This family-run business has been working within the kitchen marketplace for many years and over the last couple of years has been refurbishing all of their Midlands based showrooms to a very high standard.

Due to natural growth and an increase in business again, they are seeking an additional Kitchen Designer. The role will allow flexibility with some home working and although all the leads will be provided, you must be able to and be prepared to drive to visit customers' homes.

Person / Experience Required:

  • Strong and proven track record with at least 3 years' kitchen design and sales experience
  • Able to work to strict deadlines and targets
  • A natural flair for design, presentation and customer service
  • Good IT skills and CAD literate (they use Compusoft Winner and EQ)
  • A confident, enthusiastic and self-motivated designer with a positive work ethic
  • Full driving licence essential

Our client designs and makes bespoke furniture, antiqued mirror and creates specialist finishes for leading interior designers, architects and private clients all over the world.

They have recently closed the London workshop and moved the specialist finishing up to their main workshop and business in Shropshire. This has resulted in a vacancy for a skilled specialist finisher with a wealth of practical experience to join and potentially oversee the existing team there. The right candidate will help the company expand this side of the business and should be self-motivated, responsible and happy to be part of a wider team, sharing and learning new skills.

Skills Required:

  • Gilding, Verre Eglomisé
  • French polishing, painting, staining and colouring timbers
  • Spray lacquering
  • Decorative painting
  • Gesso
  • Experience in a similar cabinet making or finishing role is essential
  • A restoration background is desirable
  • You will need attention to detail and a positive attitude

This company's Italian inspired designs for bespoke bedroom and bathroom furniture and state-of-the art manufacturing facilities have earned them an enviable reputation with major UK housebuilders and the A&D community.

Based on the West Sussex and Surrey Borders they are on the hunt for two experienced CAD Technicians with a proven track record and that understand joinery and manufacturing. You will be both developing concepts for housebuilders and taking design drawings from architects / interior designers to develop them into detailed manufacturing drawings and issue them to the CNC machinist.

Person / Experience Required:

  • The successful candidates will be expected to undertake the development of bespoke furniture from concept stage through to manufacture, including material and component specifications, production of prototypes and drawings as necessary to suit the brief
  • With at least 3 years' industry experience within a similar environment
  • You will be competent in 3D software with good rendering skills an advantage
  • Cabinet Vision a preference but not essential
  • A high level of attention to detail will be expected and good technical draughting skills
  • You will possess the interpersonal skills to maintain customer-facing relationships and be able to advise them on design finishes

This is an office based role and they are ready for the candidates to start as soon as possible.

Roles and Experience Required:

This will include developing new products, reverse engineering and optimising existing products, and generating technical drawings for manufacture. You will also be required to solve design and engineering challenges and manage your time and projects in a fast-paced design environment.

Experience and Skills required for the Junior Product Designer role:

  • Educated in a relevant degree discipline such as Product Design or Design Engineering
  • Experienced user of SolidWorks or similar (Creo, NX, Fusion 360 etc.)
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and designing for production manufacture
  • A keenness to learn and develop skills and knowledge with in product design
  • Competent user of Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to organise their own time to meet project deadlines
  • The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and suppliers
  • Experience of design for manufacture and understanding of engineering concepts and materials
