This well established and growing interior design, showhome and flooring business have an experienced team of highly creative design professionals dedicated to creating impactful designs. They have invested in a first class fabric library, utilise the latest design software, have a soft furnishing production facility and can design and print bespoke wallpaper and produce high quality custom wall art. They also design and commission bespoke furniture for their clients. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced designer, ideally with a fairly contemporary style. You will be working on your own projects from brief through to presentation and installation and will need good client facing skills.

With at least 4 years’ experience from within the showhome / residential design industry and excellent drawing and presentation skills you should be IT literate, knowledge of Adobe packages would be an advantage. Good communication skills are also required as is good project management skills.

They are currently looking for an experienced person in a business development role to help drive new growth and win exciting new projects in Europe, America and the Middle and Far East.

Responsibilities

Working with our client’s existing sales and senior management team, you will be responsible for developing business through new contacts. Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • hitting challenging sales targets
  • identifying potential clients, and the decision-makers within the client organisations in areas previously untapped
  • building meaningful and lasting client relationships based upon an understanding of their needs for bespoke furniture and the ability to anticipate and meet those needs
  • help to develop a sales strategy with the sales team across the global network for future growth
  • represent the company at international events
  • work with the marketing department to develop stimulating sales materials
  • managing the supply chain and pre-order processes of samples to ensure samples are delivered to clients on time
  • monitor sales performance and report regularly at a senior level
  • an ability to travel at short notice and work evenings and weekends when necessary to meet the needs of their clients

Required experience and qualifications

The ideal candidate will have international business development experience with a background in bespoke furniture design/making or luxury interior products in an international role. Knowledge of design, wood and associated materials would be an advantage together with competence in InDesign, Photoshop and Excel.

You will have excellent communication, presentation and networking skills as this role requires someone with the ability to develop relationships across multiple cultural environments. You will understand and have worked/circulated in the world of their key clients who sit at the very top of the luxury market.

The ideal candidate will be qualified, self-motivated, proactive and ambitious with a proven track record in the commercial interior design arena. You will have previous experience of residential / office / healthcare / hospitality / leisure design and will be proficient in using AutoCAD and 3D rendering packages as well as the MS Office suite.

The right candidate should be commercially astute with extensive product and supply knowledge. You must also have experience in leading and managing multiple middle-sized to large design projects simultaneously from writing the proposal to pitching for projects and producing design concepts, space plans, budget proposals and product specifications through to project installation and completion.

Our client is one if the UK's leading furniture import companies, specialising in high quality furniture for the middle market supplying containers of furniture direct from China to a variety of UK retailers. 

A new role has arisen for a Furniture Designer / Buyer reporting to the Owner MD and key responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding market and retailer trends and creating new designs that reflect the needs of the retailer and consumer.
  • Modifying existing ranges / value engineering products to ensure a competitive edge in the market.

The position is based in the Rugby Office however the successful candidate must be prepared to travel to Europe and the Far East on a regular basis.

Experience of furniture design covering wood, metal and fabric is essential as is understanding and interpreting the needs of the consumer and retailer and putting those into practical and commercial furniture solutions. Working closely with factories (currently in China) the individual must have a clear understanding of bills of materials to include labour and parts.

The designer will naturally be up to date with trends, designs and styles of the furniture market. Experience of Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk vault or a comparable 3D modelling software as well as Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Word will also be required. The person should be comfortable and able to communicate and present ideas and proposals internally and externally to independent and major retailers.

They are a project engineering based company that have evolved from a furniture consultancy, design and life cycle background. Based in West Yorkshire they are seeking an FF&E Designer to design and plan the layouts, specify and procure all FF&E elements. There might also be some design involved for fitted and loose furniture.

With 2+ years’ experience of space planning using AutoCAD, Solidworks for the creation of 3D models and furniture design, would be useful but not essential. Organised and able to handle suppliers and arrange orders, experience of working in a similar environment or with contractors would be a bonus.

They are currently seeking an experienced CAD technician who can produce 2D and 3D layout and visuals. This award winning kitchen design and manufacturing company has a showroom in West London and a workshop and another showroom in South West London. They are currently seeking an experienced CAD technician who can produce detailed workshop drawings. This role plays a vital part in their company working with both their kitchen designers and their cabinet makers. Although this role will be based at the workshop, you should be happy to travel to the showrooms from time to time so will need a driving licence. The main duties are to convert completed kitchen designs into detailed workshop drawings, providing panel by panel information for ordering and manufacturing purposes, prepare Samples for the Designers client approval meeting and look for new opportunities to improve processes.

You should have at least 2 years’ UK experience working as a CAD technician in a joinery workshop, be fluent in English and able to work as part of a team and on your own. An ability to see any problems and advise of suitable changes/options will be invaluable.

You will need at least 5 years’ relevant experience and be fluent in AutoCAD. An understanding of furniture construction would be an advantage as would knowledge of 3D programs, but not essential.
