We currently have an exciting opportunity for a furniture designer to join our design-led manufacturing business and contribute to the design and development of new collections for the Hospitality, Cruise and Workplace markets.

Having studied either furniture or product design you will be working alongside the product designers, prototyping and production team to develop new products from concept to production.

Experience and skills required for the Furniture Designer:

  • Experience from the furniture industry essential
  • Creative and innovative, adding value to the design process
  • CAD proficient, good knowledge of SolidWorks
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate manufacturing drawings
  • Ability to work within a team with good communication skills
  • Good practical skills and an understanding of technical detailing of products
  • Project managing and controlling progress according to set launch dates

This opportunity is for an enthusiastic and experienced Kitchen Designer to join an exciting and ambitious kitchen business in their London showroom. The company offers fantastic in-house training, essential to building a successful career with them, as well as a highly attractive commission structure and the opportunity to thrive and develop.

Based at their large and inspirational showroom you will be responsible for the end-to-end customer experience from initial design concepts, through to completion of sale, for a variety of clients. As a Kitchen Designer you should be creative with an aptitude for kitchen design coupled with a commitment to customer service. Most important is the ability to identify and interpret clients' needs and deliver true kitchen solutions.

  • Highly personable and a great communicator
  • Experience in coordinating the customer journey from concept to sale
  • Ability to liaise with consumers, trade and commercial clients on a daily basis

Based in NW London they design and produce all their own products and this is an ideal role for a creative individual with a flair for product design and a passion for luxury. You will be able to design products and see them in operation around the world working alongside a group of talented designers.

The Junior Product Designer's role will involve:

  • Developing bespoke products supported by detailed drawings
  • 3D renders and visual presentations
  • Tracking of product quality control
  • Assisting with writing email marketing campaigns
  • Contributing to social media engagement and brand awareness campaigns

Experience and Skills for the Junior Product Designer role:

  • 1 year of experience in product design

Starting salary for the Junior Product Designer (depending on experience and skill set) is in the range of £22k to £26k with 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, free lunches and pension. They also have parking available although a car is not essential to the role.

This company creates joinery pieces for some of the finest commercial interiors being designed in the UK today. Operating nationwide from their factory and offices in Berkshire they offer total management of joinery packages, from initial site survey through to installation.

They are currently seeking an additional Technical Designer to join the team and work with a comprehensive range of materials and designs for high-end companies throughout the capital. Some of their recent projects have been for Red Bull, Maclaren Motorsport, Houzz and LinkedIn.

The Joinery and Furniture Designer remit will be to:

  • Create concept designs, rendering and turning them into ready-to-manufacture technical drawings
  • Produce complete and checked technical drawings
  • Research technical details of components, materials and designs used, to ensure fit-for-purpose
  • Where possible, engineer designs to be as efficient as possible for manufacture
  • Research new solutions to technical issues
  • Participate in company and departmental discussions about improvements and innovation

Experience and skills required for the Joinery and Furniture Designer are:

  • Experience working with Solid Edge or SolidWorks 3D design software
  • Experience of producing joinery drawings with preferably hands-on knowledge in manufacturing and assembly
  • Manufacturing and pre-installation construction takes place in house, so good communication skills are required to resolve any potential design and material issues
  • Take offs for CNC milling and other outsourced material production will also be required directly from the CAD drawings, so accuracy is vital
  • Experience in the commercial interior sector is also a benefit
  • Self-confident, pro-active and a genuine interest in the sector

A good salary is on offer along with paid over-time if needed. 22 days holiday increasing by 1 day every 2 years to a maximum of 25 days. Lunch is provided by the company and there is parking space on the premises.

Marketing Assistant role:

  • Maintain and improve Social Media activity: update Pinterest, Facebook, LinkedIn with new imagery. Help to schedule interesting and unique content for Twitter and Instagram.
  • Create Blogs and Newsletters: suggest topic ideas, stories, case study features and create using Mailchimp.
  • Source Morgan case study photography and photograph factory processes.
  • Research and create mood boards with current trends, products and projects for the design and sales departments.
  • Maintain the London showroom and factory showroom to a high standard and keep internal communications and display up-to-date and visually on brand.
  • Create sales presentation documents - update regularly with new product and case study images.
  • Communicate with PR agent, research advertising opportunities and keep the press cuttings book updated.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a design graduate with a passion for design and marketing. They will be based at the Morgan headquarters in Southbourne, near Chichester. They will have good organisational skills, ability to work to deadlines and understand the requirements and importance of promoting a brand and following brand guidelines. Photoshop and Illustrator skills are required.
