Due to a steady increase in demand they are seeking an experienced Product Designer who understands the reproduction of 2D designs on a 3D surface.  Duties include creating original designs, interpreting designs and images from clients, modifying and updating established designs and prints. Also producing technical drawings, visuals and 3D drawings, interacting with clients and seeing projects through to production.

Person / Experience Required:

Our client is a busy Interior Design Consultancy looking to expand by taking on an experienced Showhome Designer. Working with independent builders and national builders you will be producing showhouses across the country.

Key day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Developing initial ideas and acquiring key information about potential projects, discussing requirements in detail with clients and setting project schedules
  • Sourcing and specifying products and materials according to set budgets
  • Researching and gathering information relating to the project
  • Producing comprehensive mood boards for presentation to clients
  • Having responsibility for multiple projects from design through to installation and styling
  • Preparing detailed working drawings, designs, plans and schemes
  • Supervising work at the design stage and on site
  • Keeping up to date with new developments and design trends within the industry
  • Working closely with the Design Director to create design concepts

Key Attributes:

  • A creative and imaginative designer with a minimum of one years' interior design experience
  • Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Excel and Word
  • A full, clean driving licence
  • An eye for design and colour with good 3D and spatial awareness
  • The ability to visualise concepts and explain them to others
  • Strong organisational skills, to ensure each project is completed on time and within budget
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

They work with architects, interior designers, project managers, quantity surveyors and private clients who demand the highest quality and specification. They are now seeking a Production Designer who understands furniture construction and is comfortable in working within the high end residential market. The role is to be catalyst to getting the design and development into production.

You will be the co-ordinator of each element of the project which can vary greatly so you will be an excellent communicator being the interface between the project manager and all suppliers, manufacturers and sub-contract teams. The role involves preparing each element of the project for manufacture and will involve regular trips to sub-contract teams around the UK.

Person / Experience Required:

  • A cabinet making background is essential

  • CAD literate with good drawing capabilities for manufacture
  • Ideally experience of procurement and handling suppliers
