You will be developing products from concept through to approval in accordance with relevant regulations and standards suitable for this territory. This will involve working with the Product Engineering Manager to ensure products are engineered to meet their sustainability principles, supporting the team, working within the given timelines needed to meet customer expectations and seasonal launches. Regular communication with Supplier Liaison Managers is essential within the development of any new product. Everyone in the team and company is encouraged to share their ideas.

They are open to considering either a junior or a mid-weight design engineer.

• 1+ years' experience working as a Product Design Engineer.
• Ability to produce engineering drawings to IEC standards.
• Knowledge and experience of various manufacturing processes suitable for mass production.
• SolidWorks literate.
• Knowledge and basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator for instructions and illustrations.
• Able and comfortable with taking ownership of projects assigned.
• Open to giving and taking constructive feedback.
• Creative engineering flair.

You will be developing products requested by their Hospitality and Sales Team in accordance with relevant regulations and standards suitable for this territory. This will involve supporting the team in developing within the given timelines needed to meet customer expectations and seasonal launches. Also ensuring products are engineered to meet the Company’s engineering and sustainability principles.

You must be able to work effectively within a team, alongside and assisting team members where needed. Regular communication with Supplier Liaison Managers is essential within the development of any new product. Everyone is encouraged to share their ideas.

Key responsibilities are to:

• Create product submission packs and complete sample evaluation reports.
• Prepare prototype samples using standard model making and 3D printing technology.
• Produce engineering drawings and product specifications for quotation, manufacturing and QA purposes.
• Create and maintain BIM files for products within the development process.
• Liaise with manufacturers during the development and production process.
• Produce installation instructions and product labels.
• Carry out basic in-house product testing.

This well-established Kitchen Showroom specialise in creating bespoke kitchen, bathroom and bedroom interiors. They have been awarded “Best of Houzz” for exceptional Service and Design year on year and have an enviable staff retention record.

They are now looking to recruit a Kitchen Designer with creative flair to help take their business forward. The ideal candidate will be competent using Winner Design software, with experience of designing and ordering Kitchen and Bedroom furniture. They work with several German and UK manufacturers and also offer bespoke-made British furniture.

They work normal business hours from their showroom and you will be expected to work two Saturdays per month and be willing to visit properties to conduct surveys and take dimensions.

This would be a great opportunity for an individual with a proven background in design who is looking to operate in the upper end of the market. 80% of their business is local with a strong referral rate.

Skills and experience for the Kitchen Designer role:

• Between 2 and 4 years’ experience working as a Kitchen Designer or an interior designer within the residential marketplace.
• A flair for design, an eye for detail and a creative approach to selling.
• The ability to generate innovative design ideas with attention to detail.
• An ongoing interest in design and a desire to keep up with new interior / designer trends.

Salary for the Kitchen Designer will be £25k to £30k plus bonus.
