The company is looking for an Assistant Product Designer to work on the design and development of new product ranges as well as the maintenance of their extensive back catalogue of products. This will include producing concept renders, reverse engineering and product design, and the generation of technical drawings for manufacture. You will also be required to solve engineering problems should they arise and comfortably manage your own time and workload in a fast-paced design environment.

The Product Designer role also includes:

  • Utilising SolidWorks for product design and the completion of detailed technical drawings for manufacture
  • The generation of 3D models and concept renders
  • Communicating manufacturing methods and technical specifications to suppliers
  • The completion of informative product documentation and instructions
  • Helping to ensure that all quality and technical product standards are met

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Educated in a relevant degree discipline such as Product Design or Design Engineering

Marketing Assistant role:

  • Maintain and improve Social Media activity: update Pinterest, Facebook, LinkedIn with new imagery. Help to schedule interesting and unique content for Twitter and Instagram.
  • Create Blogs and Newsletters: suggest topic ideas, stories, case study features and create using Mailchimp.
  • Source Morgan case study photography and photograph factory processes.
  • Research and create mood boards with current trends, products and projects for the design and sales departments.
  • Maintain the London showroom and factory showroom to a high standard and keep internal communications and display up-to-date and visually on brand.
  • Create sales presentation documents - update regularly with new product and case study images.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a design graduate with a passion for design and marketing. They will be based at the Morgan headquarters in Southbourne, near Chichester. Thanks to a growing portfolio of projects, they are looking for a self-motivated Interior Designer, who is able to work on their own initiative, to join their Design team.

With good technical and space planning skills you will be required to produce 3D & 2D plans for their interior design projects, providing a competent level of AutoCAD and BIM modelling in Revit.

Other responsibilities will be to:

  • Create and expand their library of products in AutoCAD, Revit and product books
  • Maintain schedules, dealing with space planning and amendments
  • Resolve design related problems and flag up clashes
  • Undertake training as you work
  • Produce product presentations and marketing material

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 year's experience working with Revit and AutoCAD

Operating nationwide from their factory and offices just outside London, they offer total management of joinery packages, from initial site survey through to installation.

They are currently seeking an experienced Technical Designer to work with their progressive team of designers and makers.

Objectives / Requirements:

  • Creating concept designs, rendering in KeyShot and turning them into ready-to-manufacture technical drawings for the in-house joinery workshop
  • Producing complete and checked technical drawings using Solid Edge 3D design software (Fluency in SolidWorks will be considered)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Accuracy in take offs for CNC milling and other outsourced material production will also be required directly from the CAD drawings
  • Connecting with joiners to discuss and get feedback on the practicality of joinery items designed, so hands-on experience from the joinery sector is needed and hands-on knowledge of manufacturing and assembling would be desirable
  • A genuine interest in the marketplace and a willingness to take part in interdepartmental discussions

Competitive remuneration and paid over-time. 22 days holiday increasing by 1 day every 2 years to a maximum of 25 days. Lunch is provided by the company and there is parking space on the premises.
