Junior Showroom Designer - North East England - up to £22,000 (V04074)

Our client, as part of a larger group in the KBB sector, specialises in the distribution of design-led, commercially relevant kitchen components for B2B trade partners sold through multiple sales channels and brands. Product development, innovation, and exceptional customer service, continue to be the driving force behind the business.
 
They currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic interior or kitchen designer to join their in-house design team and assist in delivering stunning showroom design solutions for its large and diverse trade customers.
 
The briefs vary from individual kitchen designs to multiple kitchen displays, as well as the development of the company’s own market-leading design centres. You will be producing 3D designs and visuals to demonstrate the design, 2D technical drawings and product breakdowns for order placement and production.
 
Skills and experience needed from the Showroom Designer:
  • 1 - 3 years’ kitchen design experience or a recent design graduate
  • Knowledge of kitchen planning software such as Compusoft Winner, EQ, ArtiCAD, Fusion 2020 or Virtual Worlds
  • Passion for design and impeccable eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork and proactiveness
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Full driving licence
  • AutoCAD or SketchUp would be an advantage but not a necessity
 
Salary:  c£22k plus company pension and life assurance.

Their large purpose-built manufacturing complex is home to traditional cabinet making, veneering, carving and gilding skills, complemented by modern design, manufacturing and finishing techniques. Projects include dressing rooms, staircases and libraries, cinemas, wine rooms and games rooms.
 
Due to continued expansion they are seeking a full time, experienced Design Engineer. An individual who is able to draw on their experience in the furniture and joinery industry to support and steer the design phase of a project and to engineer work which is fit for manufacture, assembly and installation.

Skills and Experience sought for the Furniture Design Engineer role:
  • Excellent design and communication skills in order to capably discuss and establish design principles from a client’s brief
  • A good working knowledge of furniture and joinery constructional methods, manufacturing processes and the use of timber and associated materials
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a project team and contribute to best practice
  • Self-motivated, flexible and proactive
  • Attention to detail and precision in the work produced

Joinery Production Engineer - Somerset - negotiable (V04073)

Our client specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of fine fitted furniture and architectural joinery. Much of their work is installed into period country houses, many of which are listed and therefore of local, regional, and national interest. Therefore, it is important that the detailing of this type of work is designed respecting the interior architecture of the building.
 
They currently have an opening for a Production Engineer to be responsible for taking 2D design drawings and a brief into a fully worked up 3D Inventor model with every detail resolved. You will then prepare and issue manufacturing drawings to the makers and remain responsible for the technical aspects of the project through to installation. You will also be assisting with the programming of the carcass parts for the CNC, all within the budgeted hours.
 
Skills and Experience required for the role of Joinery Production Engineer:
  • Ideally proficient in Inventor, AutoCAD and FusionCAM or InventorCAM. If you are missing one of the above, then you will still be considered
  • You'll have come from a cabinetmaking background and/or have a good understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, materials selection and presentation
  • You'll have the ability to work from drawings and specification sheets
  • Knowledge of timber, wood veneers, wood finishes and finishing techniques, cabinetmaking and joinery will be needed
  • Knowledge of period architectural styles, building techniques, mouldings and geometry will be an advantage
  • An understanding of mechanical and electrical services required to be connected to fitted furniture, kitchens and bathrooms

Skills and Experience sought for the Senior FF&E Designer:

They have established a world-wide reputation as makers of high-quality bespoke furniture, cabinetry and specialist joinery and work closely with world renowned designers and architects as well as directly with private clients.
 
They are currently looking for an experienced furniture maker who is also proficient in 2D and 3D CAD Design. As Furniture Production Controller you will be coordinating and controlling the flow of work and information from design through manufacturing to completion and final delivery. You will be responsible for the quality and timeliness of the CAD Design and production drawings.
 
Duties of this role include:
  • Receiving the initial design brief to create the job specification and producing any drawings required at quotation stage
  • Managing the CAD team
  • Responsible for the production of drawings, samples, BOMs and cutting lists
  • Working closely with the whole team to ensure a seamless fulfilment of client orders
  • Preparing an accurate onsite installation pack for the installation team
  • Fully understanding the objectives and scope of each project, including timescales, verification of design and budget control
  
Skills and experience for the Furniture Production Controller:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a high-end cabinet making or specialist joinery role 
  • Understanding of a variety of manufacturing methods and the use of timber products, glass, metal, stone and fabrics
  • Experience of and familiarity with SolidWorks or AutoCAD draughting and 3D modelling tools
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications and to effectively communicate the requirements to the production team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and solution focused
  • Pro-active and self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong planning, organisational and IT skills
Salary:
