Based just North of Manchester and with exciting new product lines in the pipeline, the company is now seeking a Product Designer to join its product development team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in product development, learn from experienced engineers, and be part of a company that values innovation, quality, and long-term thinking.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Product Design & Development Engineer, you’ll be involved in every stage of new product development, including:

  • Market research and competitor benchmarking
  • Liaising with suppliers to source new components
  • Supporting prototype manufacture and assembly
  • Testing and refining prototypes for production
  • Providing input and support throughout the product lifecycle

Initially, you’ll assist with ongoing projects, but as your experience grows, so too will your opportunities - including the chance to take the lead on new product design from concept to completion.

Skills and Experience sought from the Product Designer:

  • 1-3 years’ experience (including work placements)
  • Background in product design within a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with metal fabrication and prototyping is a bonus
  • Proficient in CAD - SolidWorks preferred

Our client is a globally respected designer and manufacturer of innovative furniture solutions for high-tech and office environments. With origins in the trading, command and control room sectors, they have evolved into a recognised supplier of stylish and functional workstations for modern offices - and they’re looking for a talented Product Designer to join their team.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Sales, Project Management and Installation teams, taking projects from initial brief right through to on-site installation. You’ll be part of a collaborative, skilled Design Team, producing all necessary design and technical documentation, and supporting Project Managers to ensure smooth project delivery. This is an on-site based role.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, and colleagues to ensure project success
  • Producing high-quality designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Working methodically to manage project workflows and deadlines
  • Carrying out quality control checks and attending snagging meetings

Skills and Experience expected from the Product Designer:

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience as a Product Designer
  • Organised, methodical, and detail-oriented approach to projects
  • Knowledge (and ideally experience) of creating BoM drawings
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (Keyshot or other rendering software is a plus)

They are currently seeking a Handbag Designer for a 12-month Maternity Cover who will be part of the Womenswear Non-Clothing team. They are always looking to push the boundaries of design within this category and across multi-fabrications and you will be working alongside the Buyers, Merchandisers and Product Technologists closely with a keen eye for pricing and elevated design. Experience within bag design is a must for this position.

Creative and approachable with clear presentation skills, you will drive the design within the bags area keeping on top of advanced trends, using your knowledge of brands within this category and looking to push the design direction for the company.

You will be situated within their amazing Design Studio, over-looking the lake in the central part of their Head Office Campus with free parking on-site, including car sharing and a free company bus service to and from Leicester city centre and other areas. Their range of services cover everything from exhibition stands, product launches and bespoke sampling stands to PR stunts, sampling bins and giant props.
 
Based near the borders of Essex and Hertfordshire, within easy reach of London, they currently have a vacancy to work within their production team. This is a hands-on role with tasks which could include: CAD drawing, carpentry, metalworking, head rigger, spray painting, scenic finishes, paint management, general production build, CAD interpretation, CNC & Laser cutter operation, vinyling, prop making, installation crewing, lead carpenter, sanding, filling & finishing.
 
The role includes development of practical skills including scenic, LX, sound and electronics and working in line with the Company sustainability policy, ensuring minimising wastage and organise off cuts of production material for use on subsequent jobs. Health & Safety compliance is essential as is quality control for all projects.
 
This position is based on set hours per week as there needs to be some flexibility as this industry often needs you to work different hours on-site dependant on the project. Salary will be £28k pa based on 40 hours per week plus BUPA and pension.
 
Skills and Experience needed from the Production Team / Assistant Workshop Manager:
  • Scenic and paint knowledge, carpentry and construction skills would be useful
  • Good time keeping and communication skills, and be able to work with an adaptable, flexible and accommodating attitude
  • Proactive with an enthusiastic, self-motivated and positive disposition and must be able to work well as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills along with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • IT competent, ideally able to use AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of CNC and Laser cutting would be useful
  • Driving licence
