This independent kitchen company understands that the kitchen is the heart of every home, where the family gathers. With over 15 years of experience in the industry they bring in-depth knowledge of kitchen design and materials and work with budgets from £30,000.
 
As part of their growth plan, they are in the process of refurbishing their East London showroom and are also looking to recruit a new member of the team. As a Technical Kitchen Designer, you will be working alongside the Sales Designers creating technical drawings and kitchen layouts, obtaining pricing information, specifying and collating quotes, co-ordinating installations. It is not a front-end sales role but pivotal in helping the business expand and meet customer demand. You will be the hub of the company based in the showroom.
 
This would suit a technically minded individual who is happy to get involved and participate in projects. You will also need to be comfortable with working on your own at times when the designers are out of the showroom.
 
There is also the potential to create social media posts and blogs if of interest.
 
Skills and Experience for the Technical Kitchen Designer:
  • Experience of kitchen design and plans
  • Able to carry out surveys, draw up designs and liaise with both the suppliers and the workshop
  • Good attention to detail
  • SketchUp and CAD literate, they use ArtiCAD
  • A team player with good communication skills

With a busy workload they are currently seeking to recruit an FF&E Interior Designer to handle all FF&E elements of projects and purchasing. This will include: specifying FF&E, reading and amending CAD drawings, collating artwork and accessories; ordering samples and handling suppliers; creating trade accounts; listing and placing orders. They use EstiMac so you will need to be both IT and commercially minded.
 
Key skills and experience for the FF&E Interior Designer:
  • 3 to 4 years’ relevant industry experience
  • An understanding of managing project budgets and timelines, including the FF&E procurement process
  • Able to understand AutoCAD drawings
  • Good organization and administration skills
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and resolving problems

They have a newly created role that they are looking to fill and it would particularly suit a commercially minded individual who understands design and the kitchen sector. The Kitchen Designer / Account Manager will will discuss the brief with the client, carrying out a site survey, draw up the design and plan and then hand over to production at Head Office. You will then be directing and managing the sale and project to installation.
Although the role will be based in the Showroom you will be required from time to time to carry out site visits as well as nurturing business relationships and future business, also talking to B2B partners and being the “face” of the company for the UK.

Based near the Hertfordshire and Essex border they have an opening for a Product Design Engineer to work on new products for the North American market.

You will be developing products from concept through to approval in accordance with relevant regulations and standards suitable for this territory. This will involve working with the Product Engineering Manager to ensure products are engineered to meet their sustainability principles, supporting the team, working within the given timelines needed to meet customer expectations and seasonal launches. Regular communication with Supplier Liaison Managers is essential within the development of any new product. Everyone in the team and company is encouraged to share their ideas.

They are open to considering either a junior or a mid-weight design engineer.

Product Design Engineer requirements:
  • 1+ years' experience working as a Product Design Engineer.
  • Ability to produce engineering drawings to IEC standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of various manufacturing processes suitable for mass production.
  • SolidWorks literate.
  • Knowledge and basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator for instructions and illustrations.
  • Able and comfortable with taking ownership of projects assigned.
  • Open to giving and taking constructive feedback.

The working week will be Monday to Friday and Saturday by appointment.
