Well-known for creating finely detailed commercial furniture for the workplace, our client are currently seeking a Product Designer to work on a variety of prestigious and challenging projects as part of their internal design team. The role will require close communication with the client, design and production team so you will be working mainly in the office with the occasional need to travel for site surveys. 

The role is full-time with flexible start and end times offered and the possibility to work I day per week at home.

The successful applicant will be responsible for taking ownership of projects working on front end concept drawings and renders through to elevations, GA’s and production ready drawings for the workshop and  CNC machines. Also helping to refine value engineering and new solutions to the drawing and production process.

They are hoping to find someone with a balance between the creative and production / technical design. Less of a ‘Design Engineer’ behind the scenes with a leaning toward joinery, furniture and woodwork.


Skills and experience needed for the Product Designer:

  • Ideally at least 3 years’ experience from the furniture manufacturing sector
  • Strong drawing and technical detailing skills
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • SolidWorks is essential, AutoCAD and Adobe CS an advantage but not a necessity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

They specialise in designing, manufacturing, and installing high-quality bespoke interiors for both residential and commercial projects. Over the years they have built a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail and a customer-focused approach, working with high-net-worth clients and renowned interior designers, architects, and builders.

They are currently looking for an experienced Estimator to be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of projects, ensuring their designs and manufacturing processes meet budget expectations while maintaining the quality the company is known for. The successful candidate will be working closely with the designers and project managers to provide timely and precise costings for a range of bespoke furniture and architectural joinery projects.

Key Responsibilities include to:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for bespoke furniture and joinery projects, including materials, labour, and overhead costs.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender submissions for larger projects.
  • Monitor project costs and ensure that they stay within budget. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, products, and materials.
  • Track and analyse actual costs against estimates to identify any variances and inform future estimation processes.
  • Provide regular reports on project costings, budget progress and any issues that may affect profitability.


Skills and Experience needed for the role of Estimator:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the building, furniture and joinery industries.
  • Excellent understanding of cost breakdowns, material costs, labour estimates and project budgeting.
  • Familiarity with estimating software and spreadsheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage with both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Problem-solving ability and the capacity to find cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.


This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm. They are open to the candidate working from their London or Cheshire locations with the possibility of a hybrid arrangement. In return they can offer:
£45,000 - £55,000 per year plus company pension and private medical and dental insurance. Company events and cycle to work scheme.

As Assistant Workshop Manager your main responsibility will be to support in all aspects of production build, general workshop responsibilities and on-site work as required. This is a hands-on role with tasks which could include: prop making, CAD drawing, carpentry, metalworking, head rigger, spray painting, scenic finishes, paint management, general production build, CAD interpretation, CNC & Laser cutter operation, vinyling, installation crewing, lead carpenter, sanding, filling & finishing.

The role includes development of practical skills including scenic, LX, sound and electronics and working in line with the Company sustainability policy, ensuring minimising wastage and organising off cuts of production material for use on subsequent jobs. Health & Safety compliance is essential as is quality control for all projects.


Skills and Experience needed from the Assistant Workshop Manager:

  • Carpentry & construction to include set build and props, scenic and paint knowledge, spray painting, fibreglassing and sewing
  • Good time keeping and communication skills, and be able to work with an adaptable, flexible and accommodating attitude
  • Proactive with an enthusiastic, self-motivated and positive disposition and must be able to work well as part of a team

Their large purpose-built manufacturing complex is home to traditional cabinet making, veneering, carving and gilding skills, complemented by modern design, manufacturing and finishing techniques. They are seeking a full time, experienced Design Engineer and also a Furniture Draughtsperson. For both roles they are looking for individuals who are able to draw on their experience in the furniture and joinery industry to support and steer the design and technical phases of projects and to engineer work which is fit for manufacture, assembly and installation. The distinction between the roles being that the Draughtsperson will be mainly producing the technical drawings and the Design Engineer will be working with the draughting team to review and refine design intent and engineer for efficient manufacture.


Skills and Experience sought for the Furniture Design Engineer and Draughtsperson roles:

  • Excellent communication skills in order to capably discuss and establish design principles from a client’s brief
  • A good working knowledge of furniture and joinery constructional methods, and manufacturing processes
  • Self-motivated, flexible and proactive
  • Attention to detail and precision in the work produced
  • Strong problem-solving, time management and planning skills
