Our client is an award-winning, growing company with craft at the core of their designs. Each kitchen and piece of fitted furniture is hand-made to order using traditional joinery techniques and the finest materials, ensuring it is built to last a lifetime.

They have created a new role with the potential for the position to develop into so much more for the right person. You will be involved in the finer details of furniture manufacture, procurement and installation so this would suit an individual with strong knowledge of joinery and the construction of furniture.

This role will be WFH but you should be based in Yorkshire close enough to travel regularly into Harrogate.

Your work will involve:

  • Using AutoCAD for technical drawings and design work
  • Facilitating the development of sign-off, setting out, procurement and production of furniture, including cabinetry, metal elements, stone elements and other custom materials and features
  • Mechanical and electrical drawings and installation drawings to aid site trades
  • Liaising with the design team and project managers
  • Working with private clients, architects, developers and interior designers
  • Occasional travel to the showroom / studio in London and often to project sites, in order to attend meetings and to carry out site surveys and checks

Skills and Experience needed for the Furniture Designer:

  • A good understanding of high-end custom furniture
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
  • Fluent in AutoCAD
  • Experience in 3D work and 3D visualisation is a bonus but not essential
  • A proactive person with a 'self-starter' attitude
  • Own car and Driving Licence

They use wood to shape the character and function of rooms into distinctive and beautifully liveable spaces, every piece is completely bespoke, and their 12,000sq ft modern workshop houses a dedicated team of cabinetmakers and finishers.
 
They are currently seeking a Project Manager whose core responsibility is to profitably deliver projects from commissioning to completion, on time, to specification and always exceeding their clients’ high expectations. It will involve both UK and International travel.
 
 
The Project Manager should be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Leadership skills and self-motivation
  • At least 5 years in a project management role
  • Experience in presenting to and negotiating with clients
  • Fully able to deliver high-end and complex building and joinery works
  • A detailed understanding of building and timber technology, M&E / HVAC systems
  • Numerate and with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident working with contractors, consultants, professional and technical staff
  • Enthusiasm and positivity, with the ability to solve complex and challenging problems

Duties and Responsibilities for the Design and Cost Estimator Assistant include:

The role combines design and technical skills with the ability to organise workload efficiently to facilitate the smooth running of the projects. You will be preparing drawings, presentations and quotations as well as managing live projects from design to completion, working both in the office and on site.
 
Duties and responsibilities for the Design and Project Coordinator will include:
  • Preparation of design proposals, preparation of technical prints, visuals and presentations
  • Preparation of drawings and assisting with costings and quotations
  • Liaising with architects, suppliers and contractors
  • Assisting with producing technical information and the presentation material to win the contracts and subsequently to manage the project

  • Knowledge of both kitchens and wardrobes
  • Strong project and time-management skills
  • Good presentation skills and ability to understand a brief and to explain and present ideas
  • Accuracy and attention to detail when finalising prints and designs
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD  is essential for space planning and joinery detailing
  • Experience in preparing quotations
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials, and methods of surveying and inspection

Our client is an international furniture company with two London showrooms providing clients the ideal furniture, furnishings and interiors for their projects.
 
As a Project Coordinator for the Retail team, you will need to track after sales work for completion and identify any potential risks. You will need to facilitate and support the needs of Sales Designers by assisting with the administrative processes. Ultimately, you are responsible for completing the project in line with the plans and will often report progress to designer or senior managers.
 
Main Duties for the Retail Project Coordinator include to: 
  • Be responsible for retail projects and maintain contact with the client
  • Assist the team with Kitchen and System drawings using CAD when required
  • Maintain, manage and improve procedural documentation
  • Coordinate all project team members so workflow remains on schedule

Skills and Experience needed for the Retail Project Coordinator role:
  • Good project and time management skills
  • Ability to cope with several projects at any given time and to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Previous experience as a Project Coordinator within the Interior Design marketplace
  • A good understanding of the Retail industry
  • Knowledge of kitchen appliances / worktops / lighting and be able to coordinate with suppliers
  • PC literate and proficient in VectorWorks and / or AutoCAD and other relevant drawing packages
  • Excellent communication skills and analytical thinking

Their client list includes international interior designers, decorators and architects and are currently recruiting for an 18-month Maternity Cover Design Manager position to work closely with the Co-Founder and Creative Director.
 
This is a key connector role to ensure that all new and current designs are achieving key strategic objectives. Responsibilities will include prototyping new designs and materials to assess their suitability and performance and delivering full training information to the manufacturing and sales team. Presentation and research for photoshoots will also be required. This role must have a primary focus on their sustainability credentials to ensure they are working hard to achieve the company objectives set out within their sustainability context document.

Our client is a small and dynamic architectural interior design practice producing diverse residential interiors and select, small-scale commercial projects.
 
They are currently recruiting for either a CAD Technician or mid-weight Architectural Interior Designer that can, for the next 6 months, offer drawing support to the designers. They are open to a contract or permanent placement hybrid or full-time in the office.
 
Your key responsibilities will include to:
  • Accurately update and issue specification changes to the Client & Contractor. Prepare information in response to client, supplier and contractor requests.
  • Ensure studio standards are executed with all design documentation issued.
  • Coordination of MEP and services.
  • Check all specification against layout plans to ensure accurate dimensions & quantities prior to ordering.
  • Attend regular site and supplier visits to track progress, with follow-up and feedback.
 
As the role evolves, further responsibilities, depending on the individual, could include to:
  • Take responsibility for managing the design process for several of our residential interior projects from concept to installation.
  • Oversee junior designers and lead preparation of design concepts and visions through imagery and sketches that reflect the project budget / constraints and communicate ideas effectively to client and consultants.
  • Manage selection of product, budgeting, scheduling and of FF&E products for the interior finishes of multiple projects.
  • Manage project programs and deadlines.
  • Coordination and collaboration with the Procurement Manager and FF&E procurement.
  • Full management of dressing and installation phase, client handover and snagging.
Skills and experience needed from the CAD Technician or Architectural Interior Designer:
  • Prior experience working on residential projects
  • Fluent in AutoCAD, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Knowledge of Rhino would be an advantage, but training can be given
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • Highly motivated and proactive
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in liaising with contractors
  • Full UK driving licence and ideally, access to a vehicle

This young and vibrant Interior Design Consultancy work with both private high-end residential and commercial clients, offering a bespoke service covering interior architecture, design, styling and furnishing.
 
Increasingly busy with lots of exciting new projects starting they are looking for a additional Interior Designers to join their team.  Both will be at a mid-weight level; one is for a Technical Designer and requires strong detailing skills and VectorWorks fluency, the other is for an all-round Designer able to handle suppliers and clients.
 
The Technical Designer will be responsible for creating joinery packages, lighting and general arrangement plans and detailed layouts. You will also be carrying out site surveys and coordinating parts of the project design process. For the Interior Designer role you will be working as part of the team on projects from concept to completion. Both role have the potential to grow and expand into other areas of responsibility.
 
 
Skills and Experience needed for the Interior Designer:
  • Strong VectorWorks proficiency - essential for the technical role, ideally but not essential for the design led role
  • Interior Design or Interior Architecture qualification
  • Good communication and organisation skills
  • Budgeting and procurement knowledge would be useful
  • A team player but also self-motivated and proactive
  • Driving license
 
Although they are based near a train station, they would prefer the candidate to have their own car for the occasional visit to clients, suppliers and their warehouse.
