)
  • 3DS Max / V-Ray and AutoCAD / DraftSight would be an advantage but training can be given
  • 3+ years' working professionally in a relevant design-based role
  • A creative, technical and enquiring mind
  • Initiative and strong problem-solving abilities
  • A good understanding of design for manufacture
  • Experience with furniture / upholstery / sheet metal components would be beneficial, but not a necessity
 
Salary and Benefits:
A salary of between £30k and £35k is on offer along with a workplace pension scheme. Hours are 8.30am to 5pm (Monday to Thursday) and 8.30am to 3pm (Fridays).

CAD Design Draughtsperson - Hybrid - South Yorkshire - up to £32,000 (V04023)

Our client is a designer and manufacturer of office furniture with a wide variety of product ranges including desks, storage units, lockers, tables, upholstered privacy screens and acoustic breakout furniture. They have a showroom in London, but it is for their Head Office and Factory in South Yorkshire that they are seeking a CAD Design Draughtsperson to assist with the production and development of products.
 
You will be working within the design team using SolidWorks to develop products and generate 3D CAD files, technical drawings, assembly visuals and bills of materials for products and parts from across the breadth of their product ranges. You will see products through from drawing to manufacture, liaising with on-site manufacturing, production and administrative teams. 
 
Prototyping new products and product testing will also be part of the role as will the creation of product costings for product launches and special enquiries. They are open to a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.
 
Skills and Experience sought for the CAD Design Draughtsperson:
  • SolidWorks fluency, with a 2D CAD package such as AutoCAD or DraftSight an advantage
  • IT literate with knowledge of MS Excel
  • A technical and enquiring mind with good problem-solving abilities
  • At least 3 years' working professionally in a design or draughting based role
  • An understanding of design for manufacture using woodworking CNCs and machinery advantageous, as would designing fabricated sheet metal components
Salary and Benefits:
A salary of between £27k and £32k is on offer along with a workplace pension scheme.

As Senior Interior Architect you will be working mainly with their private clients leading the design on forthcoming projects. They are seeking somebody with expertise in high-end residential development who would be responsible for projects from concept / planning stages through to completion. Projects would cover all aspects of interior architecture and specification including floor plans, kitchens, bathrooms, dressing areas, interior joinery, specialist wall coverings and ceilings. You will be working with clients, dealing with trades and contractors and managing all procurement for the projects including independent and pro-active sourcing of goods.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Interior Architect to join their team based in NW London.
 
The Senior Interior Architect will be working on projects from concept stage, through the detailed design stage to completion. It is a design role with the focus on key internal design areas such as spatial layouts, furniture plans, lighting and electrical plans, reflective ceiling plans, kitchens, bathrooms, tiling design and selection and specification of architectural interior items such as stairs, joinery and ironmongery.
 
 
Experience sought for the Senior Interior Architect:
  • AutoCAD fluency (Revit an advantage)
  • At least 5 years' experience to include luxury residential
  • Good spatial planning and interior detailing ability
  • Knowledge of finishes for high-end residential design
  • Confident in client-facing and leading a project from start to finish
  • Well-presented and personable, with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Own car to visit clients is preferred
Salary and Benefits:
 
Salary will be between £38k and £45k dependant on experience - with end of year performance related bonus. There is also a staff discount scheme and Company Pension, 23 days holiday plus public holidays.

Furniture Technician / Draughtsperson - Norfolk / Remote - up to £40,000 (V04020)

Their large purpose-built manufacturing complex is home to traditional cabinet making, veneering, carving and gilding skills, complemented by modern design, manufacturing and finishing techniques.
 
Projects include dressing rooms, staircases and libraries, cinemas, wine rooms and games rooms and they are currently looking for an experienced Furniture Technician to join this team. Depending on level of experience they are also open to remote working with occasional visits to the office.
 
The main responsibilities for the Furniture Technician will include to:
  • Develop the client brief into technical and production drawings and renders
  • Ensure the product is engineered and designed for manufacture and assembly
  • Ensure drawing accuracy and presentation meets the required standard
  • Ensure drawings are published on time and drawing approvals are pursued to program
  • Survey and template site work as required and undertake pre installation checks
  • Review works in progress and prior to delivery for quality and conformance to drawings
 
Skills and Experience sought for the Furniture Technician role:
  • Skilled in 3D CAD using SolidWorks
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a wood based environment - Joinery, shop fitting or cabinet making
  • CNC and or cabinet making experience would be beneficial

They are currently seeking a Furniture Production Controller who will be coordinating and controlling the flow of work and information between departments, from design through to manufacturing and workshop production conclusion. The ideal candidate will have an appreciation of the expectations of high-end, wealthy clients.
 
This also involves: Taking the design brief and communicating to the CAD external team; Determining Bill of Material (BoM) requirements and availability of materials; Facilitating production order launches; Being responsible for quality and timelines of CAD design and production drawings; Performing a variety of drafting activities including preparing / updating CAD drawings for client approval and manufacturing drawings / cutting lists / BoMs for production.
They are also open to bringing on board a recent graduate and train them up.
 
Skills and experience for the Furniture Production Controller:
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications and effectively communicate the requirements to a production team 
  • Understanding of cabinet making and a good knowledge of timber products, glass, metal, stone and fabrics
  • Proficient with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD draughting

Product Design Engineer - Buckinghamshire - up to £30,000 (V04018)

Well-known for creating finely detailed and high-quality commercial furniture for the workplace, our client is currently seeking a Product Design Engineer to work on a variety of prestigious and challenging projects. The role will require close communication with both the design and production team so you will be working mainly in the office although there is the possibility for some flexibility.
 
The successful applicant will be responsible for working on all the engineering aspects of standard and bespoke products for customer approval and manufacture. This will involve the generation of CAD models, production drawings, manufacturing detailing for the CNC machines and helping to refine value engineering and new solutions to the drawing and production process.
 
This role will evolve around the individual’s strengths and skills with opportunities down the line to be involved in design, presentation and visualisation work if of interest.
 
Skills and experience needed for the Product Design Engineer:
  • At least 1 year of experience from the furniture, product or industrial engineering sectors
  • Strong drawing and technical detailing skills
  • SolidWorks is essential, AutoCAD and 3D Studio an advantage but not a necessity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of initiative and organisational ability would be expected with good problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of CNC machining would be useful
