A great full time opportunity has arisen for a CAD Setting Out Draughtsperson to work on bespoke joinery projects.

At Chamber Furniture, we combine the finest materials with outstanding craftsmanship, and a host of clever details and features for all our fitted furniture and joinery throughout the home.

Due to a steady increase in business we require an experienced person to produce Setting Out Drawings and Production Cutting Lists for the manufacturing of bespoke high end joinery including Kitchens, Bedrooms, Studies and Wine Rooms.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Joinery Fitter, have had experience working as a Bench Joiner and/or have experience producing Setting Out Drawings and creating Cutting Lists. You will need to be computer literate and familiar with CAD packages. Full training will be provided for the right candidate which may include a period of working alongside our current installers and bench joiners as required.

Working as part of a Drawing Office team and Furniture Designers the CAD Setting Out Draughtsperson will be based at our Factory and Showroom in Halstead, Kent.

Our client manufactures a world class product, which they sell successfully in the UK and the US and increasingly, worldwide.

Due to a large increase in business this year they are seeking an additional Product Designer to join the Product Development team. You will be primary responsible for creating puzzle cut designs using CAD, art working using Adobe Creative Suite and assisting in the NPD process. They will also consider working partly in the office and partly from home remotely.

Additional responsibilities for the Product Designer include:

  • Assisting with product testing and quality control
  • Creatively working to specifications and briefs
  • Working closely with other teams to ensure a high-quality final product
  • Providing quality control over own work
  • Managing the complete product design lifecycle from brainstorming and concept development to project management and production

The competencies needed to perform the role of Product Designer successfully include:

  • Knowledge of working on both PC and Mac

Working hours: 9am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday.

Due to their location you will need your own car in order to get to work and there is free onsite parking.

Based centrally in London they have a production and technical design studio on site and are seeking an experienced individual with strong knowledge of furniture construction. This is an exciting opportunity to join a flourishing Nottingham based company specialising in the design, manufacture and retail of furniture, lighting and interior accessories.

Freelance, part time or full time employment is available depending upon the situation and availability of the individual. You must have extensive knowledge of cabinet furniture and/or upholstery design (including an understanding of frame construction and foam specifications). Experience of lighting design would be beneficial but is not essential.

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified with substantial experience of designing and developing furniture for an established furniture retailer. A sound knowledge of the history of design and a keen eye for emerging trends is central to this role, as is having a broad awareness of the international Interior Product marketplace.

The role will include:

  • Research and concept development
  • Design visualisation and presentation
  • Technical drawing and product development
  • Liaising with factories to develop designs into prototypes
  • Approving samples prior to final production

This is a fast paced environment, therefore the ability to deliver appropriate, original designs within tight deadlines is essential.

We are looking for a creative designer with a strong work ethic. Someone who is open minded with good organisational and problem solving skills. Also a positive hands on approach with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Very good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications will be needed. Also a good working knowledge of SketchUp, Fusion 360, Solid Works, AutoCAD or similar packages in order to create technical drawings and product visualisations. Good hand drawing skills would be useful but is not essential.

Occasional overseas travel will be expected. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Our client is an innovative gallery of original and unique contemporary furniture design and products and are currently seeking a Production Coordinator with technical and design knowledge of furniture construction and production methods.

You will also be overseeing gallery maintenance, responsible for conducting daily walkthroughs of the Gallery space and hanging artworks when required.

Other duties for the Production Coordinator include to:

  • Plan production schedules, monitor the production processes and control the quality standards
  • Interpret sketches and drawings, ideally able to produce CAD drawings in Rhino when required
  • Prepare shipping samples and organise international and domestic transport and delivery of furniture and sculptures
  • Liaise with different departments, teams and companies
  • Carry out condition checks and quality control of completed products so that are ready for final sign-off
  • Give design input when required

Skills and experience needed for the Production Coordinator's role:

  • Ability to interpret sketches and drawings
  • Ability to multitask and project manage the production of luxury sculptural / artistic furniture and products
  • Strong planning and organisational skills

They are currently recruiting for a Production Controller to regulate and control the various operations of the production process in such a way, that an orderly flow of materials is ensured at the different stages of production and items are effortlessly produced of the right quality, in the right quantity and at the right time.

The main aim of this role is to liaise with key people in production to ensure a seamless flow of product through operations and to monitor the times taken to ensure these are reflective of those used in planning and estimation. You will also be jointly responsible for checking orders in production are meeting the customers’ expectations, finished on time and meet the quality requirements of the customer and the company.

It is important that you are comfortable operating and supervising in the workshop which can be noisy at times!

We work alongside national and regional builders, property developers and private clients. Our team design, project manage and install show homes, marketing suites, retirement homes and private residential projects.

You should already have residential experience and also ideally have a background in or knowledge of show home design.

Skills / Experience
